They were so enthusiastic about the Gameboy games my fiancé had. It was nice to see them get excited about games that were popular in the 90's and 2000's. We overheard them saying that they typically match whatever GameStop is currently offering in store credit. To our surprise, they gave my fiancé more than GameStop would have if we would've gone there. This is why it matters to support small businesses. I think it was this location where I bought two (count 'em) TWO brand new games where I took them home and found out I was either given a used copy since they keep all the cartridges/discs out of the boxes before the customer purchases them or someone in the store flat out played the new copy and I still got their character's name file and everything I didn't want for something that was full price. I wasn't mad at the time (cuz I didn't know what actually happened till I thought I was maybe given a used game) but it makes me mad that people in game stores do this kind of often. Do they like being rude? That's why now I go to either Target or to other retailers because at least THEY know what they're doing. And they don't push people into buying more stuff at the desk or play their copies of the games either, which I am thankful.

The new look is brightly lit and the magazines and videos have been replaced by racks of toys and playtime clothing. The toy selection has undergone a SERIOUS update. Gone are the cheap items made with dodgy materials from no name manufacturers. They've been replaced with mid and high tier selections for every experience level. The live girl shows are still here. There is a theater upstairs where the video booths used to be. Entry costs money unless you come as a couple. And to help accommodate more weekend fun, the store and theater are now open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday.

She asked Shawn, the manager why they charged her twice the price listed on the package. Shawn told her that prices do increase unexpectedly and that it was employee error. He did not offer her a refund or any other option. My wife was extremely upset when she got home. She said that Shawn told her that there is nothing he can do. My wife was also upset because Shawn did not give her a receipt so she had no proof of the purchase. Luckily she paid using her credit card. I took the card back to GameStop and talked with Shawn. He said that prices go up on items and the posted price was an employee error. He offered me a refund and asked for an ID. I gave him my Army CAC Card and he told me cannot accept the Military ID as proof. I have used this same CAC Card to access the Pentagon, classified areas and airlines but it's not good at GameStop. I have no idea what the pricing policies at GameStop are but it seems that you cannot trust the posted prices. The priced marked evidently does not matter. My 12 year old is very upset and he is going to tell all his friends not to shop at GameStop. The complaining is epic but we move on, trying to reach our destination, which seems to get further with each step. We are on our way to Gamestop, for the Pokemon event. The rule is, if I take the kids here, we have to make the 20min walk instead of being driven. Unfortunately for them, these pokemon events, are always in Winter. This Gamestop is hit or miss. There's one employee here( I'll make sure to catch his name next time) that is one of the best I've experienced. Friendly, knowledgeable, good with kids, he's worth the long, cold, sad march. Sadly, if he's not there, the quality drops. Once, a guy couldn't even answer simple questions about a Wii I was going to purchase. I'm also a little disappointed about a glitch that happened after signing up for the rewards card, that didn't allow me to collect points. I mean, a software store that can't deal with a glitch? Child please! But I digress. The positives certainly outweigh the negatives. Shit, they gave my kids a free virtual pokemon, I can't stay mad at them. So the kids got their Pokemon, we coveted some games and accessories and we made our way out, and into the cold, for the not-as-long as they make it out to be walk home. As they tried to make a deal where if it's any colder next time, we have to drive, I smiled, ready to launch into a "when I was a kid" speech, that would freeze their lazy lips shut.
