When I called to get the sealants replaced around my garage door, the technician arrived at my home promptly. The work was done in a timely manner, but when I received a bill several months later, that's when the issues began. I believed that the bill was wayyy overinflated for what was done. I called no less than 5-6 times trying to understand why it was so expensive. I was finally given a discount, but some of the work needed to be redone. Again a technician came out promptly to do the work, but it took longer than expected for him to make the repairs. And again, there was an issue with the billing- they wanted me to pay almost $200 more to fix what was initially done. I couldn't believe it. I was told that there wouldn't be any additional charges, as they were fixing what was initially done! And then the owner got involved and he didn't listen to me and was quite rude! I would not recommend that anyone use this company- not because they do bad work, but because their charges are ridiculous and their ability to explain the charges and listen to their customers isn't good. And for the owner to be so insensitive is not acceptable! read more

I've used House of Doors in the past, most significantly in December to replace both springs on my home garage ($500 - one broken but it was suggested to do both). I called apx 4 weeks ago with an issue that the service tech guessed could be the sensors getting condensation. I called 2 weeks ago to get assistance to confirm the issue was my sensors and likely replace them. The service tech was not available but the receptionist took my info. We did have to call several times to set up an appointment to diagnose the problem with our brand new garage unit bought from Sears. When the House of Doors repairman, Curtis, arrived he fixed the opener without calling to first explain the charges. The cost of the repairs on the initial bill for the repair ended up being 2X more than if we had just purchased another brand new unit. Ideally, they would have communicated the costs that would be involved before they had made the repair but ultimately we did negotiate a fair price for the job done. read more

I called House of Doors and within 45 minutes John was in the alley and fixed the door for a very reasonable price in about an hour. We've been having trouble with our garage door for some time. I gave them a ring and the woman I spoke with told me that she'd check out scheduling to see if someone could come by later in the week. I didn't hear back later that day and thought it was a bit odd - until someone called saying they were on their way. Um? I was at work and my man was not around so I kindly let them know that we didn't know they were coming. They nicely rescheduled for the following day - between 8 and 10am. Ok. He'd be home so that worked... Ray arrived, took a look at the garage and said it needed reinforcers and it'd cost $130. With that seemingly affordable estimate, we thought we'd say A-OK and have him do that work. Upon finishing, he gave us the bill which told us we owed $150 and some change. Ok? My bf gave him a check and he was on his way. Two days later, I received an invoice for approximately $250. I figured there had to be a mix-up. My honey was mad but I gave them a call asking what the situation was because we thought we'd squared up with Ray. After waiting on hold twice, there was still a mix-up. Later, Curtis called me back to explain that they were sorry and disregard the invoice for $250 and they found our check. I ordered two overhead doors from them. The service was great. During install, one of the glass windows broke. They ordered a new one from the manufacturer and replaced it quickly. Then, several weeks later (if not months) I contacted them as I needed to get the rails adjusted. They came out immediately and took care of it. The guys are very courteous and professional. Recently a portion of our Wayne Dalton garage door broke with need to order replacement parts. In the meantime we had to remove the door leaving our barn open and unattended when my husband and I both were working. Naturally this made us nervous and I sought out the closest business listed in the area to inquire about the parts and pricing. After never hearing back despite repeat phone call, I went and searched for another dealer via the web. House of Doors was listed and so I placed an inquiry on there webpage which was well put-together. Within 2 hours I received email response from a sales manager Dennis. I identified the parts via their names/location according to the garage door owner's manual, but did not have part numbers. Dennis promptly responded having identified the parts, providing an invoice with pricing, and reporting his appreciation for providing thorough detail of the parts. The parts were in stock, but because of this business being over 2 hours away I asked for pricing for shipping to our home. Again Dennis and Kurt responded quickly and it was even arranged where we could pay for them to expedite the shipping. The cost was reasonable, the customer service was quality and very prompt. Between the initial inquiry via their website at the end of a workday Wednesday, the process was quick enough that our parts arrived Friday. I did read a previous review stating there was a fee for processing credit cards and can confirm this was a part of the total cost, however if a business is smaller and beginning price is reasonable I do not feel this is a deal breaker. Amazing service! Just had John their service tech at the house to replace a broken garage door spring that had us locked out of our garage. We called yesterday and the House of Doors team acted with urgency to have a technician at our door first thing today to make the replacement. John also thoroughly inspected the rest of the system, lubricated all the hinges and provided a very fair price for the repair. I'd like to update my review since the owner of House of Doors added a comment. It's true, the remote control door opener was 5 months old. The House of Doors keeps old-school hours, 9-5 M on-Fri, so keep that in mind if you need to work with them. You have to take time out of your work day. The remote was sold to me in a clear plastic bag with no logos or markings. I had to tear it open to use the item. I returned it in perfect condition in a plastic Ziplock bag. I was never offered a replacement. I was offered the opportunity to purchase an entire new garage door opener system. Didn't seem like a good idea since the conversation was so difficult to begin with. read more

I have an old garage, with old doors, and occasional problems ~ House of Doors has installed one new overhead door with opener a while back, been working great ever since. They have also been out to service our 5 garage doors, new cables and all the accompanying bells and whistles. Great job. Our opener experienced an unscheduled disassembly. We called and were told someone would be out in the afternoon. They then called back to tell us the tech was running late but would be there. We have been using House of Doors for our Garage door needs since we bought our house in 1995. Our garage was built in 1953 so needless to say it's not in the best of shape. They installed a garage door opener about 20 years ago (that was a housewarming gift bought at Sears), replaced the springs when they broke and just installed a new door opener, as the Sears brand had come to an end. The new opener has battery backup and an outside keypad. This will be great when the power goes out so we can still use the opener. Each time we have used them they respond quickly, are fair priced and their service is excellent. Each time the service was provided either that day or the next. House of Doors came through for me just before the start of the 4th of July weekend. I called them yesterday afternoon, & they were able to schedule & confirm a repairman to arrive that same day. My fingers were crossed, but no need once Danny showed up. He was polite & professional, asked to check out the door, then started unloading his tools & got right to work. He somehow got the door level, replaced the cables, straightened the frame, then checked the entire door & tightened any loose bolts, plus did some preventative maintenance. Danny tested the door a couple of times, & it ran more smoothly than it had before. Finding House of Doors on yelp literally saved the day-& the whole weekend! I ordered two new doors with operators for my garages which arrived on schedule and were very professionally installed. Upon installation, I noticed an issue with the window design that did not meet with my expectation/satisfaction. I immediately called my sales rep, Chris, who was also surprised to learn of the issue but who immediately addressed it with the HOD owner and together they called me to address the issue and made sure the issue was fully resolved. Although it took a little extra time and follow up on my side, in the end, House of Doors made everything right and we are now enjoying our beautiful new recessed panel garage doors.
