What a fun thing to do! We didn't know what to expect and want to say we all really enjoyed the experience! Admission was reasonable and enjoyed the self-guided part while waiting for the next tram departure time. There was everything you could imagine - except one thing! A TELEX MACHINE (which I used to operate). When I asked the staff if they had one none of them even knew what I was talking about (early 20's)! We took the tram tour and really enjoyed it. The tram moved at a nice pace so you could really take in everything. So much to see - everywhere. It was a really fun way to spend a few hours on a rainy day! It's like an I-Spy book came to life! This collection is massive but I really appreciate how well organized and categorized it is. It makes it easier for the eye to take in. The tram car goes at a super slow speed so you have time to take everything in. The tour is guided by a pre-recorded audio track but sometimes the driver will provide information as well. The museum also has a small walkable area to explore. There's also popcorn, candy, and drinks to purchase. Some of the items are truly impressive and there's definitely plenty for everyone to point out and find and enjoy. Highly recommend this fun attraction. read more

This place is beyond words. Such a unique experience unlike any other tour I've done. Don't let the weird, random location throw you off. I could tell my family was a little skeptical showing up to what looked like an industrial mall complex. Upon walking in, there is very little signage and it feels like you entered one of the factories. Head towards the stair and them up to be transported. I booked tickets for my entire family, which included grandparents and my kids (both 5 years old). Basically the tour includes a tram ride through a collection of objects that span generations. There was literally something that everyone could pick out and enjoy. For the grandparents, it was the old classic cars and ads. For me, growing up in Pennsylvania, I saw recognizable holiday decorations, Halloween masks that I had from my childhood and of course nothing beats the old Chucky Cheese animatronics that still operate on the tour. I can see how the creators of the horror movie franchise "Five Nights at Freddie's" came up with their concept! There is an audio guide that tells you all about the key objects along the way from their mystery donor. Nobody would say who it was, and it adds to the allure of it all. The time flew by and everyone stayed awake. We visited in November, and recommend coming prepared for a chilly indoor experience since the tram takes you around a gigantic industrial factory. Meaning: they're not going to be pumping in heat to that entire space so it can get pretty chilly, even if you're cozying up with your seatmate. After the tour, there is a small store that you can browse along with more historic objects including record players, jukeboxes and telephones including the old Mickey Mouse phone that I always dreamed of owning as a kid. There's so much you see and learn on the 45 minute tram tour and even more in the walking portion I would definitely come back here and see what they've added to the collection. We visited the American Treasure Tour Museum a week or so ago, and we had such a good time. But how to describe it?! The American Treasure Tour Museum is 100,000 square feet of Americana pop culture. An anonymous benefactor collected the countless items in the collection (millions?!) and created the museum so that the public could experience it. The collection has carousel band organs, movie posters, classic cars, neon signs, vintage toys, and a thousand other things. It's so hard to describe, but it's full of kitsch and history and charm. The museum has some areas you can wander through, but the main way to experience the collection is through a narrated tram tour (the trams leave once an hour on the half hour). It's really unique and fun, and I think almost anyone would enjoy visiting the museum. I recommend it if you're in the area! read more

My partner and I drove up from the DC area to come here today. We both are so happy we did. First, we walked through the music room, which is filled with old-time musical instruments, player pianos, albums, phones, models, etc, etc. So much fun to walk around and see all the stuff and history in here. Then, there's a tram ride through a warehouse filled with all kinds of things - old advertisements, cars, a statue of the Pep Boys, the Chuck-e-cheese band, posters, sections focused on Christmas displays, circus history, a lot of working animatronics . . . it's almost overwhelming the variety of things you see on the tour. But it's all presented well, with a recorded explanation of some of the items and a helpful tram driver/tour guide. We loved it. Spent about 90 minutes here in total - loved it. Spoke to some people who were leaving around the same time we were and the groups, some retired folks, some parents with small kids, and a working couple, all agreed it was well worth the trip and admission price. read more

SO fun! It's a little drive from Philly but so worth it! Very cool collection you get to see and go through and super cheap fun thing to do.

MUST GO! Quick 1 to 2 hour activity if you want 45 mins at a minimum! QUICK 30 min golf cart like ride inside a 1mill sq ft warehouse. Incredible collections of nostalgia and vintage history... a bit of something for all ages to look at from restuarant signs, mcds memorabilia, Ford cars, stuffed animals, Christmas holiday decor, children masks, canvas paintings, Chuck e cheese old mechanical singing machines, etc. There is just so much to see. It's a cool spot to check out, but my review is 3 stars because it's very overpriced IMO. It's a warehouse full of a lot of random nostalgic items. I feel like people 60+ would appreciate it most, but again it's expensive for a museum that you will probably spend only an hour at. While the sheer volume and variety of items is undeniably impressive--and yes, there's some cool, rare, even nostalgic stuff in the mix--it honestly felt more like wandering through a hoarder's oversized storage unit than visiting a curated museum. It triggered every fear I have about dust mites, bed bugs, and all the creepy crawlies that thrive in dark corners and vintage upholstery. I've been wanting to go to this place forever. I finally made it and boy was it worth it! There was so much to look at! You could spend all day here and always see something different. I love pop culture and nostalgia and this place was a huge dose of it. The price was reasonable as well. In addition to the tram, they did have a portion of a walking tour, as well as a gift shop which was an adventure in and of itself. The only downside for me was I wish they offered a walking tour of the whole place.... I feel like that would take hours but I would love a closer look at more of those items. This place is hard to describe--in the best way! Entering the large, seemingly empty warehouse leads to a remarkable museum floor upstairs. We were warmly greeted, and the experience began with the enchanting sounds of player pianos and music boxes. With a tram ride and plenty of exhibits, there's endless entertainment. So confused on the stellar reviews for this place. I will say it's different and definitely a place you do not come by often. As you enter, you can tell it is dated and felt very basement-ey. First thought "what did I get us into?" Took the tour and saw some nostalgic and interesting pieces but everything just seemed like it was thrown in with no thought process. All in the party kept saying this would be a perfect setting for a horror film. The youngest in our crowd (5 years old) kept her eyes closed the entire time and was scared and was for sure she was going to have nightmares. Wowza! Eastern Pennsylvania is full of hidden gems and places to visit and this place might just be the MOTHER of all unique, interesting, and stop-worthy roadside attractions. A tribute to all things Americana, I don't even know quite where to begin to describe this collection. The collector wishes to remain anonymous so that visitors can focus on his collection and it is housed in a former tire factory. The space is just massive. So big that it requires a tram to take guests through to see everything. I can tell you that if I weren't on a time-crunch, I would have paid to take the tram tour again to catch some of the things I didn't see the first time. Your eyes don't know where to look first (although there is a narrated recording describing key items) while you are on the tram. There is also a walk-through portion which is duly interesting. You will see everything from old-fashioned calliopes to gigantic retail signs from defunct restaurants to the band from Chucky Cheese to Christmas animatronics to replicas of mansions in dollhouse form to dolls to antique classic cars to mummers costumes (that's like Philly's version of Mardi Gras) to vintage ride vehicles from former amusement parks. I really was in sensory overload. The staff is quite friendly and I wish I would have asked more questions. Like.....where does the restoration take place for each of these items? In-house? Do they have contractors who come in to get these objects up and running? Some of the animatronics blew me away. Over 100 years old, but still work like new. I can't even imagine how much it must cost to maintain this collection, but I can't wait to come back again and feast my eyes on more and bring my son. There is something for all ages here. Truly something that every cohort can appreciate and relate to. If you are Gen X like me, you will be in shock and in awe. If you are a kid, your eyes will light up at all of the moving objects. If you are a Baby Boomer, you'll fall in love with the nostalgia. I can't say enough good things about this place. Please keep a seat warm for me on the tram for my next visit. read more

Family friendly fun and a unique diversion from the daily grind. This was an unexpected pleasure of an experience, and a quirky trip down memory lane. I wasn't sure what exactly to expect when we were given tickets as a gift a while back. The tour experience is about an hour's drive away for us, but was well worth it! The staff were pleasant, professional and incredibly knowledgeable about the pieces within this eclectic collection. There was honestly so much to see along the tram ride that there's no way possible to see it all even with multiple rides. Not only was this a fun experience, it was also one rich with historical value. My daughters even loved the experience and want to return again soon. As we visited during the pandemic, masks and social distancing were in place. We were the only ones on our tram ride which made it an even more memorable experience. The tram navigates through a massive warehouse which is busting at the seems with memorabilia, childhood toys, automobiles, carnival collections, Guinness Book of Records items, store displays, sports memorabilia, miniature scenes/dioramas, musical items/instruments, and so much more. Completely unexpected, but expected......... The only thing missing was a kitchen sink!!!!! A collector's dream!!!!! The collected and acquired items help restore the original Dream of the American heartbeat. Circus memorabilia, antique cars, vintage dolls, movie posters, storefront statues, children's toys, musical instruments, puppets, motorcycles, even a gas powered wheelchair!!!! And so much more!!!! This was a really cool experience! I found information for this tour online and it was fairly inexpensive -- $15 per person and they do give a senior and military discount. There is a gift shop located downstairs, but it wasn't open during our visit, so I'm assuming they're either closed on weekends or just have different hours in general than the tour does. We walked in and made our way upstairs. I purchased tickets on site, but you can also do so online! The website recommends purchasing online because their tour could sell out, which had me worried at first, but upon arrival, there were maybe 8 people total on our tour. They have two different sections -- the toy of and the music room. The first is a guided tram ride and the other is your standard, self guided, 'please don't touch the things behind the rope' tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, but the tram ride tour was my favorite. The only bummer is you're not allowed to go back through on foot! There's a lot to see and it's hard to take it all on while you're listening to the driver give his presentation, so it would have been nice to be able to go back and get a closer look. Regardless, it was really fun and we had a blast looking at the miniatures in the music room too. This collection is only 1/8 and is growing everyday! They won't tell you whom the collector is, but there is a team to contact in case you have anything out of the ordinary you're looking to get rid of. Such an amazing collection of items that you wouldn't expect. I was entertained! Would return!

The HUGE HUGE old tire factory in Oaks, PA was turned into a spot that many businesses, that require a lot of space, use to entertain or sell people (you and me) stuff. (Furniture stores - Go Kart tracks - American Treasure items that number in the hundreds of thousands of pieces - maybe even millions) My 2 sons and I paid $25.00 This is a laid back museum that shows a collectors collection. I love this kind of stuff! The first room is the music room - hundreds of piano and upright music boxes. One plays full size violins and you could get very close to see how they all worked. There is a wall of old radios and tables and table of miniatures and shadowboxes. It's crazy! the rafters and wall hold record albums from all eras. (Remember - this used to be a factory - the rooms are huge and the ceilings are high.) The next room has everything from cars, jeeps organs, signs, motorcycles, movie posters, toys, trains, old video electronics, etc. It would take less time to tell you what is NOT in the room. Next you get on an electric tram and they drive you around to multiple other rooms full of signs and large heads of presidents. More bikes and airplanes (100s of them) and clowns (eww) and TV personalities and animation art and three stooges and large Sony Walkmans, etc. The place is insane. A hoarders dream but all neatly placed in groups. If you missed something on the tram ride. Too bad - you can't walk back there like you can the first two rooms. The bad - the audio didn't work on the tram and it was hard to hear the tour guide. The rooms were on the darker side and it was hard for my boys to get sharp photos. The two overhead lights near the Vespa Cars were humming so loud (bad ballast is my guess) I could hardly hear my boys and it drove me nuts. The only reason I knew it was a tire factory is that I over heard the tour guide on the tram before us. Ours never mentioned it. That seemed pretty important to me. Located in an old tire factory in Oaks, PA (in the vicinity of The Dump), American Treasure Tour is...peculiar. Essentially you'll see a collection of what your Aunt Gertrude, the hoarder, might have put together if she had unlimited financial resources. I wanted to love it -- I'm a bit of a collector myself and love pop culture and museums -- but the displays were wildly erratic and jumbled, and often the staging made little sense. The museum's music room was actually one of the most fascinating aspects to me with a stellar collection of player pianos and other musical gadgets, including self-playing violins, set to play, one after another. And, as a longtime miniature enthusiast, I also enjoyed the various dollhouses throughout the room. But again, there seems little rhyme or reason to the collection. The tram tour was rough. It was an unusually hot and muggy day, and the general museum is not air-conditioned. There are a lot of cool things -- one of the first Corvette cars, some wonderful mechanical Christmas displays originally housed in store windows, an interesting collection of mechanized airplanes (kind of difficult to see as they were all above us) -- and the tour guide was great and seemed genuinely enthusiastic. There's no avoiding the odor of just so much old junk. I felt like it stayed with me long after leaving. And the lighting could be better, as could the comfort level. But keep in mind if you've read this far: I come from a family of hoarders and have to curb the tendency in myself. That may have colored my experience. You may just love it! read more
