I felt taken advantage of on a recent repair job--they were not willing to revisit the cost, even when the repair required considerably less time and work than what was initially described. And they refused to provide me with a clear breakdown of labor and materials, which I asked for 3 times. Very disappointed in this company's business practices and customer service. :( read more

I've heard ads for this business on Spirit 105.3 for several years so when it came time to need my roof repaired, I reached out to Gardner first because I thought they'd be reliable and responsive. I left a detailed VM msg indicating what I needed and received a text (supposedly from Robert Gardner) on 6/11 indicating he could stop by the following week and asked for my address. I provided it and then heard NOTHING and never received a follow-up text or call. I sent another text on 6/16 and still NO RESPONSE. What I've since learned is that *anyone* can advertise with a faith-based business if they can afford the cost so that means nothing with regards to the integrity of either business. I'm not naive by any means but rather I give anyone and everyone the benefit of the doubt until they prove me otherwise. If there was a 0 rating I would give it, Robert Gardner is a fraudster, he will take you for a ride and scam you, take your money and won't give 2 hoots about you or your roof. horrible experience with this guy, he has no shame. He had done a roof on my new construction house a couple years ago, through the General Contractor that I hired to build it for me. He did not even build it to code, I have no idea how it passed, he did not even install the permanet safety anchors in the roof. (The General Contactor had passed away soon after so I had to try to deal with this clown directly, which has proven fruitless, and hence here I am). I have tried to contact him several times, no response at all, he ignores all calls, voice messages and texts. Just hides. No responsiblity at all, will never stand by the roofing job he does. It was unfortunately not up to me to hire this scammer, if I were hiring direct, I would never even look the way of this crook. Just so frustrating when someone takes your money, does a crappy job and wont even have the decency or shame to at least respond, provide you with some sort of response at least. I mean I can work with people there is nothing that cannot be solved, I am willing to even compromise, but this frausdter hides like a coward. If you are looking for a roofing company to work on your roof, run don't walk away from this guy, do not ever hire him, you are best to look elsewhere. And I must say, I suspect 90% of any positive reviews for this guy are fake, probably done by him and his family to try and hide their incompetence and fraudster scamming ways. read more

Terrible experience in getting a bid for a roof repair. I asked for a bid and he said he would call before he came. He came by the house unannounced and got on the roof without contacting me first, while my wife and kids were in the house. They had no idea he was up there. Then when I called him back about the quote he left on my voicemail and asked how he was able to give me a quote without seeing the underside of the roof, he hung up on me. Gardner Roofing replaced our roof 2.5 years ago. Now it's leaking, and Robert Gardener has not returned multiple messages we've left over the last month. What's the point of a warranty if the company won't honor it? Update: Gardner claimed he'd tried to call my husband multiple times, but somehow his are the only calls not coming through (no texts either). My husband left him another number to try, but still no response. We ended up trying to fix the leak ourselves, and we'll hire someone else if that doesn't hold. read more

Three months after a new roof installed last August the leaks started in several areas of our home that was rented out while we were working abroad. The leaks occured during heaving rains right before Thanksgiving, Christmas and around the New Year. Robert's response was slow, and we had to use our handyman to try and deal with the emergency of water running down 2 exterior bedroom walls on opposite ends of the house as well as in the front entryway, soaking the carpet and damaging the walls. Robert eventially sent a crew out to make exterior repairs. The problem stemmed from re-using old metal flashing around the exterior. Now that we are back in the house, I've contacted Robert again to replace the the old materials that should not have been used. He will only do so if we pay for new materials and installation, none of which was in his original bid. He refuses to take responsiblity, even though his work is supposedly guaranteed for 3 years. I cannot recommend Robert Gardner Roofing in any way. read more

Gardner Roofing failed to oversee the team that did the work and demanded full payment before work was complete. Gutters were not cleaned as stated in agreement and the skylights were left dirty along with window scraps and debris on the garden, a broken shrub, along with numerous nicks and gouges on the porch boards. He has failed to detach his safety rope from the roof peak and also left a window blank he decided not to install on the front porch. read more

A friend recommended Robert after getting a steep roof done, that many passed on. Ours was not steep, but it was three stories up. Of the three bids, theirs was the least expensive, without any up selling. Their crew showed up as stated, and they protected all the surrounding areas with ground covers, and finished the job in two days. Sufficient materials were brought to job site to ensure no down time. Precision measurements, cuts, trims were executed quickly reflecting care, knowledge and vision of the finished project. Helpers were careful to not damage windows, deck furniture and cleaned up efficiently throughout the day, performing a complete clean up at the end of each day. Entire crew took time to ensure proper length nails were used to avoid penetrating roof eves. Team took extra care not to walk on hot roof surfaces, which would have caused deformation of individual shingles. Both Owner and Ignacio executed complete walk-thru at completion of project to ensure job was performed to satisfaction of home owners. In concert with customer, an after-action review was performed, to determine what actions could be improved for the next roofing job. Gardner Roofing is a professional, highly capable team of roofing experts who are both friendly and efficient, staying with a project until it is completely finished to the clients satisfaction. Some leaks have shown up on a roof installed by Gardner Roofing 2.5 years ago. Recently Mr. Gardner and I have gotten a hold of each other and he's coming over today to check out the leaks we have going on. Sometimes companies and services mess up or things don't run smoothly. As a small business owner myself I have experienced this several times. And it's how the people involved respond that makes all the difference. And subsequently make clients for life. I have known Robert Gardner, the owner of Gardner roofing for over 15 years. He has roofed numerous buildings for various properties I used to own in the 90's and 2000's. Over the years I have referred him to others and he has always been outstanding in delivering what he promised. Many years ago he did a roof for a close friend of mine who I knew would be extremely picky and Robert got it done to my friends' full satisfaction. It took a lot of call backs to get there but Robert delivered. Whenever I get work done I always get competitive bids and in every case his bids are lower to much lower than his competitors. It is because he has been doing it for so long he knows all the tricks to keeping his costs down. A lot of times we think that a lower bid means something is wrong, that the labor or materials can't possibly be good, but I am here to tell you that is SO NOT TRUE in this case. It makes me so happy to say that here is one guy who actually gives you a better deal and his finished product is as good as anyone else's in the roofing business. read more

I had Robert and his team finish a job that was started by the previous homeowner - cut ridge vents, replace a skylight, and fix some flashing. Robert and his team were on time, reasonably priced, and did a great job. Robert is full of energy and clearly loves what he does. I will hire them again if I need a roofer. read more
