We had a free order of empanadas from A yelp event and decided to make it a dinner. We celebrated our anniversary with this amazing tasting. Parking is on the street but is plentiful. It's a smaller place so make a reservation. Our server was Mateo and he was wonderful. Very kind. Knowledgeable. And fantastic taking care of us. We had empanadas , a cheese tray , and more empanadas. They were so good ! It's a great place for a nice dinner or special Occasion. Highly recommend !

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Our server Tony was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He knew exactly when to check on us and when to give us space. We shared a large variety of dishes and every one of them was tasty! We really loved the Gardel sauce served with the steak. It was bright acidic and salty perfection. The mushrooms and brie dish was delightful! The marshmallow and peanut dessert with grapes was so creative and delicious. Everything tasted like a home run. The prices are reasonable and even after sharing many savory dishes, ordering ALL the desserts, and splitting a bottle of wine, the total cost felt like a bargain considering we had just traveled to Argentina by way of Spain and Italy. I highly recommend Gardel and look forward to future visits!

The food was so good that I forgot to take any photos of it. Lol. I work server was so helpful and nice and we tried a couple of things on the menu. I didn't get any drinks this time, but they looked great and we'll have to do it next time. We came in on a Saturday night later so it wasn't too crowded so even though I made a reservation. We could've definitely just come in and grabbed a table. The Choco flan was delicious and the croquettes were to die for. Can't wait to come back in. What a cute spot.

Gardel is a fantastic neighborhood bar and restaurant. It encompasses alot of what the area is- a place of diverse cultures and experiences coming together to enrich those around them. We found the service to be warm and our waiter to be incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and the food pairings- important for a tapas bar. We found the empanadas to use high quality beef and the squid ink pasta to be a satisfying mix of fresh ocean seafood and homemade pasta.

Came here for opening night and we will definitely be back! We only came for drinks and dessert but were given a pan con tomate for the table. The pan con tomate were amazing, the olives were definitely on the salty side. Tony was an amazing server and was very attentive! The room to the left was very cozy and warm, which is where we sat. I think that the room to the right was slightly too bright, which is where the bar was situated. The cookie trio was very good and paired well with the wine we ordered. We will definitely be back with empty stomachs for a full meal!

Great place to try argentina food! The empanadas were delicious and full of flavor! I also got the fritas gardel with chorizo!! Both dishes were amazing to try and I will be coming back again! The staff were also very attentive with making sure I was happy!

Excellent food, services & vibes. Feels like you aren't in Providence. Highly recommend!

I came here with a few friends over the weekend and was sadly disappointed by the food. The service was great, and the ambiance was intimate, but the main entree left much to be desired. While the cheese plate was fine and the vegetables were more tasty, the fish was unfortunately one of the blandest dishes I've ever eaten and the mushrooms on top were basically raw. I'm not even totally sure that the fish was cooked much either. Won't be back here I'm afraid.

Argentine excellence! I'm always ecstatic to hear about Latin additions to Providence's cuisine scene, and this place is no exception. We visited on a busy Friday night and were lucky to get a table for two. My partner, who is Argentinian, was transported to his mom's cooking through Gardel's delicious Empanadas and Milanese. We topped our food off with a decadent Alfajor. If you know, you know- and if you don't, I suggest you try! The interior is intimate and romantic but still casual and eclectic. The food was impeccable and servers were all attentive and friendly. This place is already a new favorite. Looking forward to visiting again and trying out the rest of the menu & wide bottle selection!

INTRO: Came to Alma Gaúcha to celebrate my birthday, and…read morethis was not just dinner, this was an experience. The kind of place where you show up hungry and leave with a story. If you love meat and high quality.....this place is for you! FOOD: This is where things really take off. I let them keep it coming, flipping that green placard and trying everything from beef to chicken, from sausage to those rich, fatty cuts of steak that just melt as you eat them. The quality of the meat stood out immediately, well-seasoned, cooked right, and served fresh throughout the night. The side dishes were not an afterthought either, they held their own and complemented the meats perfectly. I also had a caipirinha, Brazil's signature cocktail, and it was refreshing, balanced, and exactly what you want alongside a meal like this. AMBIANCE: Located in South Boston, near that wonderful circular swingset, this place is like located in a hotel. Once inside Alma Gaucha, you get upscale vibes. There is a lively, upscale energy in the room. It feels like a place built for celebration, whether it is a birthday, a group dinner, or just a night out where you want something memorable. The setup with the green and red placards adds a fun, interactive element, letting you control the pace of the meal while still feeling part of the rhythm of the restaurant. SERVICE: Top notch across the board. The staff was attentive, engaged, and always one step ahead without being intrusive. They explained the flow, kept an eye on the table, and made sure the experience never slowed down. You feel taken care of here, which matters when you are IMPRESSIONS: Alma Gaúcha delivers on every level. Great food, strong service, and an atmosphere that makes a celebration feel like a real event. I came here for my birthday and left feeling like it was the right call. This is a place you come back to, especially when you want to enjoy yourself and not hold back.

Let me start off by saying that this was my favorite Brazilian Rodizio that I've been to many times…read moresince they've been open. It has been consistent for the most part in terms of their food selection, but this time they did not offer Fraldinha or Alcatra anymore on their Dine Out Boston menu. Their cold/hot food bar is better than Fogo's selection by far. It seemed there were more limited meats that came by especially since we were seated close to the entrance of the restaurant despite my card being green the whole time. I would expect everything on the limited menu to show up at least once and the wait time for specific cuts of meat took way too long even with requesting a cut from the staff. Somehow the cheese with honey never shows up either. I went during weekday lunch and the restaurant was semi-busy in the front half of the place up until the end of my visit in which there were only a few tables left and I still didn't get any additional Picanha. They came around with the cheaper alternatives more often. The meats I was served were seasoned well, but the variation in temperature for cuts I got were somewhat off putting despite requesting medium rare each time. There were some perfect temps to start off, but half the time they cut me thin slices of well done meat. That was my table's experience this time around unfortunately. I'd come back again since I've had many better experiences here over the years and I hope this was a fluke and not the fact that it has gone downhill.
