Ordered a dress shirt for my fire department. Took 2 months to arrive and they forgot to put the patch on the sleeve. Solution was asking me to drive 2 hours to the LB store to have them sew one on. No thanks. Ended up having to spend money out of my own pocket to order a patch and have it put on myself. Edit: dropped to a 1 star. Tried calling them to at least send me the patch I paid for via mail. 5 times. No answer. Will not ever trust them with my business again. read more

Barbara and Virginia have had a great impact on my awesome experience at Galls at this location. Barbara tailored my pants perfectly as I wanted them to be. Now as far as Virginia she deserves a whole separate review for her work as she has always helped me out the extent beyond which I've ever seen many Customer service representatives go. She has worked n getting my all items on time and has helped me find the right sizes and made sure I had the proper equipment issued to me while constantly working to help me find a pair of boots that I desperately needed. Everytime I go in I walk out very satisfied as she has went above and beyond to help me with my equipment. I have had experiences with others working here but it's clear who really works hard to help us first responders to get their equipment on time and with great support. Great service, I see many people complaining about lack of help but if you ask the staff for help they will kindly assist yes they get very busy so I understand the wait at times. I did . everything is fine except that they made a mistake. its ok. No big deal. during my sizing up, i was told two shirts and one jacket but when i picked up my stuff, i was given two jackets and one shirt. Its with my name on it. What a pleasant experience!!! Service and customer care was great. They took excellent care of me. They were friendly and super helpful. They let me know what was available and that they were going to different sources to get the quantity I needed for my requested sets. They had female uniform pants available and they altered both my shirt and pants without any problems. I was definitely surprised that they in fact carried FEMALE pants. Yes!!!! I have been coming to Galls for years and years and i have not yet had any problems with them. They are worth the 35 minute drive for me because they have nice gear and things i love to purchase here. I found Galls through a friend of mine that would buy his uniforms for work here and he still does as far as i know. I am no longer a guard anymore, But when i was, This is where i purchased all my things. Place is small inside and it can get hectic changing clothes and trying to get help. It has been a month now since I ordered my short sleeve uniform shirt. Still not available. I called two weeks ago and they told me it should be ready by the third week. Well it is not here. I guess when you monopolize the uniform market, you just do whatever you like and not keep track of the back orders. My shirt is not even a customized order. It is just a off the rack common uniform that all the local police department wears. It is really ridiculous that they still don't have the order yet. I give this place 1 star because of the horrendous customer service. I came in to get a uniform and walked to the sizing area where there was a young lady standing at the computer doing nothing and a gentleman at the other computer helping a customer. There were 3 customers in the entire store at that time. (1 was being fitted, 1 was looking around, and then me) I asked the young lady at the computer if she'd be able to help me. She said, "let me sign you in" and asked my name. I can tell from her tone and her eye roll that she wasn't in a great mood. She said "ok someone will call you". I asked how long the wait was as I was on a break. She said I don't know. Needless to say I left after 30 minutes because I had to get back to work!!! Mind you, she stood there the whole time doing absolutely nothing. The attitude of the people in there is awful. She is not the only one. read more

Place an order, pay for the order, was originally told 3 week lead/delivery time, it's been 5 weeks now, and being told another 10 weeks, it's a simple hat, not to mention getting nothing but rudeness and the run around for checking on my order!! This place knows they can be rude, because there simply isn't any competition, LEO's know they have to get/order uniform items and have very few places to order from. The thing is, this is a normal occurrence with Galls of LBC, it hasn't changed and I don't see it changing. If they don't like their jobs, then work somewhere else. Absolutely rude period. I walked in and didn't know about the signing in thingy. So I asked a female employee politely "excuse me is there someone who can help me find a tactical vest" she says in a very rude tone "did you sign in, you have to sign in and wait" wtf !!!! My wife was even insulted in her tone and no smile mind you. It's just fine I'll just take my $1 purchase elsewhere. "Update" It's good to know that people believe in a bad apple not spoiling the bunch. Susanne from corporate contacted me concerning my bad experience at this location. Service is always so slow. You go order your uniform and wait it out for almost a month. So if you need an uniform, hopefully you are a size that they always carry, if not then just make sure you go about 3 weeks in advance to make sure you have it ready. If you get it fitted or trailered, you'll probably have to go back more than once. This location has always had its negatives: Culver city may have a better operation. read more

They get a one star because they have a slightly larger selection than most stores but what good does it do them as a larger store if they don't ever have anything in stock? I placed an order for some Class B uniforms over a month ago and when I called to ask if they were ready yet they said they still hadn't received them. When they were just up the street, the store was bigger but the parking was ridiculous. Here the parking is fine but some of their inventory has much to be desired. I had to come here because I was assigned a post that required BDU-style pants. The ones issued by my employer way to big (I tell them I'm a 40/32 and they say "well, here's a large...") and I look like MC Hammer with billowing pants with a 44" waist and 38" inseam. One shift in the clown/MC Hammer pants was enough to buy my own. I went online and saw the 5.11, Propper and a couple other brands...walk in the front and they have the TruSpec right by the front...in black...in my size. Quick visit to the dressing room and they fit great. So, you're thinking, "Great, what's the problem?" Very little duty belts or gear. No straight batons and only a couple S&W collapsible batons (with the boxes taped shut), small selection of boots. Line to check out took a while for whatever reason (only thee people but wait was about 10 minutes). I wanted to get another pair but I'm working a "normal" 0800-1700 post and they're only open during "regular" business hours (also only a few hours on Saturday and closed Sundays). Great place to try something on and once you know your size for each manufacturer, just go online and eat the shipping cost. read more

For a month and a half straight I would get notifications that only my shirts were ready so I decided to show up on 7/15/22. Received one shirt. I asked about my other shirt and they brought it out with my pants. But they never notified me the order was complete. Same happened for my co worker that I ended up picking up for. Called this morning to check on the status of an embroidered shirt. Was put on hold for 15 minutes then promptly hung up on. This place is nothing short of a pathetic joke that my agency is stuck with because they hold the monopoly. If this place went under I definitely would not feel bad at all. They have crap customer service, shitty prices and turn around times. Once the call was answered she suddenly dropped that they're quarantining shirts for 3 days before they start working on it. Something that wasn't mentioned when the shirt was initially dropped off. This place is a shit show. This is after the said shirt was ordered thru a separate vendor because Galls didn't have it in stock. The shirt from the other vendor came and arrived in two days after Galls said it would be a month to stock in store. This is despite promising said agency they would keep them in stock for the contract. I sincerely hope the local agencies start pulling their business from this rip off joint and start looking elsewhere. This place has absolutely refused to get any better. As someone in the business for 27 years I sincerely implore those to go somewhere else. One way or another you'll get burned here. Not even three stars for this dump overall. Went in to buy uniforms a week from the date they were needed. I was told they would be ready by then. Received notification that partial order was ready. Called to see if tailoring was complete on other part of purchase. They had no clue where my order was. A couple minutes of digging and they said it was to be shipped to another customer in Temecula. Spent some time on the phone to make sure they corrected order info and all my contact info. I called three times more to check on the status up until the day I was supposed to pickup. Needless to say every phone conversation was an EXACT repeat of my initial call. Clueless, unable to track my order and unable to fix the error. Pretty weak especially since they hold large department contracts. Never again. read more

I came in for a last minute uniform and the front lady was lovely but whoever helped me with the actual uniform was so rude. She didn't seem to believe that i a young female was part of the fire department. Didn't help me at all. When I asked her questions she would ignore me and walk away while I was talking. She wrote down my email and number and said I was done so I left. My boss told me to go back in there because I am suppose to actually leave with the pants, shoes and belts . When I asked her why did you just let me go without the proper uniform she said because you just left. I'm so confused cause she said I was done. Buying uniforms was always done for me. Now that I need some patches, I've found myself coming here to the Galls in Long Beach, and ordered some fire-proof patches for our Nomex clothing and fit for duty. Well, the campany does a great job in the securing of these patches, and requires security checks to be sure there are no impersonators trying to pretend that they are with an agency. The patches turned out beautiful, and at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this Galls store for any Police or Fire needs, as well as agencies going to dangerous areas, requiring Nomex clothing or equipment. read more
