Starting out the new year with a bang, literally…read more.. My garage door made a very loud noise and wouldn't raise. The door is original to the house from the mid 90's and the torsion spring cracked and side cables broke. Consolidated Garage Doors did the original install as their sticker was still displayed but their company has moved from Addison to Batavia. I called and someone answered right away. They were up front with prices over the phone and had someone out within 48 hours. They did tell me someone would call me about an hour before they showed up but didn't get one. Mike came to our house, assessed the entire unit, and recommended a strip on top of the door also be replaced. He didn't pressure me nor did any sales pitched to upsell me; he gave me the space to think and confirm what I wanted done. Work was completed in 45 minutes as estimated, payment was easy to make on my card without any 3% surcharges, and our door is working great now! I am so happy I was able to call the original install company, I was thoroughly impressed by their initiative to come out and repair items, and like their eagerness to check all other parts while out here. Great group here!

The staff was really professional, helpful, pleasant, easy going and concerning to my issues. I was seeking replacement for my motorized door trim. The quality of the materials and how the construction would work and perform. Compared to other trim and materials being used now days. On the comparisons in my research I feel that I've gotten a really good value all the way around in addition to getting the trim replace. I also got garage door tuneup/maintenance service. We change the lightbulb and it would last a week or two and then go out so thinking we needed to replace the whole thing we were going to have a repairman come out, but she happened to ask me if we used a regular lightbulb or a LED bulb and I said I wasn't sure I would have to go check, but I thought it was an LED cause she said those don't always work too well and could give a person problems so she suggested I checked that first and changed to a regular lightbulb first before even setting up an appointment we did change it and just as she said the problem stopped and it was all good. We were very appreciative that she was so honest and could've just sold us a new garage door opener at hundreds of dollars we definitely will call them in the future when we do have an issue or need to replace our garage door or door openers as I can see they are a very honest and helpful business.

The work was done in a timely manner, but when I received a bill several months later, that's when the issues began. I believed that the bill was wayyy overinflated for what was done. I called no less than 5-6 times trying to understand why it was so expensive. I was finally given a discount, but some of the work needed to be redone. Again a technician came out promptly to do the work, but it took longer than expected for him to make the repairs. And again, there was an issue with the billing- they wanted me to pay almost $200 more to fix what was initially done. I couldn't believe it. I was told that there wouldn't be any additional charges, as they were fixing what was initially done! And then the owner got involved and he didn't listen to me and was quite rude! I would not recommend that anyone use this company- not because they do bad work, but because their charges are ridiculous and their ability to explain the charges and listen to their customers isn't good. And for the owner to be so insensitive is not acceptable!
