My husband and I were on our way to In N Out today when we saw a line in the parking lot of this GameStop. I tried calling them to find out what it was for, but they never picked up, probably because of how busy it must've been for them. When I stopped to ask what the line was for, the sales associate working there was super nice in telling me that it was for a PS5 bundle, but there wouldn't have been enough stock for anyone else to jump in the line. I appreciated his honesty and kindness when I'm sure it was a hectic time for him with the stock release of such a sought-after system. We also came here last year for the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield. They gave us freebies for waiting and had a very organized system to make sure no one cut in line or tried to get a copy of the game without a preorder. They are very efficient and do a good job of showing you their appreciation. There is a very small parking lot that the store shares with other businesses in the plaza, so you might not always get a spot in the lot. read more

I've lived in the San Fernando Valley a long time, and I've been to this GameStop many times, as a result. I honestly can't say I recall ever having had a bad experience. Not even one! I have fond memories of visiting this particular location dating back years. Each and every time I find myself needing to head to this store, the employees are always extremely kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions I have. Although there are a handful of other GameStops in the SFV, I inevitably end up picking this one to keep returning to the most often, thanks to the employees, service, and just generally good vibes. I was in just the day prior to writing this review, and Isar & Todd in particular (shoutout to you two!) were super helpful in answering a couple questions I had! Anthony, who I believe has helped me in the past as well, also comes across as a really nice person. This place sucks!!! Apparently the employees can just take off in the middle of their shift and just close the store down if they feel like. We drove down to pick up a game we ordered, called first to make sure they were opened, only to arrive at a closed store with a handwritten sign taped to the door saying, "be right back 3:45". It was 2:45. So the employee just up and left the store closed because they had to go score drugs or go home to take a sh*t or maybe they had to go to their safe space for a while. Had pre ordered hogwarts legacy 5 months ago and told the guy that I wanted the special edition. Paid for it in full. Now today is the 7th which is the gamestop release date for the game. Went in and was told I have to wait til Friday because they were sold out. On top of that the guy tells me I only purchased the standard edition. So I get screwed over. The game has been paid in full for 5 months. Not very happy. I will come back in on Friday and hopefully I can speak to the manager. To me this is completely unacceptable. Maybe get some better employees that understand the customers needs and wants. read more

I've been to the other GameStop locations around the valley, and I would typically drive out to the one in the empire center in Burbank. Mainly because I knew it was there, and I've been going there for years. I just liked the staff, and they seem knowledgable. I wanted to know which gaming headset to get, and asked about them earlier in the night before picking up a midnight release game at the empire center location. I ended up not picking it up that night, but finally decided to take the plunge. I didn't feel like fighting traffic out there, so I thought I'd give this one a shot... Much like Starbucks, each location has a different temperament and experience (due to the employees at a given store). AM I GLAD I DID!! Nop helped me out, and he is GREAT!! and he took the time to explain the pros and cons of the various models, not just show me products. What suckers are keeping this place in business? Amazon, Best Buy, Wal mart, and Target all sell their NEW games for less than what this places charges for their USED games. No joke, USED ps4 golf game here $50. Same game on Amazon $11. Same game at Wal mart $14. I did not see one used game that was cheaper than the new games I see for sale at any other store or online storefront. I bought Xbox X series 2k21 game online to pick up in store for 12/23 and they gave me the 2k21 in the Xbox 1, went back to get the one I actually purchased since it's a gift and the girl that was helping me around 4:30pm was persistent on how it's the same game and it could be used for X series which could be true but I was told that Xbox X needs X series games, I wanted the one with Zion Williamson on the cover cus it's a gift and she again said if you go to another store you'll get the same one you have now. So I returned the game since it's not the one I had ordered. She gave me my refund but in cash when I paid in card which I didn't mind until I went to a target and found the one with Zion Williamson on the the cover and it said specifically for Xbox X series. I was expecting it be the same amount as the cash I got back to me but it was more than the refund. She gave me the refund of the game but didn't refund me the tax that I paid as well. So I got terrible service and they stole money from me. If you gonna have people work there at least have them know what they are doing instead of them giving false information and teach them how to give a refund for the exact amount they paid. I would give 0 stars if I could. I do not recommend. read more

I had an issue with my system. It's a long and convoluted story but rest assured, trust me when I say it was difficult and frustrating. This is where this particular GameStop shines so bright. Ian was very helpful and courteous. He took the time to listen and most of all understand my situation. It was during the worst time of the year too ( call of duty launch) but He was patient and he provided me with an option that completely eradicated my problem. Robert a.k.a. Burke was also very friendly and helpful. The two of them made unfortunate experience A pleasant one. And that goes along way. With all the competition you see these days, it is service like this that makes people happy to come back and shop at a place like GameStop as opposed to Best Buy or Walmart. I don't buy games very often but this Gamestop was the closest store that had a midnight release for Halo 4. The staff was organized, friendly, and helpful. Of course they'll try to push you into buying extra stuff, although they didn't ask about warranty this time. But that's expected at any Gamestop. There is very little parking though. So if you're going for a popular release you might have to come early, car pool, or park near by on the street or in the McDonald's next door. read more
