Be prepared for a treasure hunt. Staff are always within range and will assist you with a friendly smile. Amazing how they can remember the location of products and point you in the right direction. Most products are reasonable. The store is large and you can easily become overwhelmed if not familiar with the lay of the land. However, if you cannot locate a member of the staff for guidance, you maybe on your own. It would be helpful for a Store Directory to help you on your treasure hunt for your needed supplies. There is a large parking lot that can get congested. Watch for pedestrians that dart out into the crosswalk with too much confidence that all cars will stop and not look both ways before crossing. I went in today and there was an associate that made my visit so unpleasant. They were restocking I suppose because they had bins all over the floors in every isle so it was hard to get through and this one lady who I unfortunately crossed paths with sees me trying to get my cart out of the way so she could pass by and she just rolls her eyes at me. I understand she must be in a rush to finish stocking the isles but her body language just threw me off. She was staring me down and rolling her eyes at every customer who accidentally blocked her path. She just looked annoyed overall. She had a fan over her shoulders like those portable ones and was completely out of it. If she doesn't have customer service capabilities then she shouldn't be working in retail. First time visiting a hobby lobby. Went around noon and it was pretty busy. The things I needed were said to be in stock at the store but I found that wasn't true. I found 2 out of the 6 things I needed. The price was good so I decided to pick them up and try Micheal's for the others. When I went to check out, there was 1 register open and I was the seventh person in line, a line that definitely wasn't moving quickly. I ended up setting my items aside and leaving. Bigger selection than Michaels, for most craft items. They also have a big selection of decor items, like vases, wall decor, etc, plus the fabric department and custom framing. Also larger selection of silk flowers than Michael's. I'm usually buying jewelry supplies, repair items like glue or cording, or holiday decor. Don't expect to find any Halloween items, just the "fall" category of plain pumpkins and leaves, etc. Their religious framework means they don't stock it, and they're closed on Sunday. They need to move into scanning items, instead of hand ringing everything. That way their cashiers wouldn't have to memorize all the sales and put in all the discounts. That would help speed up the checkout process, because there are always lines of at least 4 people no matter when I go in. read more

Oh my God where do I start for one You can't find anybody on the floor to help you find anything too. All their stuff is cheap. I've had a bad experience in front of the Hobby Lobby store in San Marcos... the lady there asking people to sign various petitions called me a Liberal Left Nazi and a fat pig and told me I don't know Jesus.... based on the Trump Merch at her table I'm guessing she's following someone other than Jesus....why does Hobby Lobby allow that in front of the store? No opposing views allowed...? In addition, my two beautiful frames and prints were framed in such an unprofessional manner one literally slipped down inside the frame within two weeks of having the work done there... Although they are well stocked with supplies, their customer service is absolutely terrible. Asked kindly a service member for directions for what I was trying to find ( poorly marked shelves )- she looked up with a very angry sour face and said "WHAT" as if I had interrupted her..... and she couldn't help me find what I needed. I love Hobby Lobby and (usually) everyone that worked there but today (!) was a crap show! Lines were loooong, very looong, and I was fine waiting but saw up ahead a customer with a basket FULL of Christmas decos , again okay with waiting until I realized that our line had been lapped by all of the other registers two times!! They then opened a new register one lane over and split the line, again we were lapped by the 10 deep customers in those lines. I walked out of line to the front and NICELY mentioned to the woman up front (Debra) what had happened and thought she might see if she could help move our line along by maybe getting help with wrapping the delicate items in the fill cart ahead or opening another register for us, but NO! She proceeded to question me about "who opened another register, it wasn't me!" I SOFTLY reiterated my statement and she came back biting my head off saying "it's the season, can't you see" and a few other rude and offensive remarks directed at me (yelling for everyone in line to hear). As I walked back to my place in line everyone behind me gave me a thumbs up and clapped for me. I've never been treated so rudely and abruptly by anyone at Hobby Lobby. Sadly, the customer in front of me had 62 skeins of embroidery thread to be counted and separated then one item got left out and had to be re-rung. For the length of time I spent , and everyone else was spending waiting, it might have been nice to hear a nice word come from an employee's mouth about being an appreciated customer! By the way, Debra went to the man with the FULL cart and instead of helping to wrap and pack his things picked up a few things and admitted his purchase. SNOBBY LOBBY!!!! Im a PROFESSIONAL ARTIST, I spend tens of thousands of dollars a year on art supplies. Although you'd never know it by how Im treated in this establishment. Every time I make the mistake of attempting to shop at this store, Im quickly reminded exactly why I swore Id never go there again. They are so rude and judgmental towards anyone with brightly colored hair or tattoos. Im hovered over from the moment I walk in the store and it doesn't let up until I exit. There methods of loss prevention far exceed accepted industry standard to deter theft. It seems like a prerequisite for employment to be condescending. The worst time a non-uniform employee pretended to stumble and forcefully fell into me and grabbed my purse and ripped it off my shoulder and dumped it on the ground and began berating me about how I was going to jail and what a scumbag I was. With the entire contents of my purse spilled on the ground, two more employees in uniform came up to inventory the contents of my purse. after 5 minutes of scrutinizing my property they discovered that I had no items in my purse that belonged to the store, even though I was innocent, I got no apology. The employees just stood over me as I embarrassedly picked up the mess of my belongings from the floor, and with tears in my eyes stormed out of the store. Sadly this wasn't the first time ive stormed out in tears, and it wasn't the last either. Id love to say this was an isolated incident, but this is the standard of treatment in every snobby lobby ive been to in 5 different states. Its absolutely ridiculous how badly they profile potential shop lifters and how excessively physical and dramatic the employees become and in my case totally unjustified. The fact that im always innocent does nothing to improve my treatment. They are so forceful to protect their merchandise that I can't even purchase any items because I am so traumatized by my treatment that I refuse to give the franchise even one dollar of my money! My car was recently stolen and I just went to liability only, so now I have to walk, hobby lobby is 3 blocks from my house. there isn't a Michaels with in walking distance. I try and I try to like this store....but just can't. There is no such thing as a quick stop for a roll of tape. The lazy manager only opens 1 or 2 lines (one of which is also a return line). There are always 8-10 people waiting in each line while the manager stands at the front of the store watching over the 2 tellers and pretending to be busy while talking to other employees. Spoke to Aaron the customer service manager about a safety issue on the floor near return register. It was a loose metal pole that had popped out of its connector and was hanging with sharp edges exposed. There was an elderly man using this pole to hold onto, not safe at all. Aaron showed no concern about a temporary fix or sign to inform customers of this safety hazard. When I worked retail, this would ha e been an immediate concern and addressed promptly rather than disregarded. Hoping no one gets hurt, and next time the safety committee meets they discuss temporary fixes until a maintenance can fix properly. read more

I'm writing today about an experience I had with an employee but in general this store has super long check-out lines. Like at least 10+ people deep which is always discouraging. I've yet to find the perfect time to come where lines are short. This morning left a bad taste in my mouth and I left pretty upset. While I was looking for some things I had a lady basically come and reprimand my 4 year old daughter for moving around the ink pads. She must have been watching her for a couple minutes because she stormed over already knowing what she wanted to say about her moving things. I've seen this employee before so maybe she was having a bad day but it seemed uncalled for. She then got in front of where we were looking to start reorganizing all the ink pads as she gave us a lecture. It was embarrassing and unnecessary. She could have waited until we left the area but she wanted to prove a point. Another customer nearby overheard her whole speech and actually gave me a look like "Woah" because her lecture was a little extreme. As we were leaving the store another costumer came up to me and said, "Look how good those girls are behaving." To which I replied, "thank you for saying that because they were just yelled at by an employee." Just a bummer to have employees who think it's ok so step in and prove a point to toddlers. I took my business to Michael's in Vista where I was greeted by 3 super kind employees which made up for the morning experience. If you're reading this, hopefully you have the option to choose another craft store. read more

I stopped here to return a couple items 2 wks ago. it has been busy when i was last there (November) so i alloted 30 minutes for my return. I was in line for ONE HOUR to make a return. Do you really think all your customers have this kind of time??? Also, your poor cashiers are using a very antiquated system. Punching each item in by hand, and having to check the newspaper for sales!!! Really????? It takes them FOREVER. Then returns, having to locate each single item and circle it with a pen and initial it. Really????? You are treating your staff poorly. UPDATE your system. This is not a small one store boutique. This is a chain!!! Give your poor staff a scanning gun and fix your issue!!!! It's absolutely ridiculous what is happening in your store. I counted 13 people behind me in my line. I am obsessed with Hobby lobby ! They have everything !!!! I stopped by yesterday to get some home decor for my pantry and laundry room. Of course I found what I needed because their displays are so easy to navigate. All of the wall decor was 50% off! If you have a wedding, a birthday, a holiday, or just want some crafts for your kids - this IS THE PLACE. I even come here in a me day. It's so peaceful and check out is always quick. They're so sweet here and I love how they are always a step ahead. If you want to shop for Halloween in July / not a problem. Shop for Christmas in August - no worries. Super bummed Hobby Lobby no longer offers the 40% coupon off one regular priced item. Most items here are usually discounted but it was nice to have that coupon because there's always at least one thing in the cart that isn't on sale. I usually download the coupon while I'm waiting in line with a cart full of stuff but couldn't find it any where on their website today. The cashier later confirmed they did away with it this month. Boo! At least I was able to get my baking odds and ends. As a bonus, even found a large piping tip organizer that I was in desperate need of. Customer service is terrible. I've never been in a store that doesn't care about taking my money and letting me pay. There is no running in and out. There are probably 20 employees on the floor and one check Out stand open. I Can't tell you how many times I've had to leave bc I don't have 20 min. To wait in line. I'm literally looking at 7 employees putting things away and the line is 7 people deep. I would come here a lot more. I know I didn't have to wait so long. This hobby lobby always seems to have the longest lines when checking out. I guess it wouldn't be so bad but what makes it worse, is you have the manager at the front while all these long lines form and waiting is going on, and he just walks back and forth doing I don't know what, looking at the line, fluffing up the items at the front registers... Last time I waited 35 minutes (not an exaggeration, actually timed this) to return an item and then another 15 minutes because the only girl on the one register messed up and shortchanged my return..and not even the manager could hop on any of the registers to help. Instead he was wiping down some carts during all this. Feel there has to be a better method here or something they can re evaluate to provide their customers with a better and quicker checkout process. I will just be ordering off amazon which proves to be a much more pleasant and smoother shopping experience all around. read more
