We were hunting for Smiskis and found only two boxes, which the staff had kindly set aside behind the counter -- they were super nice and helpful about it. Just a heads-up, there's a small upcharge if you pay with a card (which is becoming more common in the area). They have a pretty large Sanrio selection and some snacks and candies too. The store is clean, well-organized, and check-out was fast and easy. It's a little on the pricey side though. While I've heard they sometimes follow customers around to prevent shoplifting, that didn't happen to me, but I can see how it might feel awkward if you're browsing slowly or being indecisive. Still, the overall experience was pleasant, and it's definitely worth a visit if you're into cute collectibles or gifts.

So with the Blondie single mentioned below, that's $11 I threw in the garbage. Not cool. Price is going to really depend on what you are after. I snagged bunch of CD and cassette singles at $1-3, but then I saw a Deee-Lite 12" single I would have liked priced at 5X what it sells for anywhere else in the same condition. Of the three staff I interacted with, two were really cool and helpful and one was *actively* unkind. Also, double check your stuff. I bought a Debbie Harry CD single and they only charged me $3, but I didn't check the disc and it had total disc rot so I had to throw it away. That's on me for not checking, but also on them for putting it out to begin with. No reason not to check the place out, but def. a caveat emptor vibe.

Has a good mix of pop culture collectable stuff. Buttons, dolls, toys, novelties. You can't touch anything though, there are several signs. I didn't notice them at first and the owner very passive aggressively brought them to my attention. I can understand not wanting children to mess with them or people break your items but seriously? When you walk in there are hundreds, if not thousands, of records to choose from. Admittedly, I often don't look at the records, but it seems that their organization is done by genre then alphabetical. And if you are looking for tapes, they are across from the register mounted on the wall of the record section. They have the largest collection of sealed tapes I've ever found! Further back in the store they have their CD section. I knocked off a star since I would LOVE if they gave the same attention to the CDs as they do to the records. They did some rearranging recently of the back section of the store and it was such a downgrade for us CD lovers. Instead of them being separated by genre, they are mostly all thrown together and then in alphabetical order. They are also in a display that makes it hard to easily scan through each one. Before, they had them so it was super easy to scan the display and read all the labels placed at the top of the package. I would LOVE if they brought their old display back. In the back section they also have store merch, used CDs, posters, and some vintage tees. They also used to sell artwork of damages LPs, but I have't seen that in awhile so I'm not sure they do that anymore.

They did a good job keeping the number of customers inside manageable. I was a little underwhelmed by the selection - although I go there around 3pm on a busy day. I was impressed by some of the older items in stock, and that it wasn't just recent horror hits. I honestly think I have better selections on my bookshelf at home than I saw at the store. I do like that they have the sections of crime, horror, psych thriller, etc. The psych thriller section (my fave) did not appeal to me as much. The vibe inside was giving grunge/halloween, & it was dimly lit. They did have VHS tapes and DVDs that were $1. Books are about $15+ from what I've noticed.

HIGH volume of interesting pieces, all artfully arranged. It feels like you've walked into the closet of the coolest chick you know (or dude-- they've got men's clothing to and a limited selection of kids stuff). Owner has an amazing eye for the special and unusual. She is supa sharp, friendly and FLY, toting both a cool life story & of how the store came to be. Chatting with her and her staff through my visit made for a fun shopping experience. Aw they got some sweet lil' puppies in dere too. Lovin' that. All the clothing I inspected- I am a shopper who dallies- was in impeccably good condition. I am not normally the type to blow a lot of dough in one place but I developed romantic relationships with several items and, even after strategically leaving the store to spend the afternoon thinking over whether or not I REALLY wanted them, I returned because turns out I REALLY REALLY DID. At this vintage boutique, the quality and one-of-a-kind nature of the piece comprises the price, which, though not cheap, is worth it if you are the type that cares for your clothes properly. You know what? I am not even one of those people- I'd call my style that of the "funky-slob"- but 2% to glory makes me want to start handwashing and putting in the effort. They've got the goods, now I just need to instill the care habits. I also proposed consignment to the owner, who said "Why not?" though I have yet to drop things off. I'm just happy she's even into the idea, because I see no other way to continue shopping there 'til I have secured a big girl jerb. Though soon as I do, I'll be prowling this joint on the reg.
