I guess one of the down sides is I just trust this place too much with their cards out on display no signs of LP, MP, or HP. Picked out a bunch of single cards & I noticed after the purchase, as I'm putting the cards in the top loaders, that one card was severely damaged in the back and top corner bent like a mf. 30 dollar card nothing crazy. I just simply asked if I can just get another 30 dollar card. Nope I couldn't do that. Keep in mind I haven't even left the store yet. The only thing they can do is give me 22 dollars cash. Like 8 dollars is not a big deal but it's the principle.. on top of that I went there on my lunch break had 1 hour, spent my entire hour there. First person to walk in and everyone that came in after me got the help they needed first after asking nicely if I can get some cards, I was the last one out. This experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and I'm writing this hoping others don't receive the same treatment. Probably won't come back Paper Hero Games on Burbank, friendly staff. Hours posted online indicate that the only day they open as late as 4:00 PM is Thursday. Update your online information accordingly so that people don't waste their time. I guess it's their second location in LA? The store brought back so many memories. The outside display had the old school TVs with playing some N64 games. It was really cool. Inside the store, you saw all sorts of merchandise from Game Boy games, Dreamcast, Gamecube, N64, Nintendo, and even more current game systems like the PS5 and switch. There were so many collectibles inside the store. I ended up spending about 45 minutes just looking through all of their offerings. They have a lot of the older games for sale too. Many of them are used. I'd recommend taking a few pictures, and if possible, trying out some of the cartridges if you can, before leaving just to make sure everything works! It was a fun store to browse and look around. There was even a poster of the songs from the Zelda Ocarina of Time on the wall. Really cool place! I'd recommend stopping by the store if you're in the area and like video games!

I brought it back to get a refund as I was told I was able to return it. The owner was completely rude and immediately became irritated at the fact I tried to return it (this was within 10 minutes of buying the controller). Go elsewhere if you don't want to be yelled at and told never to come back to his store for trying to return a faulty controller. The owner is a scammer and does not care about his customers.

The selection for both is not stellar but they are all in excellent condition. The good condition of books might be due to their strict "no reading" policy. The tall guy working today made my day by letting me go through a binder of 151 unfinished master set to help complete mine it literally had everything I needed ! I also picked up some full art cards. I highly recommend checking this place out. Sealed Pokemon product is a bit high(but all the card shops are honestly ) but all the single cards are priced fair from tcg price guide. They have awesome vintage toys, rare finds and modern collectibles as well. It's fun to walk around and see what they have.

Finally got to check this spot out! Been following them on Instagram for a while now and haven't…read moregotten the chance to visit until a few days ago. We stopped by after work so the rush hour was a bit crazy but made it in time before they closed! We had to loop around since they don't have a designated parking lot and all the street parking was basically full. Managed to find a spot about a block away and not bad of a walk at all. We were mainly here for the Baldur's Gate 3 blind bags for the beautiful oversized d20's but checked out all the other cool stuff they have here! I believe the owner is Mandie and she was super sweet and had great energy when my bf and I dropped by! We managed to pull a Rare (Mizora) and a Rare (Halsin) which was really cool from just buying two packs. They have other cool merch like pokemon, final fantasy, dnd, and even some anime stuff. Highly recommend checking this shop out and supporting local businesses! Great place to buy a gift for anyone. Prices are a bit more than retail but nothing too crazy.
