The vinyl are reasonable priced and the customer service is exceptional. The store has great selections and I'm definitely due for a visit. Absolutely horrible customer service. I walked into the store this afternoon and the douchebag at the counter asked me if " I smoke the pipe". He then told me that I smelled funny and wanted to know if I smoke weed. I tried to avoid a conversation and just went about browsing their collection when he then asked me to leave because he said I made him feel light headed!! I left without saying a word. I don't know if this person was an employee or the actual owner but needless to say I will never be here again and I hope this business bites the dust because they are just ignorant and extremely unprofessional. read more

You know what, as a businessman to some extent myself, I live by a simple business credo in life. It's called "Do what you say you're going to do". Based on other reviews here, this place appears to have a problem with keeping its own hours properly. This isn't an isolated incident apparently. It's just not always open when they say it will be open. I know running a small business is tough. But unless you have a family emergency, you really should be open at 12:30 pm on a Saturday if your store hours say you're open at noon. Otherwise I've always liked it here. I like supporting places like this. I have found good stuff here in the past at great prices. But come on... Even the Compact Disc Outlet in Norwood managed to be open today. It's a good place. But showing up and finding it closed is a drag. read more

Awesome place. Its small but the selection is great. As soon as you enter they have DVDs for $2. I got a few goodies there. They also sell bluerays and box sets. The tv shows are on the upper shelves. The movies are below them. In the middle are the cds. They also have a horror selection all to its own. Along with wrestling dvds. Im a huge fan of both horror and wrestling. So I love that section. They also have a music dvd selection. Concerts and what have you. The cds are NOT in the cases so youll have to get them from behind the counter. They have great deals there. Go check them out. Stop at Gateway diner for a bite to eat before or after you go in. Finally got around to coming here after years of saying I should. Forgot to ask if the name has anything to do with Sam Goodys but that may have pissed them off. I'm glad places like this still exist. I was a huge fan of Plastic Fantastic in Ardmore and while this place is much smaller, it's packed with gems. I didn't buy anything the day I went. I mostly browsed. I need to find out if the sign I saw that said something about 3 CDs for $10. Wasn't sure if that was for any or just select ones. Next time I'm planning on getting some that I had my eyes on but the listed $5-$10 per CD seems a little steep considering the medium is going extinct. That 3fer deal would be welcomed. Admittedly, I find the need for actual, real world ,tangible music CDs less necessary with digital music, but its nice that the media is still alive and ill support is when I can. read more

If you don't mind digging a bit, you can find some amazing deals in Goodies. I left with 4 Patti Smith records, and each was only $2. Worth checking out as the prices on cd's and records are both great, and you will even find alot of sealed items! A friend who was with me also bought a used video game for half what he would likely pay elsewhere... Definitely plan to spend some time here, as not everything is sorted, and the unsorted parts have the best deals! read more

This place is awesome. Super nice employees and the prices are good too. The guy working on weekend knows literally everything about any genre, which is really cool. Would give 5 stars if they carried older games like NES, SNES, and N64, but they choose to stick to the newer stuff. read more

If you manage to go when someone is there it's okay. Three times now I've gone on a Saturday and left because no one is there within a 1/2 hour of the time they say they open - 12:00. If you do get someone there to open the store their selection is decent and prices are fair. They could definitely use a bigger space as they have loads of CDs piled unorganized below the racks and the aisles themselves can get tight if the store gets a handful of people in. It's frustrating because it could be a VERY good record store but unfortunately falls flat compared to the best ones out there. read more

If you are looking for used CDs or DVDs, or even records or tapes, Goodies is the place to go. I have been coming here for almost 15 years and it's still my favorite place to pick up some music. Joe, the owner, is always friendly and can help you to find rare items. Kenny, another employee, is great too, and it's fun running into him because he used to hang out with my parents at the Tower in the 1970s. Until the end of March every CD that is marked $7.99 in the store goes for $5. On my most recent visit I picked up Miles Davis' 'Kind of Blue,' Thelonious Monk's 'Monk's Dream,' and a best of Warren Zevon collection. Every time I visit home I make sure to make a stop at Goodies! read more

Me and my boyfriend stopped in today to shop some vinyl. I was excited to check out a local spot and support local business. However, we were not even in the store 5 minutes when we overheard the cashier having a conversation about how the work of black and queer artists could not be compared to white artists. Me and my boyfriend are gay, and were quite offended so we left. Just be aware this store is not LGBT friendly. Find somewhere else to buy your vinyl. read more

This place is stacked to the rafters with VHS tapes, CD's, and vinyl. The vinyl selection was impressive: I've never seen so many Strawbs albums in one place! read more

This place is amazing! Ever since digital music and iTunes, my record store experiences have dwindled down to almost nothing. Being a late 80's early 90's METALHEAD only adds to the frustration of being able to find something in the handful of stores that exist. ENTER GOODIES!!! This store is stacked to the brim with music and a great metal section that is always getting updated. The isles are small and you can literally turn around and knock a stack of records over, however that only adds to the joy of the hunt. I have found some rare albums, albums that I needed and albums that I didn't know I wanted. Greg, who mostly works weekends is nothing short of awesome. He knows his stuff, offers the best service possible and will always be there for conversation. As long as goodies is here, I shall not need to go anywhere else.
