Company installed a new garage door opener and now that I'm having issues with the opener that was installed last month. They showed me the condition of the springs and it said they would not touch my system because it was dangerous. I showed them my home inspection report that shows the condition of the springs being in the same condition from when I bought the house. They responded that they are now unable to service. I'm revising my original review after a few more developments. My Garage Guy came out because my old garage door opener had stopped working. They tried to fine-tune it, maybe to save me money, but a couple days later, it failed. When I called to let them know, they said they could install a new opener and could be out immediately. I appreciated the quick response, but between the cost of the new opener and installation, the fix ended up being more expensive than expected. Even after the new opener was installed, the door still wobbled when lifted. I was told I'd need a new garage door to fully resolve the issue, which I held off on. At least the opener worked, so I didn't have to lift the door manually. Then a few days ago, the screws securing the lift arm detached from the bracket on the door. Instead of giving My Garage Guy another shot, I called Robert's Garage Door - a company I'd used before and trusted. Luis came out, installed a heavy-duty bracket, and replaced the side wheels. Now the door runs smoothly and feels properly secured. One thing I wish I'd realized earlier: when I reached out to several contractors on Yelp, My Garage Guy responded under the name of a company I had contacted, which led me to believe they were affiliated. My newly installed (within the last several months) garage door opener "quit" working. I contacted Diego and he sent out Armando to fix the issue. Armando was wonderful! Very friendly and pleasant to work with. He listened to my concerns and had the garage door opener working again within 10 minutes. He explained the problem thoroughly and when I mentioned my concern about having to had manually close the garage door after the opener stopped working and there was no lock on the garage door to keep anyone from manually opening it from the outside, he immediately installed a latch lock on the inside of the garage door without any further charges. If I ever need the services of My Garage Guy again, I will definitely request that Armando be the service tech that comes to my home. I only wish that Armando would have been the one to install my garage door and opener originally. But that's a story for another day. read more

Diego was very professional. He was quick at responding to my requested service. My wife told me the garage was broken as I was boarding a plane ; I did a quick service request and Diego within minutes got back to me. By the time I was mid take off Diego was able to provide a quote and would have been out to the house within an hour but I opted to wait until I was at home which was the next day. Diego is completely unprofessional, this company is a total rip off. Do not call them, save yourself a headache and money loss. I called them on October 2023, to replace my dented in garage door and install a new clopay garage door. Initially Diego assured me that he was certified in Clopay doors and knew how to install them. He also told me he does not warranty them. I said that is fine, as long as installed right the first time i didn't expect any issues. So, I went forward, 6 months later on May 25th, 2024 I called him again because suddenly my garage door dropped on one side due to missing shaft straps and track brackets placed to far on the edge of the wood causing the wood to split. This caused my garage door spring to loosen, become undone on one side and the garage door fell, denting the panel. Diego's response was he would charge me $600 for someone to come repair it right away. Not only was he overcharging me to return on missing material he originally caused to put with my install but he was also overcharging me more then 3 times the amount then other competitors. He was taking advante. I felt funny about the call. So I called Overhead Garage Door, they showed me what Diego did wrong and included it in my invoice as proof. I emailed Diego the invoice with pictures of everything. I am not sure why this was missed. I dont even have 1 year of having my new garage door. I asked him to rectify this issue somehow and he has not bothered to respond. Save your money go elsewhere. read more
