Andre's Diner serves breakfast only until 11AM. This place is owned and operated by a friendly woman, who does the short order cooking in the kitchen and serves the customers too. This diner has a cozy feel with a few tables and booths and a small C shaped lunch counter and a good sized kitchen area and grill. The walls are painted futia and sea green colors. The menu offers the typical breakfast dishes including 18 kinds of omelettes on the menu and breakfast specials are offered as well. The prices are pretty reasonable, most omelettes priced $5-$7, served with pan fries and toast. I finally dined here for the first time this morning on my way to work. I needed to have a good breakfast, but enjoy it very quickly since I had a long day ahead. There were a few customers already here including a group of City Highway Dept. workers. That's a good sign the food has to be pretty good. I sat up at the counter for prompt service. I was offered coffee ($1.50) which was good and on the strong side. I ordered the top Breakfast Special ($4), which included 2 eggs any style, pan fries or beans, bacon, and toast. I watched my food being cooked to order on grill. The breakfast was solid good and very tasty. The pan fries (fresh cut grilled potatoes) were crispy and browned outside and soft inside. The folded scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy and I put some hot sauce on it for some kick. The bacon strips were crispy, just the way I specified. The wheat toast was already buttered. The service was pretty good and quick. I was offered more coffee, but I needed to boogie and quickly settled up on the tab, $6 even with tax, before tip. In and out in 15 minutes! I'll definitely be returning to Andre's Diner for the good breakfast, but I'll try to stop in here on my day off. HOURS: Mon-Fri: 5:30AM-11AM; Sat: 6AM-11AM; Sun: CLOSED

Celebrating a birthday with a friend. Our waitress, Trish,…read morewas wonderful and very attentive. The food was delivered quickly, it was hot and delicious. Great burgers! The owner, Dan, came to our table to make sure we were happy. Looking forward to going in again soon.

I don't know if our server was new, or if they were understaffed. I also don't know if the cook was new. At the end, I will tell you why I won't eat there again. Let's start with after we were seated it took a good 5 minutes or more before our server showed up. We almost left, but we had gone to El Tequila first only to learn that they are out of business. Darn! (We loved El Tequila! Tell me if you know, if they left the area or what). I should have known not to eat my food when the server thought I had ordered coke though I ordered lemonade! I have never had anyone ever confuse those! I ordered a Mexican omelet and hash browns (because I was really in the mood for Mexican food)! The omelet was good, but there was no seasoning in the ground beef, certainly not taco meat by any stretch of the imagination! I used all my sour cream (which had a lot of water in the container--does sour cream spoil?). And I used all my salsa. It was the only way I could even get an inkling of Mexican flavor. The hash browns were dripping with oil, so I onky had a couple bites of them. Sad! I drank about half my lemonade and asked for a To Go cup, but that never showed up. I waited as long as I could because the cramping started and I told my daughter, "We gotta get home." (I had the runs!) So, no, we won't be going back to Union diner again. Later I remembered this happened to me once before after eating there, but I had blamed it on the eggs. I think now, it must be the oil they use or something.

We got the same great service as if they hadn't just had a busy holiday weekend, except they were out if chorizo. We don't eat chorizo anyway, so no matter. I tried something new, the ham, turkey, and cheese sandwich on french toast! Yum!! My daughter got the same and enjoyed it too. We especially loved the deep fried potatoes. My husband got his favorite, corned beef hash. We'll be back!

We were there for the promise of a fantastic breakfast. The menu is manageable, lots of choices~all pitstop themed~ but not so many that it was a chore to choose. I decided on a 3 egg swiss and mushroom omelette. It was explained that toast was extra, which isn't the norm, at least in my experience. But I dove in and ordered Rye. My Son ordered 2eggs over easy, the potatoes (not the deep fried version), bacon, ham, sausage and 2 pancakes. This breakfast seemed to include a toast option, for those who are keeping score. The food was spectacular. Very well done, simply, and with no frills save for a killer playlist that included Bittersweet Symphony. You don't often find yourself sitting at a counter, eating breakfast with special toast and hear The Verve. Worth a mention. The service was crisp, thorough and we did get a lovely smile and thank you as we checked out. But at the end of it all, the food is, or should be the star. And it was.
