They also had clothing, stuffed animals, headphones, controllers and games. They had one associate working the store. He was friendly. He asked if we needed any help. Every Pokemon drop, this GameStop location of all other GameStop is the only one distributing number stubs. And if you don't get a stub then you cannot get a Pokemon. Even when there are still stocks. The Manager, staff obviously collects or in to Pokemon so they can manipulate how many they want to bring out come release day. So I don't know if I went in on a great day or what but customer service was excellent. We were sent here from the Kahala store because they had both games my son was interested in. The staff was super nice, answered all my questions about the games and allowed us to use a current promotion saving us $12 on one of the games. The store was clean and well stocked and the Asian guy with glasses reminded my son if he did not like the used game he got, he could always return it within 7 days as long as he has the receipt. GameStop in Kalihi. It's a run of the mill GameStop. I might have arrived during an inventory day, but game boxes were EVERYWHERE!!!! I barely found the counter. I stopped in here to return a JUNK game that I purchased the day before (at another GameStop location) and was met by a very pleasant young lady that took care of my issue immediately with NO trouble whatsoever. I'm going to reserve my higher rating until I make another visit, and maybe, just maybe, it won't look as if a tornado whipped through. It would be nice to find something. read more

Gamestop has always been my number one place to shop for video games and video game related stuff. I really don't have much to say since my video game store needs are simple. All I need from the store is have things in stock and available when they say it is and be somewhat helpful and friendly. Stock - Pretty good selection of old and new games. They're on schedule with game releases and will even release it early given that they are authorized to do so. Customer Service - Shane from Gamestop Kam has always been helpful. He does what he says he will do, double checks on things, and very helpful. The other workers are generally the same. I only really interact with them when I have a stock question, getting a pre-order, or paying. When the computer says something is out of stock, Shane and some of the workers will go to the back to confirm which is a very good thing to do. I don't actually know if they check since I can't go in the back to verify. Hopefully when they say "let me look in the back..." that they are actually doing what they say they are doing, which I think they do because they've mostly come back with stuff that I needed when they do look in the back. Sometimes they'll host a launch "party" if a AAA game is hype enough. They'll let you come in a few hours before midnight so you can stand in line and wait for the street date to ring in and the systems to allow for the sale of the game. I remember them having Street Fighter X Tekken setups for people to play and try the night before release date. Those were pretty fun. The Store - Is organized and clean enough. I don't come here to sit around and dine. I'm here to pick up my game. As long as it's not sticky inside, there's some sort of organization in the store, and it doesn't stink, I think I'm good. All in all I'm happy that we have Gamestop in Kam. Sometimes Shawn and the other workers don't look like they want to be there, but I understand, it is retail after all. I worked in retail for 5 years and I wasn't always happy to be there, even if I'm surrounded by things I like. read more

Hes always sarcastic and doesn't answer properly even when he knows what I am asking for.. They wont ever tell you any other options they have, always leave you hanging without knowing anything. The service from this young dude was rude and very lazy selection is always great and value is always great but the worst 1 percent is the employee attitude and auto Judgement. I walked in to gane stop in 1230am today on November 7, 2023 and this young dude was stocking items and I came up to him and he gave me the vicious look like his eyes looks red and his voice was not professional so I asked him nice I want to trade in this iPad because I have my ID and my documents ready and you know what this young dude tell me. No we don't trade in any devices here our system is not open and all of our stores have the same problem and having to call all the game stop stores they told me all their system works and and they never had any system outage in their database and they check with Kamehameha shopping system from the Kapolei location they tons they're system is up. I'm a casual gamer and when this store first opened in Kalihi at the Kamehameha Shopping Center the staff knew your name and were friendly. I've been away for 5 years from this store due to my experience with staff, some were rude, sarcastic and even mumbled to each other in front of me. Me coming back after 5 years trying give this place a shot just makes me think this place hasn't change. I've recently been trying to call the store if they have a game and not waste my time going there finding out they don't have it or it's sold out. My favorite Game Stop on the island. Quiet, tucked in a corner, and staffed with friendly, knowledgable staff. This location is a bit off my beaten path, but I always leave happier when I visit this location than when I head into any of the other 5,000,000 Game Stops on Oahu. Full disclosure- I did not find this location by accident. I followed one of the employees here from a different (not video game related) store. When Matt switched jobs, I promised to stop in and say hello. That first visit was enough to help me decide that this was where I wanted to spend my video game dollars. After the Super Mario & Sonic days, I never really was into playing games as much as I used to up until I started playing Halo 3 (woot, woot!). Always went to either the Kunia or Kapolei location since they were close to where I was living, which was in Ewa Beach with my in-laws. But now that I'm back to living in Kalihi, I'm glad that they opened up a Gamestop in this area so it'll save me the drive to either Ala Moana or Pearlridge. Never really stopped in the store cause like I said, I wasn't really into games until Disney decided to make Disney Infinity. Aaaaand being the Disney fanatic that I am, I just couldn't resist purchasing this game for my son (just kidding, it's really for me, but I use my son as an excuse). I didn't originally buy the starter kit from this location but for all my other figurines, I surely came here because it's so convenient! Not only do I just live down the road from here, but I work within the shopping center as well! The customer service here is AWESOME! You're always greeted as soon as you walk in and they aren't pushy with sales like other Gamestops are. Always informative and their knowledge of the systems or games are on point! I see atleast one of the employees at my job every morning and it's always good fun to talk to them about what's coming out and what not. They also give me the inside scoops about the release dates, which I absolutely love despite how tempting it is to go in and preorder any of it. But I love how they're all so personable about my experience there & how I can get to know the employees on a more personable level. So I may be biased, but this has to be my favorite Gamestop location! read more

I hold this place solely responsible for my crazy addiction to first person shooter games. And really. I love a great shooter game! Call of Duty. Battlefield. Left 4 Dead. Anything zombie related. If I can shoot it, I'll play it. I'm TOTally hooked, cantchutell?? *scratch scratch* *crazy eyes* When the PS4 came out in November of last year, I was devastated to have not been able to reserve a console prior to its release date. Luckily, there were consoles that others hadn't picked up that were up for grabs, first come first serve. I remember groggily waking up at 7am the day of, wondering if it was worth the wait and trade in of sleep. After waiting in line for 2.5 hrs, my eyes transformed from sleepy slits into the eyes of an ice-cream-and-cake-eating child. The manager, Matt, was so sweet and gave us little snacks while we were in line for the opening. Yay, little pretzels that contain nutrients that will help you fend off aliens! Best. Snack. Ever! It was also the Best. Day. Ever! going home with a big black bag (concealed so we don't get jacked on the streets of Kalihi) and new games. After this life-changing event, I have vowed to never call gamers "nerdy" ever again. Except my boyfriend. He's pretty nerdy. Hi, Roland u N00b. I absolutely love this fun place and the staff who work here. Everyone is so knowledgable about the games and so encouraging when I mull over purchasing a game. It makes me wonder if all employees of GameStop must have tried every game available in the store before working there. Dream job! I have both the PS4 and the Xbox360 and am constantly on the lookout for new games (come on, Dying Light!) and fun used games. There was a point in time where I'd purchase a used game, try it out and didn't like it, and come back the next day to return and purchase another used game. I was there every day and the staff were so friendly and weren't even irritated about my indecisiveness and seeing my face. See, gamers are cool! If you purchase a used game, you are able to return it within 7 days. If you purchase a new game, you can trade it in for other games. (Goodbye Assassin's Creed and Killzone. Nice knowin' ya!) The 3rd best thing (1: pretzels. 2: wide variety of games) is the nonexistent lines here. Unlike GameStop in Ala Moana, the GameStop in Kam shopping center has no lines. The only time it's packed is probably after 2pm or so when school is out for the day. Then that's when you have to watch out or you'll get hit in the face with a flying kendama and no apology. And if you haven't been introduced to the world of games yet, I suggest you come here and start living your life! I went to preorder the new 3ds and I took advantage of the promotion by trading in my 3ds xl. A kid rang me up. He spoke extremely soft and he was very confusing. It sounded like he was not aware of the promotion even though there were signs/posters all over the store. After trading in my 3ds Xls (I traded 2 in) he stated I only owe $149 which did not make sense because it should be $199. Even after I corrected him and showed him the math he still insisted I owe $149. (On realease day I paid $199, which was not a surprise) After that transaction I wanted to preorder dragon ball xenoverse. I asked about the exclusive tin, which he guaranteed I will get if I preordered the game. Today, dragon ball released. Recently I found out that the assistant store manager parted ways with the company (who was an excellent excellent excellent sales associate) which was a downer, but the store manager Matt is so excellent, he doesn't miss a beat. Quick update. The very next day I went to the GameStop in kapolei and showed them the system. The first words out of their managers mouth when he saw the condition they sold me the PS4 in was "that GameStop needs to be shut down!" A MANAGER FROM ANOTHER GAMESTOP LOCATION EVEN SAYS YOUR LOCATION NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN! I wasn't even going that far but wow..... that manager has stronger feelings about how shady you guys are than I do. Told me I'm not the first person who complained to them about you. After talking about it for about 5 minutes they gave me my money back and apologized for what YOUR WORTHLESS LOCATION did and how you treated me. And like I promised before, I will NEVER be coming back to your location after the experience I had from you. I had my son talk me into purchasing the call of duty blacks op 3 "season pass" for Xbox one. The cost was $50. I was charged and I thought that I would be receiving something tangible however was given a receipt with a code that needed to be imputed via Xbox one. Much to my surprise.... It said that I needed to pay the rest with my credit card. Well.... It cost $49.99 plus tax. So we were short since the card was only for $50!!!!! I immediately called and spoke to the person that sold me the "code". His name was Barrett. He was very patient and also consulted with his manager on duty and they accommodated me with another code to cover the tax.. This new era is crazy.... I won't be doing this again but Mahalo Barrett for making this problem right. read more
