Dont come here if you plan on waiting outside for releases, especially with your kids. Because the workers and manager will let people who cut go in, until people speak up and then allow the cutter to go in, tell them something and have them "leave". Well when we all got in and got the last two packs, 10 minutes later driving by the cutter came back. And in the video you see him opening TWO packs that store saved for him. We were the last two people to get our packs , but when we counted how many people were in line there was enough for two more packs. Lo and behold the manager and worker kept it for this cutter to come back once everyone leaves. HOW SHAMEFUL, especially when it would have gone to kids!!!! I decided to open a pack and give some to the kids because what disgusting behavior is this!!! There were over 4-5 people complaining to the manager and door person yet they kept saying he has been here, when he was not ! He even told someone that he isn't in line and slowly he migrated his way into the line. There were people who said he does this all the time each time and the store just allows it. And now there's proof that they even saved packets. Franchise or not, I hope corporate does something about this. Horrible! read more

GameStop - Line cutter and store saved Pokémon cards for him!!! - Videos & Video Game Rental Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Shoutout to Jesse at GameStop! I went in to submit Pokémon cards for grading and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jesse was extremely meticulous and careful, handling my cards like they were his own. He took the time to make sure everything was done properly, which really put me at ease. On top of that, he was friendly, relatable, and easy to talk to. If you're bringing in collectibles that matter to you, Jesse is definitely the person you want helping you out. Highly recommend! read more

Came here for the Shiny Pokemon distribution. Instead of giving them to people who actually came for them, they handed stacks of them to scalpers and random people who didn't know about it, and people who actually came for just that were left with nothing. Poor handling, and the guys really only did it so the TCG scalpers would stay and give them money. How do I know this? 50 codes were given to the store and 20 people were Infront of me when I came, but I still didn't end up with a code. Type of greed they talk about in the Bible read more

GameStop - Did not want to honor the price on the tag, even though I asked multiple associates if the tag was correct. - Videos & Video Game Rental Near Me - Los Angeles, California

This place sucks. Final, came in here trying to buy some Pokémon cards and they said they're out of stock. I know this is a lie because a few days ago I had asked if they had anything and they opened a cabinet full of sleeved booster packs. Stellar crown, Twilight Masquerade etc. just today I over hear an employee tell one of his buddies to come later and they'll have some. Overall bad place and bad experience. Straight up lie to costumers read more

Update your hours. It's really simple. I generally don't expect much from a gamestop as far as service goes so the bar is low, but Letting customers know when you're actually open is the first step to decent customer service. They don't open until 11am. Annoyingly waisting customer's time. read more

Unhelpful, inattentive, unprofessional. I could list few other "qualities" of the associate, but I'd spare me the time. Without even verifying Joanna stated buy 3 get 2 free is online only deal. I checked online before coming, so I showed her the promotion online. I guess, that ticked her off. Because she wouldn't "find" the game even if it says available in that particular store. Finally, Natasha (manager/mod) found the games which 2 of the other SA (including Joanna) couldn't "find". The store is well organized, but needs some serious attention from the management. The tags are wrong (SA wouldn't honor it), total unwillingness of looking for products if they're not on display, not "finding" the dvd when u find the case from display, gossiping or chatting with each other while guests are in store, asking each other to ring the customer while standing idle. Most of the stuffs can be done with attitude adjustment & attentiveness of the management. As a pro member & shareholder of GameStop, I'm truly & utterly disappointed at Joanna's behavior & the store as a whole read more

Pretty disappointed but I suppose not surprised by the typical GameStop behavior. I bought a PS4 control with a warranty for a year because I know they're trash and always accumulated unwanted drift. Upon 7 months of having the control I went for an exchange. I was turned away due to them being "out of stock" I was not offered to have it shipped to me, which I now know is an option. I called again for weeks in a row and upon finally being able to go in I was ignored for 15minutes and when I finally asked for assistance with the locked product an associate offered the guest who just walked through the door help first. Lmao because they were both white I suppose and I'm not. I left. I was pissed. I give this place another chance. I go back for a headset and after looking up three or four different one's and reviews for each I settle on a headset on sale for $59.99 The manager helps me and begins to ring it up after letting me know it's the last headset of that kind. She then says.. "oh.. I'm sorry but it's actually not on sale either. It's still going to be the original $70" Wtf? Since when? You don't advertise a price and then change it AS YOURE RINGING IT UP. Honestly this place needs a change of staff lmao. Wow. read more

GME to the MOON. Wall Street Betters aside, this location is lovely. Staff is friendly, nerdy, knowledgeable and just fun to be around. It's smack dab in the middle of a busy street but there's usually parking available along side streets - if you're driving. I can't remember the last time I preordered from a GameStop and the staff called me to let me know my game was in. THIS is customer care. I would call them in advance for big purchases (consoles). Check out their merch section, as I've found some super awesome clothes and collectibles on my way in to do what every grown man does - buy Pokémon and Zelda games every time they're available. Legend has it that if you tell them Sagoni sent you, they'll give you a 000% discount on all merchandise. But you didn't hear that here. read more

THIS STORE REALLY NEEDS TO BE CLEAR ABOUT THEIR POLICIES! So came I in there earlier today to try and trade in my switch lite, and the guy told me they couldn't take it cause it was missing the power adapter. I told them okay I'll come back later that evening with everything. Fast forward to this evening, and the chick pulls out this ridiculous excuse about how they could no longer buy consoles because their license two years ago. I don't know what is going with this GameStop, but they need to be really clear about their police's cause they causes me a great inconvenience today. read more

My son likes this store, and I am providing him with the transportation and the necessary funds, so he can get his used PS2 or PSP games here. I prefer the used games, if you don't like'em or they don't work accordingly you can return it within 7 days. Game stores are a special type of store with a special breed of workers. I realized they are different, like they live in 2 worlds. The video game world where you can be who-ever you like to be; a rock-star, hit-man, superhero, pilot, Tiger Woods, NFL or NBA player and what not. Or the real world where you are just a weird goofy kid, that works in a game store. That's why probably the service is not identical as in other stores, and knowing that I adapt to it. My son is happy, so I am happy and that eliminates every reason for complaining. Who knows maybe one day my son works here and nobody to blame but me I took him here in the first place. When that happens I'll be a Gamestop fan, I promise you that my son! read more

The customer service is horrible. I totally understand if merchandise is back ordered but it would be nice for someone to pick up the phone at least once. I have called 20 times different hours but no one picked up. Guessing they just be super busy so I decide to go in the store and to my surprise no one in the store. The employees turned off the phone and just chatting. Last time I order anything from this company and store. If I could leave no stars, I would. I will absolutely NEVER shop at gamestop again. Multitudes of reasons dictate why this decision was come to pass, but here is the main reason. How do you, as a company, find it right to sell someone's layaway product on them? I went in to your store today to pay off my layaway product. At no point when entering into this agreement, was I told that if you needed my product that day, you were going to sell it. But thats exactly what you did. So when I go to pay off a product i was told was being held for me, I am shot down by you telling me that someone else's money was more important than mine. That you sold a product that I had placed on layaway. This, all this comes after a multitude of other occurrences which I purchased games pre-order and never receiving them. But this is my final straw. How can I put trust in a company that focuses more on money than the satisfaction of its customers. How can you look at a customer and ignore them for asking the basic question "why?" All I wanted in the end was a reasonable explanation as to why you thought your actions were appropriate. You ignore me and tell me to call customer service. I will be telling everyone I can about this blatant disregard for decent customer service. And you will never see a penny more from me. I routinely spend money on new games and counsels, and I will happily take my money elsewhere after this fiasco. read more

I am extremely DISAPPOINTED with GameStop!!! I ordered two games from them on December 1st, and I was supposed to receive it by December 7th. It said it was out for delivery on 5th, and I never received it. Then, I tried calling GameStop to rectify the situation, but their phone tree is set up to be as customer unfriendly as possible. After the the fifth call, I finally got though, and they said they would reship my order. When I received my order on Monday, December 21st (3 weeks after originally placing my order), only one of the two games was there. By this time I was pretty furious, so I called last night (December 22nd), again fighting with the phone tree which hung up on me repeatedly, causing me to call back multiple times to actually talk to someone about it. When I finally was able to talk to a live person, I explained my situation to them and told them that I was very upset with their horrible (lack of) customer service, and they said they would ship the last part of my order, though I had to push to get them to upgrade my order to expedited shipping. Today (December 23rd) I just got a email from GameStop saying my package is estimated to arrive December 30th; almost a month after I originally ordered it, clearly NOT expedited shipping, and not in time for Christmas. I love gaming, but because of this experience I will not be shopping with GameStop EVER AGAIN!!!! I would also warn anyone reading this to beware of GameStop's terrible customer service, and advise them to choose one of the other video game sellers to purchase games from. Even if some games end up costing a little more, decent customer service would be worth it, in my opinion. read more

They stole my money, plain and simple. I placed an order for store pick up on 3/20/2020. I went on 3/21/2020 and the stores were closed due to Covid-19. However the online system still allowed for a in store pick up. I went to the phone number and waited the 60 mins it said it could take. It took longer and NO ONE answered the phone. I received an email cancelling the order. I have been trying to call since. Portion of the payment was with gift card and how am I to get my $ back? I have not received an email with the gift card amount and no response on the return payment I paid by card for the difference. I have tried to call several times and emailed with no one actually helping in customer service and no return response. I do not want another gift card I will never do business with this company. Thankfully we were able to get the game one time and purchased lesser price. I ordered a TV that was supposed to come with a gift card. The TV arrived broken and the gift card was on backorder... How does a gift card remain on backorder is a good question but that is not the biggest issue. I called the representative and was told to send the TV back with the provided FedEx return shipping label and as soon as the TV is scanned another will be shipped to me the next day. The Gamestop rep messed up the pickup address twice which in turn forced me to drive an hour to return the TV. I called to inform them of the expectation of another TV being sent out that day but was informed that they have to receive the TV first, this is NOT what I was told TWICE! I asked to speak to a manager and was told that one will call me back within the hour. 4 hours later I called again and was told again that one would call me back. 24 hours later I had to call and finally spoke with a supervisor. He was polite but failed to honor what his representatives informed me. I will wait for my TV to arrive along with my back-ordered gift card but I will NEVER shop with Gamestop again! For a company that is failing in so many ways to get customers in their stores I can now see why this is an issue, you all fail at customer service and providing quality products to your customers. I would have rather driven an hour to a local Best Buy, picked out a TV with the satisfaction of knowing that it is not broken, or dealt with the hassle of returns and the long wait periods. Just know that you all lost a customer and while I know I am only one person, I hope this hits many more to see the type of quality products and customer service that you all provide. read more

Ah, Yelp - proving once again that some gamers are just overprivileged dickheads. People criticizing staff for being "retarded" while "the people in front of [the reviewer] asked question after question, price check after price check" need to remember that, bizarrely, the world doesn't revolve around them. Yes, waiting in lines sucks. I've been in this store before and there is often a longish wait, but in the meantime there are sometimes cool people in line with you (as I found out last week, trading tips how to defeat a certain Skyrim chapter) and besides, waiting in lines is part of being an adult - something that a lot of gamers seem determined to never be. What also sucks is when stores don't have what you want, which is what happened this afternoon when I came into Gamestop and talked to George (the "bald Mexican" so charmingly described by Ryan D. in his review below) and Alice, two members of the sales team. George proceeded to call three different stores to find the games I wanted - and *then* he went even further, offering to pick them up from the other stores (two DIFFERENT stores, to be clear) before he came into work the next day. This is so far above and beyond normal customer service - I wish everyone was as happy to help out as George was, and were as friendly and funny as Alice was. And you know what? There was a line behind me - I was the one holding things up, and despite the fact that people had to wait, the world didn't end! So to anyone who might think this store sucks because the lines are long and the staff isn't as knowledgeable as the Rooster Teeth dudes or some damn thing, please give it a chance - the staff actually do know their shit and they want to help, just so long as you're not an asshole. If you are an asshole, well, clearly you're free to write as many "racey" and asinine reviews as you want. Just don't expect anyone to get fired over it. read more

In a nutshell: Video Game store chain in Koreatown. This Gamestop used to be a dump. It used to be very organized, but has cleaned up nicely over the past few years. Before I was on Gamefly, I came here a lot and checked out the used game selection. I noticed that the selection here is better than most stores, but they never have the used games I'm looking for specifically. You can park downstairs in the lot for the Wilshire/Vermont Plaza. They also give you validation if you are there for more than 30 minutes. They are always well stocked with new releases, and honor pre-sales here. They also hold a couple special editions here (collector's editions/boxes). One cool thing that the kids like is that they have an XBoxOne and a PS4 for trying out games, as well as Gamestop's own TV show playing by the counter. read more

Besides, the receipt gives the terms of return." Well, if the receipt was in a readable English, I would've figured it out on my own. Anyways, thank goodness for another branch because at least their staff were more polite and helpful to the situation. Never going back to this branch. read more

Lost a Customer for life. Here is an excerpt from my email response after a package was stolen and Gamestop rejected my claim. The overall experience was a giant waste of time that I will never get back. "Unfortunately, I have heard nothing from Gamestop about the refund for my order that was stolen. I am very annoyed to hear that after 2 1/2 months you rejected my claim for the stolen controllers. I spent quite a few hours following up on this claim for the first month and a half after they were stolen (after I was told it would take only 15 business days). In total, I spent probably 5-6 hours on the phone before I ended up ordering new controllers to replace these (which were supposed to be Christmas gifts for my family). Then the new controllers that I ordered ended up being refurbished controllers due a mistake on Gamestop's part, and I had to wait a week for a return shipping label before returning them to a physical store so that I could pick up actual new controllers. Another 2-3 hours of being on the phone with people and working through this new fiasco plus the time it took to drive across town, wait in a store, and then explain the situation to the Gamestop employee. I am very disappointed that Gamestop has chosen to make even more work for me. by requiring that I work with my own credit card company. I thought that the CSRs who I talked to were friendly and helpful and I was appreciative of the $100 store credit I received, but if I had know that all of this runaround was going to take place, I would have happily traded that $100 credit for the controllers to not be stolen. This was a giant waste of my time and I am saddened that this overall experience will now be the reason that I avoid using Gamestop for future purchases. I hope that your company will reconsider. To have a company like OnTrac, who I have worked alongside, and has a notorious reputation for terrible service, deliver your packages is an abysmal choice. This package was left on the front door step in a highly visible location along a busy street during the holiday season when package theft is at its highest (on the eve of Thanksgiving by the way). There was zero effort to hide the package by the driver. I checked for the package within 60 minutes of it being delivered and it was already gone. Now I have to hope that my CC company will believe me about a package that was stolen 76 days ago, after Gamestop took 74 days to decide they would reject my claim is absolutely ridiculous." read more
