I am so grateful to the owner of this cleaners! At a time when I needed a helping hand he truly came through. The funeral home called us at the last minute and said they needed an outfit to put on my dad in preparation for his funeral. We thought we had a few more days to get it ready but they needed it NOW. Even though the equipment had been turned off for the day, the owner assured me he would get my dads suit ready for me in one hour. At a time when I had been crying my eyes out for days while trying to write an obituary it made all the difference in the world. Thank you Gateway cleaners for coming through for me! You guys really have a heart! read more

I brought my white sweatshirt here and they did a pretty good job at getting the the stains off

Owner charged us for a shirt that we had never seen before, even worse this shirt still had dirty brown stains that were not obviously cleaned or even seen the dry cleaning machine. When he showed us the video when we brought in the clothes, even though his cameras are extremely dated and very clearly do not show any of specifications on the shirt that is not ours, it was always his word over ours and he continually insisted that we were in the wrong because his employees would have not made any mistakes because "the tags tell the whole story". As if he couldn't just stick a tag on an old shirt that was never claimed in the back and edit it so that we would have to pay another $14 on a COTTON shirt that would never need dry cleaning. His only solution was that he would check his machine and the back storage and "call us back in a few days", as if we would just forget the incident and he can carry along with his business. Mediocre Service, Terrible attitude that puts the business above the customer, and an owner that insists that his word is the only one that matters. Do not give this place your time or money because they will misplace it and insult you for insisting otherwise. read more

Will never use these cleaners. They had lost a shirt of mine and when I complained the owner told me they he did not want my business anymore. I was spending $40. a month there! $1.65 to launder a shirt? Try Seminary Cleaners on Imperial and State College for $.99 and the customer service there is much better. Saving money, better customer service? Yes, Mr. Gateway Cleaners I will not be using your services anymore! read more

Terrible service. They ruined my scarf and still charged me for the cleaning! Won't go back there again.

I only come here because it is convenient as it is in the shopping center where I work. This place however, is a bit pricey, I can find some place cheaper near my home in La Habra. Secondly, the girls that work here have REALLY BAD attitudes. They don't smile, no courtesy. You walk in and all you get is a "phone number?" Not even a dam greeting. Only come here if it is convenient. read more

The location is ideal and that is really the best thing about Gateway Cleaners. Yes, the clothes come back clean and pressed but the prices are high and the girls who work at the counter seem to be irritated that they have to provide service to customers. I have been there a half dozen times or so since I have moved into the area and every time I have gone up to the counter the best word I can use to describe the attitude I receive from the employees is "annoyed." read more

One of the worst dry cleaners I have ever experienced! My wife brought her wedding dress here to be dry cleaned. We asked the owner if they can do the dry cleaning for something so delicate as her wedding dress, since it had a lot of beading, pearls, and lace. The owner said they do wedding dresses regularly- so we decided to use them, since they are close to home. When we got the wedding dress back, it was ruined! The beads came off, the lace torn, etc. When we confronted the owner about it, he did not take responsibility for the damage. He said the wedding dress was poorly made! Mind you this is a designer wedding dress that cost $5000. He did not offer to pay for the repairs. He just said he will not charge us for the dry cleaning. Can you believe that?! Do not bring your dry cleaning here. They do a shoddy job- not quality. And no customer service. They don't try and make the customer happy. Beware! read more

Went to pick up my cleaning only to discover one of my blouses had been ruined. I dropped it off asking if they could get the black transfer from a sweater to my blouse off and they said they would try. Fair enough, but when I picked up my blouse the black stripe bled into the white stripe leaving a blue line and they argued with me that I dropped off the blouse that way. Where in customer service do we argue with the customer??? read more

I started going here because it's close to my work. From the handful of times I've been here, there's been four separate issues with their service. My cleaning has been late twice, they misplaced my daughters slacks for over a week, and didn't pull steam from a pullover that I had dry cleaned (smelled like dirty wet towel). If you're looking for a cleaner that's dependable, DO NOT go here. I just sent a message to my friends and family suggesting that they go somewhere else. read more

Have been a customer for five years now. Cleaning service is good, but not the lowest prices you'll find in the area. The alteration service is poor, though the pricing is OK. Recently the dresser is almost never there. I sent in 2 pairs of pants a month ago for heming. I pinned the pants and provided written instructions for the preferred length of inseam. The pants first came back 2 inches too long; the store offered to fix at no additional charge. The second time the pants came back 2 inches too short. The manager is not there today. I will try to reach him tomorrow. Highly recommned you look for alteration service elsewhere. read more

We have used Gateway for years and we were always pleased with their service. However, on a previous visit, we were told that we owed $11 from the last visit because our credit card did not go through! ??? When you swipe or put in your chip, the transaction is either approved or denied. Our card has never been denied! So we paid the $11, again! Several weeks ago we took some suits and dress shirts. The suits were okay but the shirts had 2 creases on each sleeve! (Why any crease at all?) We're looking for another dry cleaners..... read more

F STAY away. I wrote email to give owner a chance to resolve my concerns and no response yet. Horrible service pricing is not competitive. Damaged my clothes and horrible customer service. read more

Terrible customer service rude young girl at the front and expensive! Dry cleaners are a dime a dozen find another one!

I've been using this Cleaner since high school. great service and very friendly staff. Prices are reasonable and they do wonderful work, I've even had them sew up a ripped seam from suit pants and they were are good as new. The staff will even go out their way to secure any loose jewelry that you may leave in your garments, that was such a great gesture. Excellent customer service, I highly recommend these guys! read more

Its walking distance from my job.. so i gave it a try....3 pieces.. 15 bucks.. wayyyy over priced.. doubt I'll go back

Great service and an amazing staff. Been going here for 20 years and the quality of my clothing has always been exemplary. They really do a great job when it comes to my cleaning. read more

I am not sure what other are complaining about. The customer service from the managers to staff is nothing but phenomenal. Needed my wife's dress in an emergency and they went out of their way to air sure I was helped above my satisfaction. read more

I work at a brand new business in the Down town Brea Promenade center and we like to support local businesses so we turned to Gateway Cleaners for our laundry service. Neil is the owner and took such great care of us. We will continue to use this cleaners as our local launders as well as bring my household items here for professional cleaning. read more

I have been coming here almost once a week for over 15 years and have had nothing but great service. I don't understand the people posting less than 5 star reviews, because none of it makes sense from my experiences. Every business makes an error from time to time, but it is rare here and when it has happened, the owner has always made it right. read more

I Love this place. It does a really good job.Everything smells nice and very clean.Great service!!!!

I live in Placentia/Fullerton and this is the only place I take my cleaning. The owner runs a great shop and he trains his staff to have excellent customer service. Great quality, attentive, responsive... you cant ask for more. read more

I dropped off my comforter Saturday morning. I was told, and my printed ticket stated, that my blanket would be ready Wednesday after 5. I arrived Wednesday at 6:10pm. The women there could now find my blanket. They said "it's ready but we can't find it" - excuse me... what!? She asked me to come back tomorrow morning, which I cannot due because of my work schedule. I asked that she call her boss. She did. He could not tell her where it was. I spoke to him on the phone, explained how upset I was, and asked if he could help them find it via phone or come back to find it himself. He stated I was being unreasonable. I was very upset snout my list blanket - which he kept yelling at me was "not lost" - umm if no one can find it, pretty sure that means is lost. After some back and forth - he hung up on me. I'm appalled they get any business. I asked the women if I could go back there and look for it myself - which they allowed. Could it find it. I asked if the items ever leave their facility. She said sometimes - if it was labeled wrong. Oh great. Anyway, I don't have my blanket still and I'll NEVER go here again. read more

This place is great! Neal is wonderful to deal with and the staff is incredible. I was in a tiny pinch and they were definitely accommodating! read more

I can't say enough good things about the awesome staff and fantastic service. Have never been disappointed.

Ive never had any problems with this place, they always clean my clothes as well as i think they can be cleaned, sometimes they will make a mistake and miss a spot, but if i bring it back they will fix it next time. The best thing about this place is their turnaround time, this is one of the only cleaners i can go to that consistently gets me things by next day. Other places make you wait several days. read more

This place takes way longer than other cleaners and service was very unprofessional, be careful, they could loose your apparel!

STAY AWAY!!!! Rude overpriced horrible service!! They ruined my shirt and said it was my fault that I took it that way. I am never coming here again!! Karma is a bitch and by the looks of all the Yelp comments looks like I'm not the only customer they have lost!( if it was my choice I would of rated them 0 stars! read more

I recently left my old cleaners to try out Gateway Cleaners for convenance. The staff was very polite and professional. After picking up my clothes, I was very happy with the care and dry cleaning they provided. Will definitely go back. read more

This incident took place in 2007 and I'm not surprised that their rating is horrible. I took my bridesmaid dress here to get altered 3 weeks before I fly to Chicago for my friend's wedding. So the seamstress got all my measurements and I was told that I will get the dress a week after. A week later I came back to pick it up and they said the seamstress wasn't there and they couldn't find the dress and just come back the next day. Since I live 2 minutes away, I decided to come back for it next day. The following day there was still no dress. I went in the following week and still no dress. 4 days before I fly to Chicago I finally got an answer from them and they said they lost the dress!!! I was furious! They said that the seamstress took the dress home and left it in the bus. Seriously!? I told them that they have to pay me (actually my friend since she paid for all the bridesmaids' dresses) for the price of the dress and they said that they can only refund like $50 or something since it was a poorly made dress but actually that was a $500 bridesmaid dress. I had to tell my friend the situation and tried to look for a similar dress few days before I flew to Chicago but didn't find one. read more

Gateway Cleaners is a place I have been coming to for years. I live in North Brea with several cleaners near me but quality and service not as good as Gateway. I drive to Gateway Cleaners because I know my clothes will be professionally cleaned and service is always great. I have never had an item lost or not ready when they promised. Gateway, keep up the great work! I will recommend your business every time. read more

We have had excellent service from Gateway Cleaners. Friendly staff. Always on time and goes the extra mile to remove difficult stains or same day service in emergencies. We have used them for 10 years. Excellent quality and fair prices. read more

We have been customers here for over 5 years now. The customer service has gotten better over the years. Maybe there have been enough complaints about the bad attitudes of the staff from customers that the owner finally tried to hire friendlier employees? They lost my husband's shirt once, but the owner was able to find it by check his security cameras. Overall it's an average place to get dry cleaning done, but it is a little pricey. read more

I have been going to Gateway Cleaners for a few years now and I keep coming back for the customer service. They have the best staff who always brighten up my day. They were even able to get some stains that I have had in my shirts for a while. I will definitely be back. My friend that I recommended here have all been saying the same thing. Definitely try this place out! read more

We are always being helped in a very timely manner. And really satisfied with the service being provided. Keep up the good work.

Review again.. This place is the best! 1star reviews misleading for sure. Owners are accommodating and quality oriented.

Patronized this establishment for about 8 years. In the past year their quality plummeted. After they destroyed a wool scarf by hanging a heavy tag from one corner with a giant safety pin, creating a bug hole, I spoke with the owner, Neil, who promised to reimburse me for a replacement. I followed instructions and he put a $65 credit on my "tab". Thereafter, his crew crushed three buttons on one of my husband's shirts and replaced them with cheap white plastic buttons and didn't confess to the deed (the buttons on the shirt were brownish tortoise-shell looking, not white), delivered a tuxedo shirt with smashed cuffs and dirt on the collar and starched everything despite my standing "no starch" order. I told the owner I really could not continue using his business and asked for a refund of the credit balance. That was a month ago. He has told me twice that he mailed a check to me - no check has ever been received. I would have given them a bad review for their terrible cleaning performance but now I have to add dishonesty to my complaint. read more

I am so upset, I cannot even tell you. I have used this cleaners for about 9 months and have lost 2 shirts and most recently a jacket. And in the same 9 months, I have had a red scarf, Hawaiian shirt, Navy Jacket mixed with my clothing, which I returned back to the cleaners. Once I was even asked, is this your shirt? OMG!!!!!! Of course, my pieces have never been recovered. I also agree with the attitudes of the girls, it is ridiculous. I actually dread picking up my clothing. I am sad to say the best cleaners in town closed this year. Wild West cleaners, I dropped off my clothes there for 17 years and in all that time, I only had two shirts messed up. I also, did not have one item missing, nor did I get anyone else's clothing. What has happened to service. I am really not sure what to do. Does anyone have recommendations for another cleaners? It is sad to say this is soooo convenient, but I cannot trust them anymore. I am done. read more
