Gen Z workers give the legendary Comics N Stuff brand a bad name. I've been going to CnS for decades and it's always a good place to check out while the family shops for clothing. Unfortunately this location has been a problem for quite a while. Every time I come here there's always something with the employees that so unprofessional. I get it, it's a comic book store in a mall, but the people that they have working here believe this is their personal hangout.. As for comic selection, this is basically a Marvel and DC shop. You'll have a tough time finding anything independent. - Completely inappropriate music playing sometimes. - When there's more than one person working they basically are loud and goofing off. - No active help from employees. You have to walk up to the counter and get a passive aggressive response. This isn't the Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop so stop acting like it is. - Various activist and virtue signaling posters. This is a business, not a Jr. college library. Are the owners aware of this? - This is multiple times, not just one "bad day". Owners- I like comics because of escapism. There needs to be more oversight / training at this location. read more

The staff were ultra helpful setting my 7 year old daughter up with extra energy, trainer, and object cards for her newfound interest in Pokémon TCG. Super grateful! Look forward to coming back for more boosters. read more

I'm not from the area, and we were just at the mall to grab something to eat. We came across this store, and thought we'd check it out. The place was pretty cool. Lots of cool finds in there and prices are fair. My son asked for a lot of help from the employee working on that day and he was very helpful. Clean & decently-organized shop. Lots of Pops & figurines. Situated inside the mall. Books in long boxes are predominantly modern books. I haven't seen anything older than books from the '90s. Books are priced slightly higher than their FMV by about $1-2. No dollar bin books. If you have expendable cash & don't want to wander further, sure come here? At least the workers are nice & conversational. The AC is solid too. Otherwise, move along if you're looking for big books, keys, or browsing dollar bins. read more

The guy with the long hair at the cash register was extremely rude. I had two questions for him regarding the coin machines up in the front of the store. I never got a chance to my second question because he was very smart about the first question and simply turned around. I work with young adults who have intellectual disabilities, many of them come to this store with me because they like the coin machines an also all the retro items here. However, the way this employee treated me and my client shows the kind of rude people who are working here. My client told me that he never wants to come back to this store because of this and I also won't be coming back. read more

My LCS closed so I came here. They have a huge store at this mall. I've seen them before in other malls and they are usually selling funko or posters(small stuff) not comics. If they don't have something they will call around for you. Awesome customer service and super friendly people that work there and are into the same genres as I am. We relate. Yay! LCSs are pretty much dying out so maybe this is the new new. Happy I have a place to go. Try it out if you are in the same situation as me. Awesome huge comic shop. Lot of cool things to look at and always has exclusive pops available that are organized and easy to look through. I appreciate the humorous signs explaining what the comics are about. My only complaint is the staff. The guy I usually see there is awesome. Super helpful. However there are two females on staff that won't even acknowledge me as I walk in and seem bothered if I ask a question. read more

Cool store to look at, not to buy from. Do not come here looking for trading cards, especially Pokémon. Everything is marked up way over MSRP, even new releases. They also made a lovely sign for their booster packs stating "A staff member will pick your pack for you NO CHEATING!" When not only are those booster packs marked up, but are very clearly resealed. I could tell even standing at the counter. So who are they trying to make sure doesn't cheat when they're the ones cheating? Definitely preying on kids and parents that don't know any better and it's just a shame. The comics and SOME collectibles are priced accordingly, mostly because it's printed on the package itself. But store is riddle with passive aggressive signs and is just plain unwelcoming. I hoped not all comics n stuf locations weren't the same in their practices, but it seems they are. Fell prey to resealed packs at mission valley, theirs weren't so obvious until you held it. Used to be my favorite store as a kid in San Diego, they seem to have lost their way or I just never noticed. read more

Not only do they scalp Pokemon cards and try to sell them at inflated prices, but they also repackage them. Bought a $40 box from them, ended up with all 8 packs being re-sealed. Called them and they just played dumb and pretended they didn't know about it. Just buy cards from the Target in the same mall, or get better scalped prices off EBay of all places. read more

While the selection is rather impressive and I've been going for years. I've certainly noticed a decline in customer service. Anytime I have gone in the last year as been met with sarcastic, apathetic and, sometimes down right bitter attitudes (especially from the tall young lady with the short blonde hair). I stopped even asking for help a while ago because the employees made it abundantly clear that I was bothering them. Pretty lame because this was my go-to store growing up. read more

If I could give less than one star on here I would. Two young ladies working....blonde and red haired lady. Walked by multiple times and didnt even say hello, welcome, or ask if I needed help. Just continued with their personal conversation which I could hear from across the store. Hopefully one of them is the owner because if those were my employees I would can them immediately. During the beginning of the Pokémon blowup recently, they started charging higher prices for their cards but had a reason that they had to pay that high of a price to even get the cards in their stores, which was understandable, but now whenever I walk in, they're selling packs and boxes on the day they released for almost double what I get them from any other store. Store has started scalping. read more

These guys are OK. If you need a quick gift and can't wait to buy it online, this joint might be for you. They have lots of interesting things here, prices are reasonable given they must lease expensive mall space. This is a boutique collectibles store that sells comic books and related collectibles. Hardcore comic geeks should look elsewhere. The clientele here is the casual comic book reader or the person looking for a neat gift. They have been around forever in San Diego, I remember them from the very early 2000's. There are several stores around SD County. The employees are nice but definitely not comic book experts so don't go in expecting that. For these dumb asses that do, you're stupid. read more

For a comics shop in a mall, this place is better than some free-standing joints. They also have a massive store in El Cajon (haven't gone to it yet, but will SOON!) they draw from to get hard to find or comics, TPBs, and other comics related stuff. The staff are awesome and talk to the regulars and familiar faces. Hell, they bring my weekly books to me when I browse through the shop with my wife. Can't find service, friendliness, and the vast knowledge of comics anywhere else. read more

Rad place to check comics n stuff out. Lots of old titles to thumb through to hopefully find that missing link to your collection. Tons of rad collectibles from toys to stuffed characters to old forgotten trading cards. Super fun. Dude there is super cool and I enjoy talking comics with him when I get the chance to roll in here. If they dont have what youre looking for... ask. I was offered a special order for what I was looking for... Still waiting for the phone call, technically. But it was offered. Great store for comics, figures, and statues. While they do have a large selection of back issues they are little high on their pricing. Doesn't matter if the comic is NM or G their prices will range from 3-5 dollars for all of their back issues. There are a lot of books that you can find in almost any store in the dollar bin. Good store to go to if you have exhausted your search at other stores. read more

I go here for my Rick and Morty comic fix. I also show up during Christmas for gifts. They move around a ton in the mall! At least 6 times in the last few years. It's like a treasure hunt. They have fair prices and the owner and employees are superb. Great for whatever is popular at the time and basically for anything that you can put a logo on! read more

Comics N Stuff at the Westfield North County is a Five Star Comic Book Shop! Hayley, the store manager is really cool. She is always friendly, helpful and has a great personality. Hayley goes above and beyond with her Awesome customer service. I thought her name was Harley like Harley Quinn when my husband and I first met her. So we call her Harley at times. Her associates Seth, Nick, Diva and Vicki are awesome too! My husband Ramon and I Love buying comics from the shop. This store has all of the new releases in comic books, graphic novels toys, action figures, Pop Funkos and so much more! This Comics N Stuff in the mall is a Favorite of mine and my husband. We love how everything in the store is always nicely organized and clean. All of the store associates create a very relaxed and super friendly nerdy atmosphere. Stay away with this store if you are a trading card collectors. I spent a lot of money in this store to buy pokemon cards. I tried 2 branches of this store the 1 in el cajon at the one in mission valley mall. I am surpriced that they are selling resealed pokemon cards. I got a white card many times but i got a regular rare. No shiny rare. I didn't get even one shiny card. All are garbage cards and the pack i noticed a glued resealed packs. I thought at first it's just an error pack but after opening more than 30 boxes and canisters of pokemon cards from this store i finally realized that i was scammed by this store. Since then I didn't enter in this store. I want to sue them for selling me a resealed over price pokemon cards. If i can only give them a negative 1 million rating i will do it. Save your money guys don't buy in this store with a very bad reputation in trading cards. If you enter in the store you will noticed they are selling empty canisters of pokemon cards too!!! All their pokemon cards are resealed. If you don't want to believe me.. try it by your own risk. Buy from them and you will find out that I'm telling the truth. read more

Awesome store. I come here every Wednesday to pick up comics. The display shelves are always full. If I cant find something, the staff is always willing to help. And if the item is not available, they will call and check their other locations. Being in the mall, the store can get busy, but theres always room to move around. The employees catch on and recognize the regulars quickly. Isnt it nice when people know who you are when you walk into a store? The lady that works here Wednesday mornings if phenominal. Shes always working and staying busy, but wouldnt hesitate if a customer needs help (or looks like they need help). Even when the store is empty, you wont find her standing idly behind the cash register. Most importantly though, she is incredibly humble. It just seems like she loves her job! Best worker ever? HORRIBLE, watch out they price items one price and when you go to pay they have another price. Seen a really cool jacket that was priced $19.99 went to pay and was told it's $74.99 when all the tags said $19.99 I asked why does it say $19.99 and was told "I forgot to change them." Then when I spoke to the manager was told too bad it's called "human error" what kind of customer service is that? It's not like I was buying all the jackets or was told how about we meet in the middle since we messed up. I come in here with my boyfriend every once in a while to buy Magic the gathering booster packs. I definitely don't think this is the place for serious collectors. It's got a little bit of everything collectible. It's like the Wii of comic stores: something to bridge the gap and appeal to the masses. It's nothing hardcore. The evening of Wednesday 22 June, 2016, I show up to Comics N Stuff North County Fair at 8:52pm, eight full minutes before the mall closes at 9pm, and the comic store's gate is down and a young woman, blonde hair, glasses, short-cropped hair tied above her head is tallying the day's receipts. Another couple, regulars like me, show up and get her attention through the gate. As do I. We ask to come in. She pauses, considering her answer, and says, "No, sorry, we're closed." I drove from Vista to shop there, as I have before with as little as 3 minutes left to shop. First time I've been turned away. And the last. It surprised me that in today's economy, and especially with the rent Comics N Stuff pays to the mall, that the store can afford to close early and TURN AWAY THREE CUSTOMERS.(Perhaps more, since I don't know for sure how early the young lady closed the store and prevented more sales). And Wednesdays are when new comics come out, so product demand is high. Perhaps if the store's management took customer service and lost sales seriously, they wouldn't put staff on closing shift that didn't want to be there. Closing early is against North County Fair policy. I know this because I contacted the mall directly. A citation against Comics N Stuff is forthcoming, as of 23 June, 2016. If it happens to you, like to me, and others that night, notify the mall. STORES CANNOT CLOSE BEFORE POSTED CLOSING MALL HOURS. And contact Comics N Stuff's HQ store on El Cajon Blvd in El Cajon, and let them know when one of their mall stores turns away business. I'm doing that as soon as I finish this review. This location has so many action figures and comic books on display. My friends went crazy at this store and ended up getting a ton of comic books that they didn't have yet. The items here aren't too pricey at all. Not too bad. read more
