Went to Jay, FL for a wedding. Due to Hurricane Sally, the couple's wedding rehearsal and ceremony was changed from one venue to another. About 50 miles away... No power meant most restaurants in Pensacola and the surroundings weren't operational. The couple was scrambling to figure out where to eat for the wedding rehearsal dinner. My wife and I went on Yelp and found this Southern Home-Town, Family owned Restuarant and we loved it! Of course when I saw the name I was thinking "Dukes of Hazzard". LOL Pam, who we believe was the owner, was very gracious to accommodate 30 people with just thirty minutes notice!! We were truly blessed!!They had been out of power and just re-opened the night before our arrival. And "Yes" all the staff members were "'masked and followed CDC guidelines". They did a wonderful job. Hospitality - 5 stars Staff served out large group with a smile and patience! Food - 4 stars Southern food with all the "fixin's" but the STAR of show was their STEAKS and PRICE! 20 oz Ribeye for $25 and a 12 oz Filet Mignon for $28 - Whattttttt! You heard it right! So the next time you are in Jay, FL, stop by at Kooter's for a great meal. And hey, once COVID is over, they will resume having Karaoke on Friday nights, which we were told means a packed house. Sounds like fun to sing tunes after a wonderful meal! We will be back.... from the Mississippi folks! Overall - 4.5 stars.

The service by Owner Devin is the absolute BEST!!! He is kind! Funny! And makes sure that every dish is made to its highest quality! My favorite dish is the steak of course! On those days when steak is too much to eat I love ordering the Spinach and artichoke dip, Spicy shrimp or the buffalo chicken quesadilla! This is a small town restaurant but the flavors in the food and the lovely hospitality packs a punch! GREAT THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES!

    Huge filet, cooked to perfection!

My hubs and his buddy had steaks at Kooter Brown's one night and have raved about them ever since. When the place we wanted to go for dinner last night was packed, we decided to drive a little out of the way. I'm really glad happy we did. We both ordered the filet, cooked medium rare, sweet potato and salad. Our steaks were quality cuts of meat and they were cooked to perfection. I'd say they were probably about 12-13 ounces each. I couldn't finish mine, which made Jasmine and Blakeley Rose very happy little girls. They gave us plenty of butter, brown sugar and cinnamon for our potatoes, and they serve Ken's dressing on the salad, which is even better than most homemade salad dressings. The service was fantastic. Our beers were never empty and the waitresses were happy to chat for a bit, as were the other patrons who appeared to be regulars. The place isn't fancy. It's very casual and has a country tavern feel. They had TVs on with baseball and NASCAR. It wasn't loud and it was clean. You can go enjoy a nice meal without feeling like you have to get all gussied up. Our total tab for two steak dinners and five or six beers (one for me and the others for him), was just under $67. That was inexpensive for the quality and portion size. It's a bit of a drive, but worth the drive, and we'll definitely go back. As much as I love the steaks, I'm eager to try some other things on the menu.

Wow. All I can say is wow. I saw this place randomly while looking for a good place to grab wings while we were in Milton and decided to take a chance on it. Drove 39 minutes (pulled into another bar and decided against it) and all expectations were met. We got 10 wings, a basket of fries, 20 oz ribeye, 3 sides, southern egg rolls, & 6 beers all for 80 bucks. Holy moly. I've never been more impressed. Definitely coming back and worth the drive. Service was incredible, so kind and friendly !!!

Long wait for food. Food was mediocre at best. I had taco salad, hubby had fish...that looked ick to me. I most likely wouldn't return.
