I stopped in here on a whim to have my Pokémon cards evaluated. While that isn't something that they usually do for a set (they evaluate/buy individual cards), the people in the store put aside some time to educate me on the different cards I had and their possible value. You can tell that this store has people who are really passionate about what they do And are not just run if the mill employees. They took the time to tell me about several of my individual cards, show me how to find their value online and gave me recommendations as to where I could sell them. I signed up online for an event 5 days before the date and planned on going. Unfortunately, a family emergency kept me from attending. When I called an hour and a half before it was meant to start to ask for a refund, I was told I was not able to be given one due to the event having sold out before the day of. There's no way for me to know that since I don't check their page everyday after I've already paid for an event, but I also had no way of knowing I wouldn't be able attend on the day itself. I've had issues with other stores in this chain before and hoped there wouldn't be any issues, but I can't say this interaction has changed my opinion on recommending any location to folks looking for somewhere to play card games. read more

This happened about a year ago when my friends and I used to consider KSG our venue to go play at. There was an event at KSG that I brought all of my friends too because it was to assist getting warhammer community going at the Oceanside store. We went every weekend to show our support. Until it was a second event. Basically it was a participation event of going and playing warhammer and getting the name of it out there. There were two players one until I didn't find out until after, one of the players kept harassing my friends and I when we were doing what the event said was to go play warhammer. However this player didn't like the fact I brought as many players in as I did and kept saying we're not "playing the game he's playing" he then proceeded to talk smack about my pregnant wife at the time making sure I overheard it. The store manager proceeded work with the person much closer after we brought it up to him and the manager did nothing but shooed us off like we were nothing. The other player I mentioned also said the same thing but at a different location. Needless to say I will never be going back and neither will my team. read more

Nick & Aliyah are the best! They're so friendly and genuinely love card collecting and playing! I went in to get an amazing deal for my trade in's and they went above and beyond for their service it genuinely made my day! I even called my girlfriend after because I was so excited of the deal I got for the cards for one and 2nd of how amazing of an interaction I had! Still nothing changing here. Same over priced scalping store. Charging people 2 to 3 times the market pricing just because they have the product. Stores like this take advantage of the community and fans. This store is losing fans and customers very fast. I honestly don't know how this store stays in business. I honestly believe all the other stores support this store and that's how it stays afloat. Because this store is horrible and over priced. Avoid if you can!!! Really like this place! This place has a lot of cards! If you buy some cards you get one free mystery card! Really cheap, I bought a palkia pack of Pokémon cards and was $10-15$ If you go on wensdays you can go to a training club and if you sign up you get a free pack of cards. The service is awesome! I have visited this store twice since they opened and this last time purchased an Evolving Skies Booster Box. Opened it with the family and had very good luck, 10 hits!! This is My favorite local game store in San Diego County. I drive from Escondido, which is over an 1hr round trip because of the customer service provided here. Not only do they provide excellent customer service, they have the consumer in mind when it comes to pricing. Their pricing is great and crushes all other competition in this area. I've been going to Kingslayer for weekly Pokemon tournaments for about half a year now and plan to remain a loyal customer. Ever since I started going, I've experienced unwavering excellence in their customer service & overall friendliness. It's definitely helped keep me coming back for more. To shout out the staff, Andre, Nolan, Chris, Austin, and any other name I missed, all folks working at this location are great at what they do. I feel safe buying/preordering products from them knowing it's the best quality & untampered, and their prices are mostly good deals (at least fair). As far as the community goes, they keep the good energy going even beyond the store with their online communities on Discord, so I feel like I'm pretty much always connected to the Kingslayer family. My family and I have been coming to this establishment frequently since we've gotten back into Pokémon cards and love this shop! While my wife and I are mainly focused on collecting cards as their prices are pretty great for a local shop but we have had staff members have offered to teach us how to play the actual card game, which was pretty cool to learn! They have a great variety of card games ranging from MTG to dragonball and even host tournaments. I like this shop, but I come from a time where a "card shop" was a place to hangout, a place to have an experience and spend most of your day. A shop that would have 60+ for a standard magic event every Friday night and 100+ for every sealed prerelease magic event. With that said, this shop could maybe hold a top 4 or maybe a top 8 at best. Kingslayer is an amazing store/shop (not sure which it is) to buy product that is sealed or newer boxes. Kingslayer has random cards, but it doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to having that card. With that said, I don't think I would feel comfortable going to this shop if I was looking for one card or a few cards to complete a collection or deck. But I would feel comfortable buying one of their many sealed products. If it's Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, magic or another game they seem to have it sealed. However, if you looking for anything newer than maybe 2022, they most likely will not have it. read more

A fairly new card shop that has a decent stocking of the big card games like MTG, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh. I'm not familiar with the other card games, but the MTG product is pretty competitive pricing calompared to the online prices. Not a lot of singles, but that's given since it's new and split across three games. There does seem to be room in the back for playing but I don't know too much since I didn't show up to play and it wasn't one of their game nights. Staff was cool. But I wouldn't recommend bringing valuables here. I came in wanting to trade in a rare card because I was in need to sell. I was given an offer and said I would come back for it. I did sell some cards that day. They don't give you any type of receipt. Or keep record of any sale or offer. I was even told to come back to see if I could have gotten more money for my card after they had spoken to the higher manager about the rate card. I come back a couple days later and they lowball me. Not even remotely close to what I was offered the first time. And the staff were the same two people that helped me before. I drove all the way back so they could go back on their word. They don't even save what was quoted to buy. This store doesn't see heavy foot traffic. They knew I needed to sell it so is that why they tried to gut me out of the first offer and then pretend like they didn't quote me before ? Keep your word on your offer or at least keep track of your transactions like any other company would. read more
