You can also set up an online account to track your score against other players - although not all machines supported this feature. It would be cool if they did, but I get that the ancient games don't really have the option. Another pretty great thing was that probably 99% of the games were operational. I think this place started out as a pinball repair shop, so they know how to get and keep them running, which is awesome. Call the store 4 times to confirm with no answer, so I just go to the store. I tell her I called with no answer and she scoffs, says I called at the wrong time, and just hands me the item. From my perspective, lines at Gamestop typically move very slow, but, nevertheless, I was there to return an item (not even knowing if they'd give me a refund) so I begrudgingly stepped to the back of the line and waited. There was only one employee working, Ash, and at first glance, the serious look on her face made me initially assume she was mildly irritated with all of the customers (never judge a book by its cover) or that whatever she was dealing with was going to take a long time. This was just me being a status quo dummy, expecting service with a smile for no good reason. I was also worried I'd be in line for an hour! I then hear cry out, "Can I help you?! Are you going to return that? Does it work?!" It was Ash (the only employee there, I might add), and, assuming it was far too early to get service (as there were a few people still ahead of me in line), I snapped back a bit and said "there's nothing wrong with it!! It works fine!!!! Why?!" Ash responded, and to my surprise (assuming she was about to come back with a nasty answer) she said, "awesome! I'm just trying to keep this line moving fast, sir". That's when I realized indeed how quickly the line had moved by that point already, and that Ash was servicing 2 customers at once!!! I immediately felt terrible for rudely shooting back at her, as I could see how excellent she was at her job! Minutes later, she had my used Nintendo WiiU In her hands, and without question, checked the device and had my refund to me in what had to have been less than 1 minute! She was very friendly. Ash, was/is, the most skilled employee at any GameStop I've ever been to, by a long shot! Sometimes employees who can be a little stern are actually just amazing at their job and busy. I was exercising a bit of entitlement when I first walked in, and walked out with a bit of shame for snapping at Ash, as she truly was friendly, helpful, and extremely fast! Pray that she's working behind the counter when you show up next time there's a big line in there! Every GameStop employee should take note.

They have a good stock and have never been out of anything when I've been in. (Granted, I am SO not one of those "wait outside the door the night before a big name game is released" type of guys.) Want to sell video games? They'll take them. Sure you don't get much FOR them, but that's typical. The staff is nerdy, but not aggressively so. In fact, non-aggressive is a good way to explain them altogether. They mention and inform me of all the special deals, but they don't harass me about them like other stores have. They don't try and get me to pre-order every single thing that's coming out. They keep me in the loop as to what is coming up but there are no hard sells. I appreciate that. Additionally, they are always handy with their opinions of which games are worth it and which aren't. So what's negative? Parking. I usually NEVER ding a review on parking, as I hate how car dependent we are here in KC. But it's just bad news here. Right off Westport Rd and Southwest Trafficway and sharing a strip with two incredibly popular restaurants, you can forget about street parking anywhere nearby and the tiny lot is always full. I generally park at Blockbuster across the street. Hopefully they never notice and tow me away. But regardless, the parking woes are not enough to dissuade me from choosing this Game Stop when I want to get my nerd on.

Excellent customer service via De Von at the Shawnee Mission T-Mobile store. Had a OnePlus 6T phone…read morewhich i've owned for over 2 years. Suddenly beginning of August, every call would drop at 3min 10sec. After investigation, many complaints arose with the same issue. This occurred after a software upgrade took place from OnePlus (Chinese). No time of a fix was given, so i decided with De Von's assistance to upgrade to a Samsung A71 5G. Without giving specifics, De Von was able to provide a sizeable discount being the issue with my OnePlus was not one i had created. He copied all info onto the Samsung and was very patient while i checked every aspect of data to ensure nothing was missing. I highly recommend asking for De Von if you are a T-Mobile customer. Just a side note, Samsung no longer makes their phones in China, but rather Vietnam which is totally fine with me.
