Comics n stuff

The guy at the register was not very friendly, interacted with him 2 times and both times he acted the same, didn't really have a choice on who to check out with because he was at the register. Other than that, big store, lots of cool stuff. Id still recommend, they just need to have people there that know how to interact with the public. Shouldn't work in retail if you don't like people.

My search for Funko Pop continues south of Orange County in Carlsbad. This small business is located inside the Carlsbad mall, on the 2nd floor next to Sears. The mall is sad and going though a facelift, and there's plenty of construction to make it difficult to gain access to this place. Walking in, this is a big comic / collectible store. The staff is friendly but not overly helpful. If you need something, you need to seek someone to help you. The prices are competitive (at least for the Funko's) but what irks me is they put the price tag on the front of the box, on the plastic. I don't know why they can't put it on the bottom or top of the box, so that there's no gummy residue on the front. I was able to find 2 Funko's that were not in my collection. The boxes are in mint condition, and not even dusty. Kudos to them for keeping their store clean.

With over 200,000 comic book back issues onsite, there has to be a stack of titles you desperately need. And, while you're there, you'll certainly want to paw through rows and rows of collectibles, vintage toys, T-shirt's, and just about everything you'd hope to find at San Diego Comic-Con. The store doesn't offer much in the way of original art (for that you will have to visit your local con) and they're light on Gold Age and Bronze Age editions, but did you really expect to find those in a comic book store located in a failing shopping mall? Of course not. Nevertheless, if you love comics and you need to fill in some holes in your collection or you need to stay current with new issues or a geek you love needs a gift, this is a place you definitely need to visit.

Absolutely in awe at the selections here. From Foreign monies and Funko Pops to GI Joe collectables and row upon row of comics. Probably the most well stocked Comics store I have ever been in. The service was top notch as well. I was just wasting time while the girls went shopping and could have spent a day in here and still not see everything

They have lots of old bills forsale!

This store is awesome they have a little bit of everything ranging from comic books, cards of everything ( Baseball from 90's, Garbage Pail Kids, etc) they have action figures from everything I could think of I saw it! The monopoly section has soo many different versions I didn't know what one I wanted! They have a old currency section that had a few good pieces and pretty much any merchandise you can think of from superheroes to movies this is definitely a nerds paradise and one of the coolest stores in this mall!

collectibles of every kind ~ key chains to figurines

Pros: * wide range of items (everything from traditional print comics to trading cards and clothing) * friendly knowledgeable staff * an interactive, user friendly website that allows direct ordering * they offer comic book sets * lots of hard to find titles and original artwork * great locations (seven around the county) Cons: * their hours are based on the mall Overview: I have been a die hard comic book fan since I was old enough to hold a book. However, I don't fall into either the DC or the Marvel camps. Don't get me wrong, as I think both DC and Marvel are great, but I've always been more of a fringe sort of reader, focusing more on indie titles like the ones from Dark Horse. And because of this, I think Comics-n-Stuff is a great store to get lost in. Any one of their stores (as a side note, there are seven spread out across San Diego county) is a wealth of imagination offering the hot trendy titles as well as the off the wall titles that you run into unexpectedly and are left scratching your head thinking, "what the heck is that?" I think it's great to be able to find stores like this one still around, as many independent bookstores are closing their doors as corporate giants like Amazon take over. As a child of the '70s, growing up most stores had a comic book rack next to the magazines - and it was an adventure the first of every month when the new titles came out. Those days are gone, but thankfully there are a few places scattered about, where the adventure is still very much alive and you can still experience that old school feeling of amazement - Comics-n-Stuff delivers in spades. They have all major comic titles and many hard to find ones as well. Of course they also carry a diverse line of graphic novels, collectibles (pop and vinyl figurines) gaming materials, and even some clothing. Overall, if you need a gift or just a bit of inspiration, Comics-n-Stuff is the place to go.

They do have a discount card, I was given it for $5 and bought enough that it more than paid for itself twice over.

One of life's joys is discovering a great family run business…read more We stopped here after getting caffeinated at Dunkin Donuts across the parking lot. Another positive experience. Comic Stronghold is a son Gavin, and a Mom Trish and Pop operation. They carry all the current comics, from Patrick Horvath's Beneath the Trees, to all the new Marvel & DC titles. They even have a comfy reading area. Gavin knows his titles and is great with service and offering value to the buyer. For instance, his Ashcans are free and he has set up a table with free posters. Wow. Nice.

I'm going to start by saying I'm a comic book store snob. I go to a lot of shops and Comics…read moreStronghold has really grown on me. It's VERY welcoming and clean for new readers, kids, or comic curious individuals. For example, I dropped in after the new Superman movie came out and there was lively conversation. The owner was directing first time readers to All Star Superman which made me happy. Flash forward to this past weekend and went on Free Comic Book day(first Saturday in May) and the owner was working out of his mind to make it an amazing experience for all which warmed my Captain Cold frozen heart. Big discounts and people dressed up! I'm guaranteed to come back now that SoCal Comics has closed which ran one of the best Free Comic Book Days. RIP Uncle Ben & SoCal Comics. The Comics Stronghold is building a back issue presence and have discount bins and bundle packs which I love. I did not think this store would last when it opened, but they have endured and seem like they have regulars! Thank the Beyonder! I'm curious if they will really lean into the diversification and have Game/Comedy nights. The competition is tough being so close to Ninja Exchange and Comics-N-Stuff(DONT GO THERE). If I wasn't broke I would start a pull list from them because would like to see this shop succeed! Excelsior!

Great. Great. Great comic book store! Probably the best I've been in, here in SoCal so far…read more Daniel and his associates are amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are inline. Mostly, the original price as marked on the comic. Very few markups. No geek airs either. Just very accessible. They even had a local coffee vendor offering samples and donuts when we were here. Wow

Hubs found another "happy place" in SD County!…read more Knowhere G&C is located in an industrial area of San Marcos, near an antique mall, several home furnishings stores and next to San Marcos Deli. This seems an ideal location, with plenty of free parking and, judging by the flow of pedestrian traffic in and out of this shop on a "Comic Book Wednesday" many customers agree. Hubs declared a large selection of comics, games and collectibles. He proudly emerged over an hour after parking with a smile on his cute nerdy face and a bag filled with reading materials in his hand. He was very surprised and happy that his purchase amount ~$80TL awarded him with a cool graphic novel. Happiness shortly turned to a bit of confusion when he took a moment to peruse his receipt and discovered he had been charged about 4x the amount he should have been for a comic. He checked online to make sure he didn't grab a ltd edition, or special release, and determined he hadn't. I waited while he returned inside. About 10 minutes he reemerged - HAPPY AGAIN! Seems the clerk, Daniel (guessing from the receipt ), didn't catch it and agreed it had been incorrectly priced. He further apologized saying he usually catches the comics over $20 and confirms the customer is aware when they are purchasing a more expensive issue. So Daniel was sorry he missed that completely. Hubs confirmed that he was still ok receiving the free graphic novel and was assured, yes, his purchase amount still qualified for the free novel. The over charge was returned to Hubs and he was happy with the store, Daniel and his customer service. Knowhere G&C has been bookmarked for our future SD road trips. Cheers! "CC"

5/5 - Exceptional Experience at Sanctum Temecula Card Shop!…read more Sanctum Temecula is hands down one of the best local card shops I've visited. The atmosphere is welcoming, organized, and perfect for both collectors and casual players. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, whether you're talking about Warhammer, Pokémon cards, or One Piece TCG. I had a great personal experience shopping here--Rob and Dan was friendly, patient, and willing to answer questions or share insights about upcoming sets and events. The Warhammer selection is top-notch, with plenty of paints, minis, and supplies. Their One Piece card inventory is well-stocked and fairly priced, with a genuine focus on building community rather than just making sales. They have a limit of pokemon cards and make that for the younger generations to have. Whether you're looking to expand your collection, play in a tournament, or just hang out with fellow fans, Sanctum Temecula offers a positive and professional environment that makes you want to come back. Highly recommended for anyone who loves trading cards and tabletop gaming!
