Slaw seemed like it was something they purchase. Burnt ends were not what I am looking for. Pretty tough, they had good bark, so I was hopeful. The restaurant is partial counter service but your food is brought out to you. The staff were friendly and polite. A refillable drink station is offered. Let's face it you go to a barbecue restaurant for the meat and on that the place delivers. The pulled pork plate had a mild smoke taste not overpowering and thank goodness no liquid smoke could be detected. The portions were appropriate. Pricing was a little high for me but myself like many of us are still reeling from Covid spending inflation. It's comparable with other restaurants n the area. I am not a sauce person preferring to enjoy the taste of the smoke and meat but I tried the 4 sauces they offered. The two red sauces left a bitter after toast in my mouth. The "white" sauce reminded me of a thinned out remoulade. The mustard sauce reminded me of a honey mustard base. None of them really excited me but that's a personal choice. The cornbread was the sweet variety and was reasonably moist. The greens were exceptional they had a full taste without the often added overdose of sugar. The Mac n cheese was a bit disappointing. It was runny and the cheese sauce seemed thin. It looked like fresh made and it was early in the day so maybe it just hadn't set up good yet. All in all it was a decent meal for the price and I will probably go back again. The quality of the meat pulled this up from a 3 to a 4 star review.

Michelin rates restaurants by its worthiness to travel a distance to enjoy... two stars indicated good food, worth a detour, 3 stars was exceptional food worth a special trip.
