We drove from Pensacola to try this out based on my sisters recommendation. We were absolutely blown away. First of all, every single person that worked there was kind, spoke to us and did an amazing job. Second of all, the food... was unreal. There were 3 of us so we split appetizers, had entrees and split desserts. Every single thing we had was INCREDIBLE. Priced well too. Please tell the entire staff how well they all do and give our thanks to the chef(s). Thank you for such a great experience! We will make the drive again for sure. I was HIGHLY impressed with this restaurant. While we were in Atmore attending a concert we wanted to grab a good dinner, and I'm sorry but the steakhouse at the casino is NOT all it's hyped up to be. So I stumbled across this place thanks to the Yelp community :) The building is tiny and it's located in their "downtown" area I believe. Although unassuming from the outside, inside it's tastefully decorated and chic. The staff were all A1, attentive and polite. Apps: We got the friend green tomatoes and oysters (on special). The fried green tomatoes were excellent. I really like to buffalo'd mozzarella pieces in between each tomato! The tomatoes were fresh and thick cut but done just right. And the sauce on top was AMAZING! The oysters left a bit to be desired because I felt like they could've been cooked more, but that may just be personal preference. Main: We got the shipwrecked to split and it was a great choice. It came with two petite filets, which were top notch cuts and cooked to perfection. And it also had two small crab cakes that were good, not too breaded. And green beans, that I wish I had more of! I do suggest if you get this dish to split you maybe add a side. Service was wonderful. The restaurant is smaller, but very cute on the inside. We got the great balls of fire as an app, the Shipwreck as a shared entree, the peach cobbler bread pudding and the pecan pie cheesecake for dessert. Everything was wonderful. Our beef filets were perfectly cooked and so good. Only complaint would be that our crab cakes were a little too mushy and salty. Other than that, everything was fabulous. Long Distance Long Winded Review Time: Gather (Atmore, AL) It was time to make the trip to this small quaint town. I have seen several wonderful reviews on this restaurant. The question is does this restaurant put Atmore on the map for an upscale contemporary dining experience? This restaurant had a beautiful laid back contemporary country influenced ambience, so bring your family, your friends, or your first date. I can not believe how superb the service is here. It felt warm, relaxed; and I can't express how phenomenal our service was from our waiter Chris. The owners are hands on deck expediting food and checking on their guest. On to the goodies, we started out with this phenomenal Fried Green Tomato Stack. These perfectly tasty seasoned fried green tomatoes were alternated with a yummy deep fried slice of mozzarella. It was then topped with this decadent conecuh sausage crab cream sauce. We also tried the Garlic Parmesan Roasted Oysters. The butter and mountain of cheese had an overwhelming taste over the oyster, but this super fresh awesomely seasoned bread was wonderful to dip into the leftover butter. For dinner we had the Pepsi Pork Chop and the Prime Ribeye. The ribeye was amazingly seasoned and perfectly cooked to a medium rare. The mashed potatoes, that was served along side the steak, were under seasoned; but we ordered a side of this straight off the cob creamed corn and it was fabulous. The pork chop did not pack a punch of flavor that I was expecting. I was thinking of something a slightly bit sweet, but also the pork chop was a slightly bit over cooked (little dry). The sweet potatoes were overwhelmed with bacon; and the roasted cabbage was like cabbage chips. For dessert, we order this super moist delicious peach bread pudding. I was surprised there was no rum sauce, but the perfected texture of this bread pudding it really didn't need it. Overall Review: spot on phenomenal southern hospitality (5/5) and food (3.5/5) I may get some back lash for this, but I couldn't taste the oysters, under seasoned mashed potatoes, lack of seasoned slightly dry pork chop, overwhelmed bacon sweet potatoes, cabbage chips. Now if you love bacon and conecuh sausage, this is probably your southerners dream come true. I truly believe the concept is here for this restaurant, but I think seasoning and sauces need to be branched out a little. Would I come back, sure why not? The service is amazing; and I'm sure they probably change the menu ever so often to bring in seasonal favorites. read more

No. I'll begin with Hank. Hank is our waiter. He's our waiter because every time I book a reservation, I request him. He knows my wife loves Moscow Mules. He knows we're making a drive. He knows what I want to order before I do. Most of all, he knows us. He makes that first impression only someone that loves a place can make. We've only just sit down and we're already "home." We have only begun to navigate their amazing menu and we still have so much to eat there and, with every meal, we can only hope that it's Hank pointing us in the right direction. Now, the other half of the review is the food. I've reached a point where, if I don't order the special, I've grown complacent My last plate here was the most amazing duck I've ever eaten. It was the special and it may not be on the menu when you go but if it is - GET IT. Every knock against duck (too greasy, weird, etc.) is simply because it wasn't cooked properly. What I was given was proper duck Medium rare. Cooked to perfection. The entire plate tasted like an elevated Thanksgiving feast. It was beautiful in every sense of the word. What happened?! It is pretty much the nicest restaurant in my area, granted it is a small town in a rural area. It is also the most expensive restaurant around by far. My wife and I ordered what we usually get which is one house salad with sliced grilled chicken and one caesar salad with two petite (6oz) filets. Only this time they said they no longer carry Caesar salad. So I said fine make it a house salad. Then they informed me that the filets went up in price by 20% since two weeks ago. I understand that things are going up so I said fine. To our dismay the filets were not only more expensive but only 2.5 oz cooked. Literally half the size as usual. Also these did not appear to be filets but NY strip meat at best. They were very well done instead of medium well. My wife did not receive grilled boneless chicken like usual but baked bone in breast. Both meats were dowsed in black pepper and very, very dry. I had a few pieces of bad lettuce also. In the past, food choices of high quality have been extremely limited in the atmore area, especially for lunch. Well, this has now changed. Gather was recommended by some fiends from atmore and it did not disappoint. I started with the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. The portion was very large, which is welcomed news for a big fellow. The flavor was exquisite! Picture perfectly Roasted Brussels sprouts with a slab of Pork belly presented across the top, then with a sweet sauce drizzled over. Absolutely outstanding! Then on to the main course. I selected the bbq bacon burger. This again was a large portion size. The burger was cooked perfectly and the flavor was so full and intense. This burger also featured pork belly which I loved. This has to be one of the best meals I've had in quite a while. What a jewel for the city of atmore. Surely worth the drive from surrounding areas for the experience 5/21/19...came here again and it's still absolutely wonderful. The food is so flavorful and the selections are unique. We happened to be in the area and had read the Alabama Living write up, so we stopped in for lunch. Not to be melodramatic, but we found food-borne nirvana in unassuming Atmore, Alabama. I've never seen my husband put his fork down and close his eyes so many times during a meal (he had the ribeye), or my 16-year-old brought to tears over a lemon pie. (16, y'all) I had the unsmashed bbq burger. It should be re-named the unabashed in-your-face phenom burger. Last night I met some girlfriends for dinner! The food was ok, but not $80 wow great! After we finished eating and received our bill, the waitress told us we had to leave because that table was reserved for another party. She was very blunt and rude and did not offer another table in the half filled restaurant nor the bar area. We went to to the bar area to sit and finish our conversation for the evening (which we asked the hostess if we could do). As we were sitting at a high top, a waitress told us we couldn't sit there because they were keeping it open for customers to dine. It was 8:30 on a Wednesday in a rural town...and the place was half empty.We do not get to see each other often and thought this would be a great place to catch up with each other.
