I've had multiple experiences here…read moreincluding a recent one where I had an order that I made last year that I couldn't pick up and when I finally was able to about a week ago, they still had it prepared to give to me and found it right away! They also offer pretty well for trades and not to mention, the staff and the owner are very fun to talk to about just about anything gaming or Pokemon. I highly recommend this place as they not only have great customer service, they have a lot to choose from in terms of Pokemon, MTG & even retro video games. Will definitely shop here again!

Unfortunately, the visit was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The storefront looked boarded up with wood covering much of the exterior, and it was so dark inside that I honestly couldn't tell if the store was open. Once inside, my girlfriend's son politely asked the employee behind the counter how much a pack cost. The employee responded with, "I can guarantee it's more than you have in your wallet." I was shocked by how rude and dismissive that was, especially toward a kid. That's not the kind of welcome I would expect from an employee. I then told him I wanted to purchase three Prismatic Evolutions packs. He looked at me and said, with an attitude, "You know they're like $20 each, right?" I told him that was fine, but the interaction left a bad impression. What should have been a fun and memorable experience for the kids turned into an uncomfortable one because of the poor customer service. I spent $100 on 6 packs of cards and i was going to buy more cards but didn't want to give them anymore business. I won't be shopping here again and cannot recommend this store based on my experience.

I purchased red dead redemption recently and it kept freezing In the loading screen. I called them as I live in Merced and was not going to make it back out to Modesto within the 7 day return/exchange period. Diego said since I contacted and stayed in touch he would accept my return or try and clean up the disc when I came in. When I did make it in after cleaning the disc a scratch remained and he recommended that i try their sister store utopia down the street since he did not have another copy. I found it at utopia and ended up getting the zombie version and red dead two also. I went back to return the copy I purchased from laughing crow but asked if I could exchange it for some enamel pins and cleaning the discs I bought instead of a refund since utopias disc cleaner wasn't working. He was pleased with the idea and we agreed on that. My experience with this store has been positive and it's clear this business and its workers stand by their product and their word. Games are organized alphabetically, with clear sections for each manufacturer, making your hunt for your latest video game obsession as easy as possible. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, with a lot of knowledge on the games they're offering if you have any questions. Prices seem pretty reasonable as well! Retro gaming can get expensive. I wouldn't say Phoenix Games is a bargain, but they're definitely not out to nickel and dime you from my experience. I really enjoyed my visit there and apparently it's run by the family. I was very impressed with the knowledge that they had about some of their Collectibles that were on display and for sale. I went in there several times because they were also a Amazon pick up and shipping store. While I was there picking up some items I really enjoyed looking at the things they had. I even came back and spent some time. Now if you're into card games or some of these other things this is the place to go. They also buy certain items if you have something you want to buy sell or trade. The things that made me interested was their Star Trek collectibles. I haven't seen items like this in 15 years which really excited me because I actually had some of those items, such as a Klingon Battle Cruiser that was still in the box. What to have some fun? Then visit this store.
