It was the right temperament and chemistry after having experienced less than satisfying interaction with the big box stores and self-promoting boutique craftsmen. Tony is hands-on and grounded in his congenial approach understanding that homeowners have an initial vision for their kitchen yet need at times his artisan approach to make it a reality and fill in the empty pieces of the puzzle that are not always known at the onset of a project. Tony further made referrals available from the onset and this helped us to gain some additional feedback on what Tony did for others on their projects. Tony's methodical approach to work is so well thought out and comprehensive in scope. He hones in on the little details that made our project absolutely delightful. Tony provided scaled color diagrams so that we can picture in advance what our kitchen would look like. Tony also provided meaningful suggestions in keeping with a home of 1906 vintage. Moreover, the project cost was reasonable and on schedule without any surprises. I appreciate when a contractor like Tony respects our time and is respectful of our home in terms of tidiness. Tony and two of his stellar assistants Eric/Jason further helped me out in a pinch on most of the initial demo work after my other contractor became unexpectedly ill and hospitalized. In short, Tony went way beyond the call of the duty with our kitchen remodel. At that time, the wonderful sales person I worked with on my first order was no longer employed and they have this guy Marlon running the show now. I was candid with Marlon about why I had to redo my floors and needed a new estimate. Marlon was initially very pushy about getting directly involved with my claim even tho I told him I already had a contractor to do the work and I simply just needed the materials. After 20 minutes of saying no to his suggestion he finally gave me the estimate. He quoted me $4.19 claiming inflation impacting the price. Okay fine -- I go get the amount approved through insurance. Insurance approvals take a while so I didn't end up going back to actually purchase the floor until today, July 2025. NOW he's trying to tell me the price for the floor is $5.39. As if the cost of flooring skyrocketed up $2.39 per sqft in a matter of 8 months?! He told me to go back to my insurance adjuster and ask for more money and then it was clear to me this man was trying to take advantage of my claim by gouging the price of the floor. He knew my insurance was a grade for grade replacement and tried to leverage that to inflate what he wanted to charge me. Pure greed. Because how else does a floor go from $3 to $5.39 in 8 months?? Especially when I checked nearby competitors and no one else had raised their prices recently. I did love that floor but the pushy & predatory business practices were simply unacceptable (especially as a return customer) and I ended up taking my business elsewhere -- as should you.

We completely gutted the den, evened the floors, put in radiant floor heating, sealed off the small door to the patio and put in sliding glass doors, and completely reconfigured the laundry/half bath/water heater space! And, very importantly, he did an absolutely gorgeous job. His company is smaller, which means less overhead and, in my experience, very client-focused and driven to excellence. From the beginning Sam was very communicative and throughout the process was available to talk through any questions/ideas/concerns I had. In the end, he stuck close to his initial estimates (the few additional costs had been flagged and discussed with and agreed upon by me before they were incurred), and completed the work well within the initial timeframe.
