SCUMMY PRACTICE of Assuming the sale. Employee Jeffrey attempted to enforce insurance on game bypassing any confirmation by me or even an explanation of the this charge prior to presenting "Final" cost. I understand you may need to hit your quota but to sneakily do so is terrible sales. I would suggest working on engaging your customers when they ask a question or being proactive of what you're doing is beneficial vs your approach of doing the absolute least with the expectation the customer is unaware of your action. Customer relationship is key and you frankly have disregarded any need to do so. read more

Accessibility: there is accessible/handicap parking in front of The Joint Chiropractor next door. The ramp is also there. They have pull doors and they have air conditioning inside. It is also very spacious here. Experience: this store is so cool! They have made upgrades in the last few years it looks like, as the store looks so nice inside! They sell games, hot wheels cars, X boxes, Playstation, action figures, clothes, so many things. The store employee was a tall man, very kind and knowledgeable. Great experience. read more

I was led here by a friend of mine who loves Pokemon and the store didn't disappoint. The customer service was amazing. I wish I caught the young man's name who helped my kids, but I was REALLY impressed by how well he interacted with them. You see, I don't speak Pokemon, Pikachu, Meowth, Snorlax, Tepig, or any of the other Pokemon things....but he speaks Pokemon and my kids are fluent in it...so I sat back and watched! All the pokemon cards are behind the counter so make sure you ask. From what I heard, and little I understood, they have a wide variety of packs. I can't comment about the prices since my kids have just started learning the art of saving and spending hard earned money, so I don't know if GameStop is on par with other pokemon card places. What I do know is my kids were happy with what they bought and I was happy with the customer service. I'll be back! read more

Very disappointed. We bought a Nintendo Switch from the Game Stop at the Mission Valley mall (we were in the area) and the customer service their was great. The clerk who helped us was very friendly and informative. Welp, our charging port malfunctioned before the warranty expired so we googled the nearest store to our home and this one came up. We were looking forward to doing a fair trade in and get a working Switch once again. When we walked in there were two (caucasian) customers whom Jade was helping so we decided to browse while she finished helping them. All the while I could over hear her providing said guest with professional, informative, and friendly customer service. Once she was done she wished them a good evening and went about her personal business. As my husband (bald hispanic) walked up to the counter her demeanor changed drastically. He started telling her the issue but was quickly cut off with a condescending, "we dont have any Switch's in stock at this store" and it seemed that's were she would have ended it if I wouldnt have walked up to the counter and asked what she thought could be wrong with it. She then proceeds to take the switch out of the box and tells us it could be the charger we have and connects it to the charger she has on the counter and again, very condescendingly says, "my charge is working fine" with an obnoxious hand gesture. The proceeds to say, "do you have another charger at home you can use, if not I'd suggest you buy a new one." I proceed to let her know I dont believe it's the charger as the light on the charging port had been blinking continuously. I was confused as to why she was being so short and unprofessional with us provided she was just demonstrating the complete opposite with previous customers. Now, I can't help to feel there was a bit of discrimination. That's the only reason why I mentioned ethnicities. Anywho, as I kept insisting on a solution she then provides us with a store who had Switch's in stock. Like it was so hard?! As we were heading out we thanked her and she didnt even respond. So rude. We were polite enough despite her rudeness. The next day we went to the Game Stop in east Escondido and the young lady there was very professional and friendly despite being the only one working and helping multiple guests simultaneously. She was equally as polite and helpful with everyone. Much appreciated. That being said, thank you Jade for letting us know what Game Stop not to walk into. read more

I literally just spent 45 minutes in there to merely check out because David the one employee that they have there is as slow as molasses! When you have three people in line waiting to check out and you're just sitting there chalking it up with one person when you have a line and people have places to be! read more

Kind of upsetting, I have been here many times and received excellent service. Today I had to call in with my questions as I was at work, and I really seemed more like a burden then a potential customer. I got a new XBOX series X for my birthday and it arrives tonight - I'm super excited but have done no research on games and called to ask a couple questions and I was met with sarcasm and shortness on the phone. Worst part is after I hung up I realized I can buy all those games on Xbox live marketplace and don't have to even use your store. I am someone that likes giving my business to store fronts and you can check my history with you guys Game stop has not lost my business- but this location has. I remember when the GameStop employees were genuinely excited about video games and knew their products and had opinions and shared in my enthusiasm. That's what coming here and nerding out was about for me - today was very disappointing exchange on otherwise my most exciting video game day in 10years read more

I am very disappointed by the lack of customer service at this location. I purchased a pre-owned Xbox1 game from this location and was not happy with it. I called this store and asked what the return policy was and was told that within 30 days I could exchange a used game for store credit. I repeated that back and verified what he was telling me because I was surprised. I went into another shop today to exchange the game I had inquired about and was told that it is a hard 7 say cutoff. I called this location where I had purchased and talked to the store manager who said his name was Cody. I explained what I was told and he just kept saying that he couldn't help me. I told him I understood what the policy was but that I was told something different and expected them to stand by what I was told. He said, "Sir, I could also call stores and say that they told me something." He essentially accused me of lying. If this was truly the manager, I am shocked that someone would put this person in charge of this location. I work in retail and I expect better customer service from my trainees on literally their first day. I will not be buying any consoles or games from this location. To be clear, I wanted to exchange my $20 game for another $20 game, costing the store absolutely nothing. Tldr: was told exchange policy was 30 days and the store manager accused me of lying and refused to help. read more

I bought legend of Zelda BOTW here and the staff was great I even got 20$ off! All in all a great store.

This is my FAVORITE GameStop. My hubby and I stop by a GameStop whenever we are in the parking lot. We've been to locations in Carmel Mountain, Point Loma, La Mesa, Mira Mesa, etc. Heck, we've even been to one in Killarney, Ireland! On our honeymoon! lol This is the only location I think I've ever NOT left empty handed. They always have cooler merchandise than the other GameStops and today I was given THE BEST customer service by manager Chelsea. Not only was she pleasant and friendly (as was the other worker on duty, Cody), but she was able to help me out with a few things I didn't even know I needed help with! The last I had heard, the loyalty program was only available with a paid membership. She let me know there's a free one! And not a pushy/salesy way, either. She also helped me turn around a negative situation regarding the ThinkGeek/GameStop website merge that I didn't know COULD be fixed (I was a BIG fan of ThinkGeek--I could get everything for my husband's Christmas in one order! Basically, chatting with Chelsea and her reaction to my story MADE. MY. DAY! What had left a bitter taste in my mouth previously is now just one more reason to be a raving GameStop fan--ESPECIALLY of this location. We drove out of our way just to come here today, and I'm SO glad that we did! Thank you, Chelsea! read more

Went in a couples days ago with my hubby and the manager and one of his coworkers were very helpful and kind too us trying to help us move our animal crossing information to our new switch. Highly recommend this place read more

How can you go wrong with a game store? This particular location is relatively new, and as such they had a very limited number of used games available that had the original cases intact. My nerd is probably showing here, but I don't buy used games that don't have the original case available (I keep them for the long haul, butt nugget; don't judge). Now that they've been open a bit longer, they've come into the usual. They staff know what they're doing and talking about, and THERE ARE EVEN GIRLS THAT WORK HERE. ZOMG!!!!! read more

I usually don't shop at GameStop, but this place has fantastic customer service. I'm terrible at names, but two people left good impressions on me. 1) The guy with the short hair and glasses. He is always friendly and strikes conversations with me when I visit. I went to pre-order FFVIX Heavensward, and we started talking about the game and other MMO's as if we were buddies. 2) The girl with the Horde jacket. I've been having terrible luck trying to get Diablo from the Heroes blond boxes. She was very familiar with them and helped me get the one I wanted based on weight, etc. I walked out extra happy today. This place is my exclusive GameStop moving forward. read more

This is my favorite location to go if I need anything or questions. The staff is always assertive and helpful.

Only rating 2 stars because this location is small and doesn't have a very big selection of pre-owned PSvita or Nintendo 3DS/DS games. I'm giving an extra star because the employees were friendly, warm, and helpful though! read more

Go anywhere else. Just anywhere else. Preferably a different company's video game store entirely, but definitely not this one. The person at the counter (Emely) had to end their conversation with their girlfriend to help me since I was, then, the only patron in the store. They immediately deflected my question about the $10 online sale of Horizon by saying that a brand new copy is $35 - instead of informing me that any sale online can be purchased at the website's price and picked up in store??? Or maybe look it up??? Help me out??? Same person helped me transfer a pre-order to this store from another which understandably took a minute, but in that minute the store manager continued the conversation with the employee's girlfriend and then took a personal call while a huge line formed behind me. I'm 25 and have worked many similar entry level positions, but that situation was really unprofessional for an already low-bar profession. read more

This place has very knowledgeable gamers working here. They knew a lot about the majority of the games and if they were age appropriate for kids. (meaning they were able to tell me the extent of why the games were rated as they were). Pretty good selection of games for all systems. Just not a fan of the trade-in values. But they have to make that profit right?? ;) read more

On launch day of Halo 5: Guardians the store was suppose to open at 10:00am. I waited for 30 minutes past the hour and the store never opened resulting in me and 4 other customers to drive to another store in a different city. This is highly unprofessional and this stores management needs to be scrutinized. Unacceptable. read more

We have never had a problem at Game Stop. When they haven't had something in stock they've offered to call other stores and find it. Went to this store twice now and the assistant leader girl with glasses with a chip on her shoulder who has an awful attitude assisted me. I got information from another game stop a couple miles away I could bring back a gold Xbox card, after finding out we already had live access. So we don't need it. Was told we can return it back on my card. This girl here was all bitchy from the beginning, asking what I had it my bag like I was holding shit. Seriously, I hate being lied too for one thing but I hate a rude person before I even explain anything. If the other store was wrong fine , but don't be a jerk. The last time I was there, it was after black Friday and she was talking to me and another customer about how they have nothing left, and practically yelling at us for having the audacity to ask if they had something. I'll be going to the Wal-Mart location one, I'm tired of the rudeness. Btw I also stood there while another clerk was behind the counter and she was real sweet and happy so I'm giving this two stars for her because she was at least nice. Bad customer service from a leader employee, she might need to get her attitude in check. Lastly called the other gamestop who said we could return the card and they apologized they were wrong. Said how I can still use the card to add it to my account, which is what this other store girl should of said instead of give attitude. read more

I would recommend driving the distance to another location. My husband and I go here often, but as of last Friday never again. The store manager Martin, or mark was so entirely rude. His demeanor towards my husband was disgraceful and obvious. I am disappointed in the customer service here. We went to the one in Vista, and we got excellent service. read more

Poor service, unfriendly and rude. Go the distance and try the mall. They are everything this location is not. For an empty store you would think they would at least be friendly. read more
