Part of it is a retro video game store with lots of console options, going back to Atari. Some interesting finds here for sure, if you are a collector or enjoy retro gaming. The arcade section is $15 for the entire day of unlimited play. You can also come and go as you please. There are a lot of good options there including Street Fighter 4, Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 7 for those fighting game fans. There are also some interactive games like Dance Dance Revolution and shooting games (House of the Dead) which can be fun. I am not sure there is enough there to keep someone there for longer periods of times...unless they are hardcore fans of the game. I believe this is only worth the cost if can spend a longer time (half-day/day) there. You can play some games, leave and do somthing else (eat?) and return later in the day to play some more. There are a few eating options including a brewery nearby along the main street. I was happy to see that all of the games I tried worked perfectly. No issues with any joysticks or buttons. went here for my birthday with friends on a random tuesday and had soooo much fun. the owner saw it was my birthday and took $10 off the gamecube game i was buying which was so sweet, and especially it being my first time there it for sure made me want to come back. the selection the video game store side has is incredible!! decently priced too :) i really love how it is $15 for an arcade day pass and you can leave and come back as much as you please! it's also nice knowing i can practice getting better at all the rhythm games they have available without having to pay every swipe. chunithm, sound vortex, groove coaster, wacca, dance dance revolution, and many more!! i will 100% be going back :*) read more

Nice Grand opening event. The mayor and another government representative with her 10 year old excited son was here. Family friendly activities for the Lansdale community. Nicely located in Lansdale's downtown neighborhood. Entrance for this place is through Classic Game Junkie's store entrance. The setup and partnership make sense. Some word of mouth advertising for TooManyGames convention and Dicey Situations board games too. It is easy to mix up the video game merchandise being sold and the arcade portion. The arcade portion is under Retroware Arcade, but all of the video game cartridges and such sold are sold on the Classic Game Junkie storefront. So, the video game cartridges, accessories, and such being sold on one side is technically not part of Retroware Arcade. Great variety of games- some Japanese and AVGN (Angry Video Game Nerd) for modern video game retro-ish culture. They really know the vibe. They want to have YouTube presenters and video game tournaments here and not just be a place to play only. I think this place will do well, and I think there is enough interest. Especially with the networking. The space is a bit small and it was too crowded on Grand Opening Day, but fun to be had for all. read more

I brought my 8 year old grandson here on Wednesday and we had a blast. I never got into arcade games when I was younger, but most are not difficult to figure out, especially when you have an 8 year old to help you. I thought the people who ran the place were super nice and accommodating. The place was clean and the other kids there were having a blast too. I'd highly recommend this place and, I just have to say it again, the two people I dealt with from Retroware were very nice to me and to my grandson. read more

As others have said, nice place to go on a rainy day. Everything in good to great shape. Only gripe would be the minimal selection of 80's classics vs. obscure (to me) JDM imports, which seemed about half the floor. I love the idea behind the store and that it even exists, its great to see the main street in Lansdale revitalized, and if you have an interest you should check them out. read more

Retroware arcade is a great time if you just want to relax and play some games or even if u are an enthusiast about arcade games from both the western end of gaming and the japanese end of gaming. The arcade has rhythm games, fighting games, arena battle games, and so much more. I was blown away when I walked in. Even on their first day open of the soft launch, they had so much to offer. This has now become my main arcade I play SMX at. Highly recommended. It's also near great food and drinks since it's on the main strip. Go here. Okay so before you read any of this, note that it's a five star review. I wholeheartedly recommend checking this place out both for the well-organized well-stock game store attached to the arcade and for the arcade itself. This is all just nitpicks and worries for the venue. I went to the grand opening and even with the surprisingly massive crowd had a great time. Admission was 5 dollars, but normally it's 15 for a day pass. 15 dollars if you plan to spend 3+ hours there is a steal, but obviously not worth it if you just want to browse or only play one game. It's the biggest trade-off for "Freeplay" style arcades. You pay to get in, but you can play any game as much as you want. Or someone else can. They have a lot of hard to find Japanese cabs (that are *in* Japanese) here, and they even seem to be connected to their authentication servers (meaning you can use special membership cards, sold separately, to track progress). The problem is that someone who is came out to grind on the same game you did can just box you out entirely. They can hunker down and continue infinitely until they have to leave whereas normally, eventually they'd run out of credits and be forced off the machine. This also can make games of skill slightly less satisfying to play. I can beat House of the Dead on a single credit, but I can't walk up to the machine on my lunch break and do that. It's still 15 bucks. Not really worth it. Again, just another downside of the freeplay format. Lastly, there's no age restriction to enter. This is more a worry I have for their mechanic than the venue itself. Some of these machines are harder to repair than others so having very young kids really slam on them might end up causing this arcade to decay faster than like a Barcade. It's 50 cents to park in the lot across the street for 6 hours. No food or drink allowed. Thanks for reading. read more

Whenever I visit my boyfriend in Lansdale we ALWAYS go here at least once. We love the rhythm games, and we always buy something from the shop too. Last time we got gacha tokens for the machine and the time before we had gotten a couple figures. Def recommend! It's never too busy either. ONLY 15 DOLLARS FOR UNLIMITED PLAY TIME!
