Nordstrom Rack is the closest thing Albuquerque has to a true exposure to quality retail shopping…read more This store is kept well maintained with clean doors and windows for a good first impression. The clothing racks are clean and organized as are the merchandise shelves. The selection of products spans a broad spectrum from casual and playful, to formal and upscale. Last September we were faced with an unexpected death of a young niece. I was faced with many challenges to overcome in a short span of time. I immediately went to my walk in closet looking for an appropriate suits and other dress clothing to wear during four days of greeting friends, neighbors and relatives who would be arriving from locations within Arizona, many other States and Countries. There would be Mortuary visitation, a Rosary, Funeral Mass, a Post Mass Luncheon, Private Family Internment at the Cemetery in 125 degree weather. I had lost over 100 lbs since moving to Albuquerque 4 Years earlier. Time to head to Nordstrom Rack with quit a long shopping list. I needed two suits, two sport coats, two pair of dress slacks, four pair of dress socks, two pair of shoes and two belts. I knew that I would be able to find everything with one stop shopping at a very wallet friendly budget. Two hours later we were back home with a heavy weight lifted off my shoulders. A very personable and attentive young lady approached me as I entered the Men's clothing department. She cheerfully offered, "Please allow me to set up one of our larger Men's dressing rooms for you. I will I'll also bring you a rolling rack to hang all of your clothing selections on so you can take everything with you in one trip. My name is Cheryl, should you need anything else don't hesitate to ask. If you don't readily see me please ask another associate to page me and I will be with you within two minutes." Upon arriving at the dressing there was a small table with bottled cold water, crackers and cheese and napkins. Within two days the store manager received a hand written letter stating what an example of true customer service had taken place in Nordstrom Rack from a Team Member who was a true Shining Star.

I prefer the sales but they're not that stupendous! I'd rather shop TJX. Very good deals there and…read moreat Marshall's for a fraction of the so called discount prices at Nordy's outlet!

Daiso is one of the coolest stores to hit Albuquerque in a while…read more Though it can be compared to the Dollar Tree as far a pricing, etc., I'd say the quality is much better and the available choices much broader. They have a little of everything from home goods to hobby supplies to gardening items. Chopsticks of all kinds, even the long ones for cooking, are available, and if you want to make your plate and bowl sets interesting, they have a nice variety to choose from, as well as bento boxes, food containers, etc. If you're looking for sauces and flavorings to up your ramen game, they have that too, along with a selection of foods imported from Japan, including some of the best instant ramen bowls I've ever had. They even carry a drink that's hard to find here on the mainland, direct from Hawai'i, Hawaiian Sun sodas! Though I've never had to ask for help with anything, the staff I have encountered have been pleasant and ready if there is need. Overall, if I had to choose between the DT and Daiso, I'd rather go to Daiso. Unfortunately, there's only the one store in town, so I save it as a treat that it is.

They are called 100 yen stores there. The prices all start at $1.75 and up. There are conversions charts all over for you to figure out the prices. Ok! I finally got in after an hour standing outside in the cold. I shopped for a 1/2 hour and then stood in line snaking through the aisles foe 2 1/2 hours to check out! Yes, it was an opening day 4 full hour adventure! Call me crazy. Got lots of Sanrio stuff, interesting food items, and kitchen gadgets. Would I do it again? Probably not, but I spent some time chatting with some wonderful people in line! Welcome Daiso to Albuquerque.

Old Town oozes charm and culture. You can visit a historic chapel, roam the many cute shops or grab something to eat at one of the restaurants. There's a lot of really interesting Native American keepsakes and art to check out as well. You also never know what could be going on here - I happened to stumble into a quincenera and visited around Day of the Dead, so there was some really neat decor all around. If there's anything you must do in this city, it's Old Town!!

My friend had a bunch of Native American shops bookmarked and they were all in this general area so we came to do multiple things at the same time. The shops here are closer to the reservation with lots of Native American artists so it is much more affordable than the same thing in Santa Fe. It is a bit touristy but we are tourists so we enjoyed it. Many shops had unique items that were hard to find and even though it was mainly for show I loved seeing the dried chili everywhere. The area has legit history and age and it was great being able to see and do so much without moving our car. Parking was easy and from the town square you can get to many different shops, restaurants, and attractions. The church was a nice fast stop, but I liked the exterior more than the interior. The vibe and architecture are perfect American Southwest and we enjoyed our time here. There was also a Pokemon card shop I grabbed some cards for the kids from!
