I have been a customer for almost three years. I rented two units and put all of my furniture -- thousands of dollars worth -- into them.
For the first two years or so I had no problem, although nearly no interaction with them. Then in March of 2014, the credit card I used to auto pay their bill was stolen and closed down. I literally had a dozen bills I paid automatically from that account and all of them were affected and I had a huge mess on my hands.
All of those accounts, except the one with Gatekeeper were back on track within 60 days at most. I asked for a statement and in return I provided my new credit card number. It wasn't without hiccups but in the year since, every one of my ills, insurance, utilities and so on are all paid and on time.
But asking Gatekeeper for any account information was impossible. I asked for a statement, a list of all of the charges and payments I'd made. I repeatedly got literally nonsensical information that came randomly and in a myriad of formats. They have no online account management. The office hours they keep are random. They are the absolute worst business people.
In December of 2014, I received a "bill" that seemed to state that I owed $30. I knew this was wrong. I sent them a check, which they cashed, for $290. I had no idea what I owed.
I included a letter begging for a statement of account. I also begged them to change my address on their records.
In March I received another nonsensical "statement" that had been sent in early February to the wrong address. I could not figure out what I owed but replies with a check for $360 and another letter begging for them to correct my address and to send me a statement.
Just now, I received a letter, still to the wrong address, stating that all of my possessions have been auctioned off. Thousands and thousands of dollars of furniture, gone.
This "business" has no fax number, has no email address, has no web site. They operate out of someone's residence. They are belligerently stupid.
