Went to return a Pre-Owned NON wireless switch controller purchased from GameStop and Josh insisted he cannot take it in due to not being able to "test" it. Just stared at me blankly and told me a story that someone else tried returning a non working controller. If it's from GameStop and preowned, what exactly does that have to do with the customer if the controller initially came from GameStop. He legit just told me to go somewhere else. Several questions arise from this: For a game store, why is there no way to check non-wireless devices. I asked, hypothetically, if I said the controller was "defective", what could be done. He said , "Nothing. Go to another store." Not a reasonable expectation to have a customer bring in their own system for an employee to check if a controller the store sales works. Additionally, he told a customer that NO gamestops sale capture cards. Go to Best Buy as opposed to saying nothing at this location, let me check other areas. GameStops do sale capture cards. He also Insisted buy 2 get 1 free applied to all preowned and had people looking for current gen games. Also false. I've had so many great employee interactions at this location and Josh clearly shows he is not one of them. Please have him go through proper training or hire someone who at least takes a small fraction of their day to review what GameStop offers. read more

That's where Gamestop steps in. Every time I've been to this store, the employees have been patient and answered all of my questions. They make sure I get any and all discounts that may be applied to my purchase. They also never try to upsell me or pressure me to buy extras I don't need. When she got there they just pointed and said it's over there, neither one of the so called gentlemen brought her to the item or brought the item to the counter. I give this location as bad a rating as I can due to the employee telling me I was not allowed to have my longboard inside, or even or behind the counter till I finished my business there. I have no way of locking up a board outside let alone trust a complete stranger to watch something that can easily be stolen. Very disappointed at this rule. Any skaters be warned. A few months ago Gamestop's had a sale on action figures and I ordered a bunch online. The had the few figures that I wanted for a good deal so I put the order in and the website and soon got a verification that my order was ready for pick up at this location. I came from a long way and the guy at the register didn't even acknowledge that I was there. Finally I told him that I had an online order to pick up and he seemed like he didn't know what I was talking about. Finally he got on the computer to check and he finally came to the conclusion that he sold my order earlier to someone else. I was pretty mad my first thought was how could that happen, and he said someone with the the same name came in and got picked up the order. Which I think is BS, the sale was for almost 75% off of these figures. There was definitely something shady about this location. read more

I received an email and checked it out. To my surprise it said they had new deals in the VR helmet for P4. I have not been able to find that since they sold out on Black Friday and ignorantly I promised my son it. So I called to check if was actually in stock or just another marketing gimmick to get you in the store. Monica answered the phone and said let me check. I waited on the phone over ten minutes. I think something that easy as checking if something is in stock or not should not take more than a minute. I hung up and called back and they didn't answer. I called again and got hung up on. I seriously don't know why customer service is so bad these days. Is it because milenials would rather text you answers than tell you but I had to write a review for their poor customer service. I used to be a very loyal Gamestop shopper especially at this location. For the past 7 years I've been shopping here. I used to love it here but these past months it's left an extemely bad taste in my mouth. Especially when being helped by Lily I believe her name is. I don't frequent video game places, but I sometimes have to help my clients with their game purchases. I work with developmentally disabled people. I was VERY disappointed with the service that was given. The scum bag that "helped" me over the phone first off kept me on hold for 10 min. I had very simple question. So I called back in a few min. He answered the phone completely being confrontational with me. Asking me "oh what you couldn't wait?? Couldn't wait hu?? Telling me to come down so we can hash it out in person. I said couldn't wait all day on the phone. He wouldn't help me at all. Wouldn't look for the game I requested. Said in a very condescending way "what normal people do is go on line and look for their games. U could always do that." I replied, "what do u get paid for?" I ended up calling him a kook and hung up the phone. I consider myself to be a nice guy. I don't like confrontation. But this idiot was way out of line. I will NEVER buy a game from GameStop. Absolutely worst customer service my husband and I have ever encountered. We stopped at the GameStop in San Marcos and they were amazing but they didn't have the game I wanted so they sent us to Escondido. We walked in and the they looked at us so rudely like we were going to steal something! Then one of the guys is with a customer but asks up how he can help us. My husband says we are looking for skyward sword and he says "why don't you let me help these people first" in the rudest time ever. Okay dude you asked how you could help us! Then we get to the counter and the guy is giving us a horrible attitude I ask for the game and asked for a used one he rudely tells me they are all used and I'll be paying $60 and I don't even get a case! We also overhear another worker telling a kid he's better off giving away his xbox360 because the controller is beat up and they will give him $20 at most which is bs poor kid could sell it on craigslist for way more. They were just completely rude to the point that we walked out with out the game and it was something I really wanted I'll be going to best buy instead. Store manager is a Tool!! I recently tried to return an Xbox One game I did not like. Titanfall. I couldn't find my receipt and wanted to exchange for something else. I forgot about their lame 7 day return policy but wanted to see if they could look up my receipt in their computers. Their computers could not find my recent purchase of a few weeks ago. What the hell!! Really, as much as Gamestop robs its' customer they can't upgrade their purchasing databases. So I try and explain this to the short, fat, guy with a beard who is a worthless manager I believe and he was so unprofessional and basically tried to just give me the corporate number because they couldn't find my recent purchase. They basically wanted to have me trade in my game probably for half of its' value which is ridiculous! Gamestop employees are usually very friendly and will bend over backwards when you are going to buy something from them. But come trade-in time and they are real a-holes! Especially this store and manager. About a year ago I tried to trade in my unopened Call Of Duty MW3 game and the same manager told me he could not accept an unopened game and that I would have to open it in order to get my $10 trade that he probably would have offered me. I don't know if it is just this Gamestop but what happened to customer service? I don't think I want to buy crap from them anymore and will not review my Power Up card anymore.
