He helped me with a trade-in for my Switch Lite and assisted with PSA grading, and he truly went above and beyond throughout the whole process. EOS was extremely detail-oriented, thorough, and knowledgeable, making everything smooth and stress-free. Called ahead of time that I wanted to do a ps5 trade in and I believe "Lan" answered the phone since he sounded like the person I spoke to in person later, I asked what I needed to bring he did not state I had to bring ID so I wasted an hour drive, after I bring ID I get quoted a less price because of stick drift despite already getting quoted a higher price. He did not even taken into account that I had already wasted an hour of driving from his negligence of not telling me I needed to bring ID and then I get quoted a less price. So insane. Solid game stop with solid service. The layout is wide though it can get a tad congested near checkout as they don't have a clear path (like every location) for a line. Stopped in to browse deals and upcoming games... Was pretty cool to see a lot of collectibles alongside the register wall toward the back of the store including some power rangers, marvel, dc and anime related memorable. A variety of shirts and clothing on sale and okay items in clearance. The parking is shared with a few neighboring business and the rates are competitive especially if you're a member. Not great for trade-in/resale deals, though if you're just trying to get rid of old games or equipments they take a large variety of items regardless of condition unless severely used or heavy scratches/damage. This place is a freaking nightmare! I tried to turn in two X-boxes for a PlayStation five. There are only two GameStop locations in Los Angeles that allow you to turn in consoles and this location is closer to me so I went here to try to do it and I had to come back four days in a row in order to make the transition occur! First time I came, I arrived what I thought was an hour before closing, but because they have the wrong closing time posted on YELP I only got there a few minutes before closing time - so their first mistake is that they have the wrong closing time posted on YELP. It is actually an hour earlier than what is posted FYI!! So I get there a few minutes before closing and they tell me that they only do console turn ins when there is at least 30 minutes left before closing time because it takes some time for them to inspect the console and do the transaction and they are not allowed to work overtime so they would only do the turn in if I came back the next day with at least 30 minutes before closing which I learned was an hour earlier than what it says on yelp. So I came back the next day and I tried AGAIN to turn it in and this time they tell me that they can't do it bc I have to update my console since their internet is supposedly too slow they can't do it and you can't turn it in unless you update the software to the most recent version available. So my second attempt failed. I went home and updated the software easy as pie. Then I went back a third day, this time I tried AGAIN to turn in my Xbox X (which is the newest and most expensive version of the console). I just got the console a couple months prior and it was almost brand new, barely used. The listing price is around $500 and the turn in value listed online is around $450; however they wanted to only give me $250 Instead because it wasn't cleaned perfectly. They told me that I had to open up the console and clean it out perfectly so that all that they had to do is put it in a box and sell it and that the only way that I could get the full $450 value to turn it in is if I took it home and cleaned it. Mind you no one told me anything about this on day one or day two. And nothing about this is Online anywhere to be found so the only way that you can learn that you have to clean it first in order to get full value is to go into the brick and mortar store and for them to tell you themselves, which is what happened to me on day three. You can only imagine how angry I was at this point because I do not drive, so I had to pay for an Uber there and back each time I went to the store. So after day three, I went home and cleaned that Xbox with a toothbrush the very best I could Following a YouTube video and finally when I went back on day four I tried AGAIN to turn in the Xboxes for a new PlayStation 5 was I was finally able to complete the transaction. but at that point, you can only imagine how frustrated I was at the staff that worked at the store because they are not only rude and incompetent, but they're just plain buttheads. I am so so so incredibly happy that most transactions for gaming can be completed online because I don't think I will ever step foot inside a brick and mortar GameStop ever again after the experience!!!! read more

I have been a loyal customer of this specific Gamestop location since it opened. For years I have purchased, traded, pre-ordered and sold at this Gamestop. As far back as I can remember, this was the spot that my friends and I would make countless stops at. Browsing through the great selection of used games, preordering new ones and impatiently waiting for what next-gen had to offer. I remember the long lines for the midnight launch of GTA5, Red Dead, Skyrim and the PS4. Those were some of the most unforgettable game related experiences I ever had. I was there when the ps4 launched, I'll be there when the ps5 launches and the ps6,7,8,9......you get the idea. But what keeps me coming back to this location is the staff. The staff always makes each experience great, easy and super satisfying. They are more like friends than strangers. Carlos however is the one that stands out the most. He is always on top of everything, knows exactly what to recommend and is one of the most down to earth nicest guys. Im glad to call this place a home away from home, because thats what Carlos and the team make it feel like every time I walk through that glass door. See y'all soon! -Robert read more

So...I never do yelp reviews. I just don't get angry enough. And I LOVE Gamestop for collectibles! I frequent the Koreatown one all the time, and it's always a great experience. Sunset and Andrews...not so much. The online pick-up-in-store function was down on the Gamestop website. I called around, and eventually learned that this particular store had the item I was looking for. So, I called. This was on my lunch break, at around 1. I asked if they could put the item aside for the day, since I'd be coming after work. The cashier told me No, they can't, because they only put items aside like that for online holds. I told the cashier that the online system was down. I was calling precisely because I couldn't do an online hold. He told me, I kid you not, that they needed to keep the item aside in case someone "figures out how to get it to work". I called at five, when I was off work, to see if the item was still around. (Because yeah, that first call was awful, but I still wanted that item.) The same cashier answered. He said he held the item aside for two hours, and made it sound like it was a massive favor. (Thank you for putting the item aside from 1 to 3, when I said I couldn't get there until around 5. GREAT customer service, dude.) I asked if he could put the item aside once more, since I was literally driving over right then. He told me that he had to put the item back on the shelf, but if I hurried, I might find it before another customer snatched it up. I hung up. When people say that Gamestop deserves to go under, they're talking about stores like this one. read more

I was able to call ahead to see if a particular game was in stock like I have always done in the past. The representative Jessie was able to find me a copy and place it to the side for only a very short time until I arrived. I happen to live less than 5 minutes away and because he remembered who I was he helped my daughter and I complete our transaction. I love the service and all of the staff who work here (shout out to Carlos and Juan). It is always an enjoyable experience whether I'm just browsing or there for a purchase. This is definitely my favorite go to store for games and collectibles! read more

I am extremely upset right now. I purchased a pre-owned copy of Assassin's Creed Origins from the Sunset location in Los Angeles. At no point did the representative let me know that any additional DLC that is included with the game packaging may have already been used and there is no recourse to get it. When I buy a game, I assume that I'm buying the entire game, which includes whatever is in the packaging or originally came with the game. If I had known that I wouldn't be getting the entire game, I probably would have chosen to make the purchase directly through the Playstation Network or Ubisoft. When I couldn't redeem the code for DLC, I reached out to Sony and they told me I should call GameStop directly. When I tried to do that, I had to call four different stores before anyone picked up. When someone did answer the phone, they were very condescending about selling me the game (Jesse at the Sunset location) and said that someone should have informed me that there was no guarantee that I would receive the DLC with a pre-owned copy and that they didn't make new copies anymore. Thanks to that omission, I'm not getting the full range of content that should be available to me as someone who purchased this game. I am a loyal and longstanding customer of GameStop and am extremely disappointed at the decline in customer service I have been experiencing from your stores in recent years. read more

No one answers the phone at this location. I tried calling ahead twice to see if the item I was looking for was in stock. No one answered. I ended up going to the store in person to see if they had it and sure enough they did not. To be clear, my complaint is not that they were out of stock. It just after the holidays so that's to be expected sometimes but the issue here is that I could've been saved the trip if someone had just picked up the phone. While I was there in person I heard the phone ring 2 separate times and none of the associates answered. The store had about 10 customers in it and the associates were helping some of them but that's no excuse to not answer the phone. I've worked retail. You need to be able to multitask. I hardly ever go to GameStops because I typically buy everything online. This experience is exactly why. Brick and mortar shops need to step it up to compete with online retailers and this GameStop epically failed to do so. I will absolutely never go back. read more

He's unhelpful, has a bad attitude, and actually has incited arguments with me each and every time. This kid has zero clue what real customer service is, and needs to be fired. I came here about 3 weeks ago to get a copy of PUBG. The dudes that were behind the counter were super chill and answered all of my questions. Decided to come back tonight to check out a few other games that I was interested in and the two Hispanic chicks behind the counter were hecka rude. I'm all about going home early but for one of the employees to come up to my brother and ask him and I quote: "Are you guys going to get anything because we are going to close" in a rude way kind of ticked me off. I even asked her what time they were closing and she said 8pm. It was 7:52! I still had time to buy a few things but it seems like she was rushing us out.
