Came on a Saturday morning around lunch, sat on the enclosed patio with a large baby shower so the noise level was high, but the staff were still very efficient and delivered our food fast. The smoked salmon toast with an egg added was delicious. Nice portion of salmon spread out between the two pieces of toast. The smashed NLT with avocado and egg was equally tasty. The food was good as usual. It was not too busy for a Saturday brunch, but seats were limited so we had to wait a bit. I'm giving a 4 for the food, but service wasn't as great as the Mass location (maybe an off day). We barely saw our server, the host at the front wasn't friendly (we asked if we can get a table outside and we felt we were being bothersome for asking). We sat in a corner table and waited a long time for someone to show up. Other than that, everything was delicious. I had the Quinoa Breakfast Bowl + Salmon. I would definitely order it again. Childish, rude, unprofessional, passive aggressive. The stated closing time for this establishment is. 3:00PM. However they have an unwritten rule that they stop seating at 2:45 and you must order by 3:00. This is not by itself unreasonable as some people are obnoxious and they may need to make adjustments to the kitchen before the next shift. Personally I don't arrive that close to closing time normally as it is a bit tacky. However, this time there was a traffic issue close to the restaurant that caused a few minutes delay. I knew of their policy so I called in to confirm if the required arrival time was 2:45 or 2:50 since this information is not provided anywhere and I couldn't remember. The girl answering the phone said she didn't know and would have to check (red flag #1). If a policy is this essential to your operations and is rigidly enforced, maybe the person answering the phones should be aware of it. Fast forward to a few minutes before 2:45 and we were outside parking but was taking a bit longer than expected since another car was double parked. So I called again to let them know we were outside parking and would be walking in momentarily and confirming that was OK. The girl answering the phone once again didn't know the answer and said she'd have to check (red flag #2). She comes back on and says that although it is still 2:45 they are no longer seating and could only take a carry out order. I can spot pettiness and self importance a mile away and knew to just go somewhere else, but the person with me is too nice and gives people the benefit of the doubt to a fault. So, knowing it was a fool's errand but obliging my fellow diner I went in to see what they would say since it was at or just a minute after 2:45. I expected to encounter rudeness and an attitude unsuited and unsuitable for the service industry and they delivered in spades. Knowing that someone might have the audacity to ask to be suited during open hours, as soon as they hung up the phone with me they must have raced from the hostess stand to the front door to lock the door and put up a closed sign to discourage any potential intruders who might interrupt their Facebook posting or TikTok viewing session. If they are this proud of their closing time policy and it is so important to them maybe they should post it on their website in big capital letters rather than relying on an uninformed poorly trained hostess to deliver the message. While we happen to be quite frequent guests here I didn't bring that up as doing so is silly and tacky. I guess no good deed goes unpunished. While we will go back to this place as the food is quite good, we'll be sure to leave extra early and will be less forgiving/patient with some of the screw ups and delays we've encountered during previous visits. Btw the broad ripple location employs adults who conduct themselves with much more professionalism and maturity and are always great, but I guess good people are in short supply. This new space is so stunning! Located right off of The Monon Trail in downtown Carmel, this new brunch, lunch, dinner, and bar spot is going to thrive. There is a Garden Table location in Broad Ripple and on Mass Ave downtown too, but only this location serves dinner in addition to brunch and lunch. Jackpot! We arrived at 5pm on a weekday and were the only ones in there. By 6pm, they were completely full, so I'd definitely recommend calling ahead if you're going during dinner or on a weekend. Our server was awesome, the bartender was an old friend I hadn't run into in a long time, and I always love how the menu clearly states which dishes are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. Very dietary friendly! I've enjoyed many juices from their other locations in the past, but this time I went for the chop chop salad with shrimp. It had mixed greens, bacon, sunflower seeds, egg, avocado, tomatoes, pickled red onion, and a buttermilk blue cheese dressing that I got on the side. It was all delicious and I ate every bite. My friend had the salmon and enjoyed it, and the wagyu burger made my mouth water when a server walked by carrying it. My bill came out being a little over $30 for just my salad, so this will be more of a special occasion spot for me. I love eating healthy and appreciate that they use great, fresh ingredients and I know that ingredients are so expensive right now, so I totally understand and will come back for sure. Went with a large party for a Friday lunch and it was a great experience. The server was very attentive to the group and made sure everyone got the right order and had plenty to drink even though the restaurant was super busy. We all ordered different items and there wasn't a person who seemed disappointed in their choice. I got the southern chicken sandwich with the bbq on the side. I'm glad I did because the sauce wasn't my thing and was a little sweeter than I usually care for. The sandwich was thick and the chicken was cooked through and was super juicy. My husband and I have been to the garden table on mass ave and this was our first time trying the Carmel location. We love that parking was no issue, it's spacious inside so you have room for a stroller if needed. The service was excellent! Our waitress was super nice and attentive. This is the Carmel spot for a bougie brunch. We stopped in after church today and we were greeted with a smile. Pro tip: book your table ahead of time on open table to shorten your wait. It's a bonus that they take reservations for brunch. Yay GT! We had the fresh pressed juice flight and an iced matcha latte with oat milk. Our favorite juice was the jalapeño one. For entrees we had the chilaquiles, breakfast stack and the quinoa breakfast bowl. The chilaquiles were fine but probably wouldn't order again. Nothing spectacular or wrong just not memorable. The breakfast stack was a clear favorite. Lots of umms and oh yeahs on this one. The hash browns were cooked to protection, the fatty avocado compliments the scrambled eggs and the smoky salmon favor. TLDR: Pricey, decent food, friendly but slow service. We met friends for dinner on our first visit to Garden Table. The host and servers were kind and had many suggestions from the menu. Our charcuterie board and street corn apps were good. The highlight for me was the blacked fish tacos. I usually find fish tacos a bit bland but these were bursting with flavor. The biggest problem with the dish was that one of the taco entrees showed up about 20 min late. We also had to wait on a side, and a salad that wasn't made as requested. Service was slow all around. The burger looked good (but pricey) but the duck wasn't amazing and came with some underdone risotto. Overall, it was a disappointing trip. For the price, I doubt we'll return. read more

So, Garden Table is one of those trendy restaurants with great potential, but they seem to be failing on execution, and I don't think they've figured out that the customer is the most important element in their business. The food quality is fine - good, but not necessarily great. Where they're struggling is not with the food, but with customer service and overall restaurant administration. This restaurant is located right on the Monon Trail in a newly renovated area of Carmel, with high foot traffic. On a nice, sunny Saturday in the spring or summer, it can be tough to get a table. Not tough because of the crowd, but tough because they can't seem to figure out whether reservations are required or not. On four occasions, my wife and I attempted to dine here without a reservation. Two of those four times, we were told a reservation is always needed. We also heard "we're no longer seating today" - even though there were tons of empty tables everywhere. ?!?!?!? On both occasions, we weren't even close to their mid-day shut-down time. On the other two occasions, we eventually managed to get seated, but it was an ordeal, for one reason or another. We like the food, but sadly, I don't think we'll come back. Whenever a restaurant sends me vibes that they'd prefer I not come there, then I don't wait around for additional hints after that. read more

The Garden Table does everything right. What you'll see when you walk in the door is pure beauty. The design and esthetics of the interior leave you feeling fresh and invigorated. They have some of the kindest and hardest working staff around. They are professional and attentive, but also personable where you feel like you're having a conversation with a friend. It's hard to figure out where to begin when talking about how much I enjoy their food. Their dishes are visually appealing, perfectly executed, and leave you feeling good when you're finished, like good food should make you feel. If you've never tried their fresh juices, then definitely consider getting one soon. Updating my review because I've now had brunch and dinner. Both were fantastic! Ate dinner at the bar with a friend. They have great looking cocktails but I opted for a decaf latte. They offer decaf espresso, which is great for those who don't want a bunch of caffeine in the evening! My friend and I both got the Rachel From Friends Salad. I also had a cup of their daily soup, which was a shrimp gumbo. The soup was rich but not too heavy and the salad had great flavor combinations. I loved the mint and cucumber and the vinaigrette added the perfect amount of citrus. Some of the red onions were very strong so I ended up picking a few out towards the end. My friend added salmon to hers and loved it. The bartender was very nice and personable. I highly recommend all of the above dinner items but if you're stopping in for brunch, I recommend a specialty latte, coffee (they serve Tinker, woo!) or one of their fresh pressed juices. I've been wanting to visit one of the Garden Table locations for a while and one just opened up in Carmel. My boyfriend and I decided to check them out for our Sunday brunch. We got there around 10:30-ish. We didn't have a reservation, so we had to sit out on the "heated" patio, if we didn't want to wait for a table inside. I put heated in quotes because you could tell all the wall heaters hadn't been on for very long as it was still chilly. They have the pull down plastic covers around the patio, but the table we were sat at had a tarp over it, with a draft of cold air coming out the bottom. It wasn't miserable but I do like being able to take off my coat in a restaurant. The concrete of the patio also really causes sound to bounce off the walls making it really noisy. All of that being said, I'm a fair person. Our experience otherwise was very good. Our server was very friendly and attentive, warming up our coffee as needed. I ordered the fajita bowl, which was delicious. If you don't like spice, ask for it without the jalapeños, because they're pretty generous with them. My boyfriend got the chorizo bowl which he said was also really good. They serve Tinker coffee here which is a plus. They have a variety of espresso drinks and cocktails to choose from as well. The inside had a nice long bar top and beautiful decor. The vibe of this place is casual but still upscale, but moderate prices. I would definitely come back again... with a reservation. read more

Molly was the one who suggested this place to us, and I am honestly so glad she did! This place is awesome, it can be an awesome laid-back place or a upscale experience! The wait-staff was very kind and welcoming which was appreciated! We went here about a week ago and were able to walk in with no reservations and be sat immediately. We got quite the assortment of things here, none of which disappointed us! We started with some really good tea and the Chef's Choice Charcuterie board for 2. This had the BEST chunk of blue cheese i have had in a long time, it crumbled and melted in your mouth! The two meat choices were good as well, although one of them (the bigger pieces pictured) were a bit spicy for M. This spread was amazing! I opted in for the Maple Leaf Duck Breast with risotto -- it was great. The duck breast was cooked well and was tender to the bite with no toughness. The risotto was pretty good, but I felt like it lacked a bit of flavor that could have complimented the breast better. We also ordered the Angel Hair pasta and that was flavorful, but once you got past the melted cheese on the top, it became very oil heavy which I think made the pasta lose the flavor. M got the Whiskey Cream Chicken and it was great and cooked perfectly, the green beans were awesome! We ended the night with a Bread Pudding and it was the best I have ever had! Late on writing reviews! I have visited twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both visits were great! The first visit was the first week they opened and service was a bit slow, but was much improved the second visit. The food was great at both visits. For dinner my friend and I shared the pasta with lemon sauce and shrimp and the whiskey chicken. We loved them both. For breakfast I had the biscuit and gravy bowl and loved! What a super cute new location! The inside has been completely redone and has a great aesthetic going on. A perk of this location is they are doing brunch until 3pm like Mass Ave and Broad Ripple, then between 3-5 they will have small plates and dinner from 5-9pm! I ordered the portobello mushroom burger. It came with roasted red peppers and that coupled with the garlic aioli and the soft ciabatta bread made this a great option if you're not here for brunch menu. The sandwiches come with a side of tossed greens. I opted to get a side of fries and they were baaaangin. Really crispy. My coworker tried the cinnamon sugar bites and they were kind of crouton-y and not too sweet. I think they would be better with some kind of dipping sauce or icing. The Basic B was also tried - biscuit, scrambled eggs, potatoes and (a vegetarian) opted for fries in place of the meat. The scrambled eggs were very cold- probably the kitchen figuring things out but noteworthy nonetheless. One the menu there were a ton of vegetarian options too! Was absolutely blown away by Garden Table tonight. Went for dinner around 5:15pm, it was a Tuesday night so the crowd was pretty light at this time. It got busier as the evening went on. We ordered a Match Latte, Penne + Salmon, & Guajillo Citrus Chicken. The food was so delicious! I completely forgot to take pictures of the food but the portions were pretty big. I took half of my pasta and salmon home. Also had the chance to try their Creme Brûlée which was delicious. The service was unbelievable. Ok the smoked salmon hash was so good! Very flavorful which I was worried about bc for some reason I've had a lot of under-seasoned things from various brunch places. I also tried a bite of my friend's fajita bowl which was also very good! The espresso martini was pretty (as you can see) but just so-so flavor-wise in my opinion. Oh well, can't win 'em all. The best thing you can do for drinks is get the mimosa bucket and split it with someone--I believe it was $36 and you each get 4 mimosas at like a 90/10 bubbles to juice ratio. Amazing deal!!! My only complaint is that there was a fire alarm going off for like a combined total of probably 20 minutes while we were there; but I'm not taking off any stars bc I believe it was due to the apartment building that's above the restaurant and was out of their control.
