Sausage gravy was perfect for biscuit dipping!

This little restaurant is off a block the beaten path and definitely worth pulling in to. It has an old school feel as you walk in and warm southern hospitality from their staff. Omelets off the griddle we're second to none! My wife and I will make this stop on every trip through going forward!!!

While traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday, we came upon this cafe thru yelp. The food was very good! Pancakes were light and fluffy, bacon cooked perfectly crisp, the French toast got rave reviews with its cinnamon flavor. Staff was very pleasant. Clean restrooms too!

This place is a hidden gem. We moved here about a year ago and kept forgetting to go try this place, when we finally did it did not disappoint. Menu is simple but definitely worth it. We've tried their breakfast and their lunch special and both were great. For breakfast they had blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberries picked from one of the owners house, delish!!! Lunch is a typical rotating menu of southern dishes. Staff is super friendly and their food is fresh and homemade. Will definitely recommend.

We searched for a non fast food lunch outside of the Casino and found this little cafe off the main strip. Simple breakfast and lunch options. Breakfast options were the expected ones. For lunch he had a "big cheeseburger with bacon" and fries and I had a patty melt. The fries and onion rings were both good and the fry oil was fresh. Service was friendly and prompt. Family owned and run.

Eggs, bacon, grits,Sausage gravy and biscuits! Great food, great service!

Bring cash. A classic example of some southern cooking. Service isn't fine dining, but it's great.

This was a great place for breakfast! Cute and eclectic in decor. Nice staff, clean facilities. For four people was under $20.

Hominy, hush puppies, cornbread, grits, Alabama white sauce on any meat, especially smoked chicken, are all popular in Alabama. BBQ is practically a religion in the South! As former certified Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, my husband and I completed the training and paid the fees to be certified. The "KCBS way" is different from a lot of people's preferences in that, for example, a BBQ rib should actually have some "pull" to it, meaning, when you bite into it, your mouth should leave a mark in the rib. This means "fall off the bones" ribs are not KDBS quality, despite how many love that rib consistency. The KCBS judges slots fill up so quickly and required us to travel at our own cost and we did not judge any KCBS events. Back to Southern food. Deep fried double Oreos are one of the many fried foods here in Huntsville, and Melt restaurant features them on their menu. Meat-and-Three restaurants feature a meat (usually fried pork chop, meatloaf, BBQ, fried catfish, country fried steak/chicken) and three sides (fried okra, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries) and bread options such as cornbread, rolls, hush puppies. While Southern Cooking is absolutely delicious, I have to limit it because lets face it, it is high in calories and cholesterol. When I do indulge, it's shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and fried whole okra.

Sometimes it's pretty busy because of tourists, but everyone is always kind.

I'd passed it a few times while driving on Airport Boulevard. I was working from home so I went there on my lunch break. When I walked inside I saw a few patrons sitting at tables. There was a a buffet style counter set up with the work staff behind it. Each of them greeted me as I walked toward the counter. I was asked what I wanted and I said thought instantly about the fried chicken I saw. I ordered that and the meal comes with three sides and cornbread as well. I chose mac and cheese, black eyed peas, and mash potatoes and gravy. The server rung me up and I took my plate to go. I can't remember the first thing I tasted when I got home. I believe it was the mac and cheese. It doesn't really matter. The sides were really good. Mac and cheese is usually my favorite side but I thoroughly enjoyed the black eyed peas. Don't get me wrong the mac and cheese was excellent but the peas were superb. The mash potatoes were creamy and the gravy was savory. The cornbread was the type that had the pieces of corn in it. I liked it. Now the main course was of course the chicken. It really looked and tasted like authentic homemade fried chicken. I loved the seasoning on the chicken. It was some of the best chicken I've had in a while. I definitely want to come back.

When I looked in Google and saw that they were open on Sunday I decided that I was taking him there. You come in and it is a down home feeling. You have to lay before you eat, not a big deal and for me and my husband it was about $30. They had fried and baked chicken, mashed potatoes, lime beans, black eyed peas, tomatoes and okra, and of course fried green tomatoes. The reviews we had seen had mentioned that item as being great and my husband can attest to the fact that they are delicious!!! The service was good and the people all checked up on us and made sure our drinks were filled and plates cleared away. We talked to one of the servers and they talked about how they were open on Sunday through Friday for lunch but closed and reopened on Friday nights for a seafood buffet. My husband and I looked at each other and went "Yes"! We will DEFINITELY be back to eat some more of their cooking. The menu is listed daily on their Facebook page so head over there to like and follow them to see what's for lunch everyday!
