Okay selection of retro video games and toys. A bit overpriced and redundant. Overall better than GameStop or another big box type store

Some merchandise I sensed was pricy, but I paid a reasonable price for a famicom repair. I had to wait one month for the repair to be completed. An update that they had the machine to still be worked on every week or two weeks would've been nice. Especially since I had an experience with another unnamed shop that almost lost my machine after two weeks if I didn't remind the people who worked there. Only cause myself and those people had a mutual friend did I get my machine back and a lot of yelling at me that I should've known better than to take a foreign machine to a video game store. It also helps that the commute isn't too bad for me. I also bought a pair of ear buds and they told me about a free drawing for a switch and some free posters I could take. The switch would've been nice, but I'm happy with the service I received. read more

I've had several positive interactions with this store. The salespeople are always nice and happy to help. I've sold a few items that I wanted to get rid of (Xbox dance mats and games to go with) and feel I got a fair value. I haven't had anything repaired here (hopefully I won't need to) but it is nice to know that this place is an option. Their retro game systems and top-tier games are a bit overpriced however if you want said item, it is nice to know you can just buy it rather than scrolling marketplace or craigslist for weeks only to find yourself waiting to meet some stranger in a Wawa parking lot with an item that may or may not be as advertised. Game N Dvd Exchange has a 30-day warranty on all of their systems. I recently bought a Wii with the game cube controller ports so I could play my game cube games on one system. Nice to have a local spot that is trustworthy and well-stocked. This is where I will be doing all of my retro game shopping from now on. read more

So I bought a copy of Donkey Kong country here assuming it would be intact and all that because usually a store that sells second hand products checks them beforehand. There were 3 copies of DK when I went in the store, and yet they sold me the cracked copy of the disk which is impossible to play past World 4 on because the two levels in the fork in the road result in the game crashing everytime you play them. Clearly they were trying to get rid of it, because when I went in a few days later to return it they told me they "can't take it because the disk is cracked" when they're the ones that sold me the cracked disk in the first place. The employees were pretty rude when I went in that day as well, I'm not sure if I went in on a bad day or whatever, but I was not pleased with my experience here and the fact I now have a game of Donkey Kong that I can't play past world 4 on. read more

Exactly as advertised, they stock all your favorite childhood (if you're anywhere on the millennial or the older side of the gen z spectrum) games, consoles, controllers, etc. There's even a box of Atari cartridges in the back. If you're like me and you get worn out by the Streaming Struggle of what to watch, it's fun to walk down to this store and find some $3 sci-fi classic from the 80s or a favorite thriller that isn't featured on any of my streaming services. Blue rays for $6! Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Not intimidating at all to those less familiar with film and video games. read more

This place is okay only because it sells retro consoles and games and controllers. but when you take something there to get fixed and you pay money for it its a rip off. I have a PS2 (fat model) that had a broken disc laser and a broken ribbon cable for the disc laser. I spent 70$ to get it fixed and i bring home and its the same problem it had before i sent it in to get fixed. so basically i spent 70$ for literally no reason at all. read more

Prices are pretty good, and the owner is very knowledgable and down-to-earth. He is very polite, and takes his time with the customer. Best variety that I have ever seen, and nice interior. There is a vast collection of consoles, remotes, and games. While in the store, there were such retro consoles as the Gameboy Micro, N64, Gamecube, and 32X, as well as some newer consoles such as the xbox 360 and the PS4. They have games spanning from the NES all the way to the PS4. read more

This place is not a rip-off in any way. It's been around for about 10 years now. The dude jack who used to own the place was a real piece of work. But the dude who runs it now is awesome. He will take the time to help you out with what you need or want. He may be on the phone or appear uninterested at times, but trust me he's a nice guy once you start talking to him. Also, if you want to trade in games, he will pay more than GameStop by a large margin. Just don't bring in your old DVDs expecting a gold brick in return. that being said, call before you go because sometimes It's closed when it should be open. read more

We need places like this around. This review is written in hopes that the owner will take constructive feedback to improve his business. Also, note that the Drexel Hill store is closing and the Media store will be the new home. Firstly, awesome that there is a retro game store around. Store has some rare and collectible stuff too. Prices are reasonable, especially for a retail store. What could use a little help is the relationship between the owner/employees and the customer. The owner is rough. Typically Delco or something of the sort. He doesn't say hello or greet his customers. You could roam around in the small store for awhile until someone even looks at you. He talks to his employees instead of you which is backwards. Clearly he doesn't have the focus he should. Customers first. For someone owning a retro game store, he doesn't seem to know much about games...at least not as much as the gamers who come in to buy them. Seems more like he's just in business of flipping stuff. Would be nice to have an approachable guy with some passion around what he's doing. This would make the interaction better and would bring in repeat customers to see what's new (or old in this case), talk about some stuff casually. Like a music store or something, where everybody knows your name. Create a little community. Maybe he's done some of this but I've been in here a few times and just feel like I'm an annoyance to the owner. He's just rough around the edges. Not a people person. Shouldn't be the face of the business unless he really changes his attitude, how he talks, and if he talks to customers. Also, the website is awful. I couldn't even easily find contact info anywhere. It's not interactive, serves no purpose since you can't really do anything on it, and is very amateur. love the place. There is a great selection of games and things to accessorize with. The staff is great and helpful. They give good offers when you sell them stuff and they sell things at fair prices. They always have new things and retro. Its like a game stop on steroids. It has a amazing location in media so you can easily walk there and there is a lot of parking close. Went to the store over the weekend with some friends. Things were a bit over priced but staff was friendly and willing to negotiate. Returned today to pick up some stuff I had my eye on earlier and decided to pull the trigger. I return alone and after an initial greeting by staff; I was largely ignored. After waiting 15 minutes to see if anyone would offer to help me; I realized it would be up to me remind the staff that I was still there. After speaking to the gentleman about the game I was interested in; I was informed that the price had magically increased 30% over night on the game. (A copy of MARIO advance)Every time I try to support a local mom & pop store instead of the internet I'm reminded why I hate shopping. I went home and picked up the game online for literally half of what they were charging. What was even more annoying is that I drove the 30 or so miles from Philly to make the purchase. Because like I said; I want to support stores like this. It'll be my last time making this mistake. If I wanted to be overcharged with a side of bad service; I'd of gone to gamestop. It's much closer and I'd know what to expect going in. read more

I always like to try and support small business so I was thrilled to find this place! It was well worth my travel from Philadelphia, it was an incredible a store! Mark the owner helped me so much when it came to finding an N64 with 007 to surprise my husband with as a belated birthday present! He insured everything I needed was ready and waiting for me when I arrived. Ryan took excellent care of me once I got to the store he had just finished making sure everything was up and running, before selling it to me. The store was filled with an awesome collection of all sorts of gaming collections and DVDs. Their prices were more then reasonable. Friendly staff, great retro & modern game selection at reasonable prices. They had a ton of games on the wall and many more under glass or behind the counter. I also used their VHS to DVD conversion services for 10 tapes and they came out great. I enjoy coming here way more than a Game Stop. I will definitely return and continue to give them my business. This store is a rip off, do not purchase anything from it. Went in to purchase a sega dremcast, the owner and his son assured me it would work, well it did not. I went to try to return the system as well as the 2 games and controllers I purchased. The owner said they didn't except returns, only store credit. So I then tried to get something for my xbox one, which they have absolutely NOTHING for. Long story short, they pretty much stole my money. This store is a rip off and they are selling products that do not work. read more
