Forest put up up my garage door years ago. Yesterday the door was acting weird when it didn't go up. So I unhooked it and manually brought it down. This morning it didn't go up at all. It was stuck. So I called and talked to a dispatcher who told me that a repair person would be to me between noon and two. Repair person arrived by one and got right to work. It's fixed! And after all his work fixing the cable and putting it back where it belonged. Awesome that the company didn't try to upsell or fake the cable and spring needing replacement. Forest assessed why garage remote caused blinking light and sporadic effectiveness on opening/closing door even though the wired control worked okay. We were told to buy a new garage door opener. I googled the problem and learned that the blinking light indicated misaligned safety sensors. After aligning the "green" sensor light with the "amber" sensor light, the remote worked perfectly. We recently bought a fabulous foreclosure where the garage door was all jacked up. After figuring out exactly what we needed, I started calling around to get estimates to fix it. When I called Forest Door they were professional and gave an estimate that was lower than several companies (by $100!) and similar to a few. We decided to go with them. I set up an appointment and the repair guy showed up just about 5-10 minutes after their estimated time. He was a bit perplexed by what had been done to our garage door, and there was some muttering (it was comical, I didn't hear any swearing or anything), but the door was quickly fixed. After he started testing it, another problem became apparent and he told me the piece he would need to replace was $25. I said that was fine and soon the whole thing was working. I think their estimate was $250 (it may have been lower, around $220-230), but the final price with the unexpected replacement was $230. Pretty good. My garage door lights wouldn't come on. The gal that answered the phone gave me several troubleshooting tips all of which I had tried. She then asked what type bulb I was using and when I told her it was one of those new LED types she said sometimes they didn't make contact. On one side all it took was tightening it more, but on the other side i had to replace it with an old style bulb. Now how nice was that? Saved me a service call. read more

The retainer on the garage door had ripped off, and the beams weren't lined up. He told me it would be 95 bucks for a service call, which for the city, is probably pretty average. Ok - so I called Forest Door this morning REALLY kinda paranoid, because someone stole my snowblower out of my garage and I totally believed I didn't leave it open, so now I'm thinking someone hacked my garage door open, but after speaking with Bob who was so kind and helpful at reassuring me that it's not that likely someone hacked my garage and there was just a strong chance the garage didn't close, like I thought it did (still bummer for me and my stolen snowblower). In any event, I still wanted to be reassured that it couldn't happen and wanted to know if there was a security way to prevent hackers and he suggested reprogramming my remotes and told me I could do this from my unit. They charge $95 to come out and do it, but he offered to walk me through it over the phone. How kind and full of customer service was this! Most businesses are in it to make money, no matter the cost or customer issue, but when you find a business that tells you " I hate to charge customers for something that's so simple and something they can do themselves" this let's me know what type of principle this business is built on and it also let me know they will be around for a long time and I will be right there with them giving them my money in the future if I ever need garage door services. These guys came out when I called to replace a crappy set up in my garage. It was put in kind of jerry rigged. they came out right away, quoted it out, and did it when they said and for what they said and did a good job. then like a few years later the orginal spring - not one they put in as they were not replacing the sping just the motor housing- needed to be replaced. They made a special trip and came out same day i called and knocked it out for reasonable price. all their guys have been doing this like a million years and know that the H they are doing. The work is always done quickly, correctly, and cleanly. They don't nickel and dime us like a lot of the other service companies. I have only ever paid the service call and parts. No travel costs. I just had Forest Door Company come out to figure out why my door kept popping up when trying to close it... I figured out that it must be the safety eyes on either side of the garage. Those needed to be adjusted, and the technician found several loose bolts and wires that needed to be secured properly. He took his time and the door is working beautifully!
