    Garibaldi's Flatbread

Lunch today at Garibaldi Trattoria in Garner, North Carolina was delicious! It was our first time here and it was absolutely amazing! The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere, friendly service and easy parking. I had the Garibaldi Flatbread (Fresh plum San Marzano tomato sauce, polpette meatball, fresh mozzarella di buffalo, ricotta cheese and fresh basil). My husband had the Cappelini Primavera (Angel hair pasta, fresh summer vegetables and your choice of garlic white wise of homemade marinara sauce). Both entrees were fabulous and we really enjoyed our meal. We definitely will be going back as regulars and I look forward to working my way around the menu!

Visited with my family of 8 for my son's birthday. Parking was packed and took a few laps to find a spot. Initially our reservation was not found, but they quickly discovered it and we were seated. The dining room was quite large, but filled with lots of seats. They use a traditional Italian theme. The waitress was a bit awkward and slow, but was nice so we were patient with her. The focaccia bread is amazing! We all got lots of food. The food was certainly the best part. This is some of the best Italian food you'll find in NC. My son got a small dessert for his birthday. We will certainly return!

Party of 6 came for Friday night dinner, we had reservations and were seated right away. Service was ok it was busy, so we waited for a little bit. I asked eat diner in my party how there meals were, eggplant was good, salmon nice cooked well, ala vodka good. Grandma pizza was ok, the crust was too thick for grandma pizza and too large for one person, the waiter should have pointed that out. Not pictured chicken Parmesan said very good. Kids pepperoni pizza good.

I am loving this new location! It's nicely decorated creating an Italian ambiance, everyone I interacted with was very welcoming. I ordered a carryout of eggplant parm with a side of gnocchi with meat sauce, garlic knots and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. While I waited for my order, the bartender made me an amazing drink. By the time I got home, my order was still hot and everything was delicious!

We were there for a birthday celebration. Went specifically on a Sunday afternoon which wasn't overly crowded so we had plenty of time to eat and sit and visit with family. Service from being seated was excellent by the very nice server, a man named Shannon. We were given time to order then the excellent service began with drinks, focaccia bread with oil, Caesar salads, entrees and desserts. Our every need was anticipated by Shannon. He also helped take pictures of our group. He kept drinks filled at all times. Entrees were very good. A mixture of regular menu items with one special which was rack of lamb. All entrees were delicious and plentiful. A celebration cake was brought to the table for me (it was my birthday) then the other deserts came out. No one had coffee since we still had drinks. Desert were nice including the brownie cake for my birthday, the limoncello cake and a crème brûlée. It was nice that they split the checks for us. Not every place does that. We already decided before leaving that we would definitely be back.

Always consistently good. Not as excited about their lasagna or their French Onion soup, but all the pasta dishes and pizza are solid.

I had soup, manti (dumplings) with dumpling- lamp plate and meatball sub. The dumpling soup was good- felt like a familiar taste of clean hardy dumping in blotch. Manti- we ordered half steamed and half friend and they were great! I tell ya- these dumplings are huge and it can possibly feed two people and can walk out full. The lamb plate was exceptional- it's not Mediterranean- super clean and flavorful dish. Meatball sub was the best I e had! Crunchy sub and juicy meatball with savory marinara and gooey cheese. Second time I had khachapuri (the boat looking bread with cheese in center and egg!). Super rich but pleasant. I would need this in - real cold and starving setting haha this bread alone can fill 3 people in my a Opinion. Also ordered 2 bowls of borsch (cabbage soup). I arrived at Rudino's in Southern Pines at approximately 10 min after ordering and waited almost another 30 minutes to receive my order. When the hostess brought the pizza, she said they messed up when cutting or slicing the pizza and threw another slice in a to-go box as though that would suffice in making it better. I thought this was absolutely absurd - the slice was nothing more than an old piece of another pie that was sitting under a warmer for probably hours and since it was close to closing threw it my way - it was disgusting. It appeared (see photo) they either dropped the pizza or took a bite out of it. When I ordered the Sicilian pizza, I thought it was going to be the traditional thick, deep crust, two inch plus pizza. I was perplexed and very disappointed to see it was nothing more than a traditional round pie with a taste that was overpowering with salt, the cheese was stale, there was no sauce, and very little meat. I feel it was deceptive to advertise and serve a Sicilian pizza masked as a round traditional pie that I can have ordered from Dominoes much cheaper. I was disappointed when walking in and having to wait as long as I did while observing the staff spend more time on their cell phones and gossiping with one another. I would think the least they should do is pull the Sicilian pizza from the menu until such time you can actually make one like Vera Pizza & Grill, Café Vesuvio in Sanford, SoPies in Southern Pines, Brooklynn Pizza, etc. I sent an email and tried calling Rudino's to discuss but they refuse to reply back.

Once upon a time, this place wasn't just a pizza restaurant--it was a pilgrimage site. People…read morewhispered about its crust like it was sacred text, and its awards lined the walls like a shrine to melted cheese and triumph. "Best Pizza" many years running back when that actually meant something. Now? It feels less like a restaurant and more like a nostalgic reenactment gone very wrong. The menu still reads like a dream--Carolina crust this, atomic sauce that--but ordering has become a real exercise in imagination. Half the ingredients are apparently on a spiritual journey and no longer physically present. You'll ask for sharp cheddar and get a thoughtful pause, followed by, "We don't have sharp cheddar, we might have a Wisconsin sharp cheddar?" --which, to their credit, has the word "cheddar" in it. The staff move with the energy of a group project that everyone forgot was due today. Pizzas emerge... interpretively. You might order a margherita and receive something that captures its essence, emotionally, if not structurally. It's less "wrong order" and more "pizza as a suggestion." A master of creative problem-solving, this cashier has boldly redefined the concept of "making change." Why fumble with buttons and math when you can simply hand over two beers and call it even? It's less of a transaction and more of a surprise gift exchange--one where the rules are unclear and the outcome is mildly concerning. And the wine list--oh, the wine list--is a beautiful historical document. A relic. A time capsule from at least six months ago, when bottles still existed and hope flowed freely. Now, asking for wine feels like asking about a long-lost friend. "We don't have that," they'll say, gazing into the middle distance. Still, there's something oddly annoying about it all. Like walking into a once-revered theater that still clings to its golden-age reputation. The performances feel like echoes rather than art, the lighting flat where it once dazzled, and every scene drags with the weight of trying to live up to a forgotten past. It's not bad enough to be a disaster--just disappointing enough to make you wonder if the hype was ever real or if you're just eating the ghost of someone else's great experience. Cheers!
