Old town on the same day of our landing to NM. And what we found. The beautiful church and the vintage cars "exhibit". Quaint little place with local shops, wine spots, souvenir shops, coffee places. First day made in Old town!

This a very touristy place. We grew up here so it's kind of sad looks nice but nothing is authentic. The stores keeps the original floors turned them into coffee shops and food places.. but they used to have a glass shop they they actually blew glass there it's gone. Times change coming back 20 years later for first timers I am sure they enjoy their visit but for us that have returned not seeing the stores with the little trinkets in them. They kept the storefront so there is a mixture of new and some old stuff not very many Indians on the outside selling jewelry.

A nice area to stroll around if you have time Parking: There seems to be a lot that you can park in. There is also some street parking nearby. The museum is adjacent and I believe you can park in their lot (if you buy a ticket to the museum) Shops: There are tons of shops to visit and a little square in the middle. Don't miss the toy shop and the rattlesnake museum! We did stop by several coffee shops that were closed which was strange but ultimately found and open one off the square If the weather is nice and you've got time, this is a nice area to spend a few hours strolling around - especially if paired with a visit to the museum

Such a cute area to hangout for a while! Unfortunately, I didn't really see many shops I was interested in looking at. It was still a very nice area to just walk around though. And the gazebo provided such a cute spot for a pic of my dog. The stores we did wander in were pretty pricey for items that weren't high quality. I've definitely visited better Old Towns in other cities.

Got to experience this area whilst visiting Albuquerque over the weekend. Gorgeous location with great shops and walkways. Friendly people, restaurants, shops, wine and things to see. We ended up doing a ghost tour to enhance the experience as well since we got a tour of the area with the open park area, cool cars, historic places and more. Would love to come back and explore more of it.

Plenty of shopping at your typical southwest style tshirt and jewelry shoppes. A few quaint ice cream shoppers. Love the entertainment in the gazebo center square. El.Mariachi bands and dancers. Old Town Car Club had many vintage cars on display and a fun parade. Recommend the Old Post upstairs for a drink and view of the square. Loved Church St Cafe and the architecture. Fun place to stroll thru for the day.

We really enjoyed Old Town Albuquerque a lot. Bought some items from the plaza indigenous stores which winded throughout, and ate at a local cafe. Lively historic downtown.

I truly love old town. It's probably my favorite part of town. When I first moved to Albuquerque for college, I think I came to the area once in four years. Then later on when I started working, I ended up in the area a few times for business lunches of which Church Street was a favorite. At the time there wasn't a lot of places that I really would want to hang out and there were a few very notorious tourist traps. Then around 2019, the area really changed. If you compare what it looks like now to what it was five years ago, it's a completely different area. There are so many great local businesses that really are deeply connected to the community and especially the artisan side of Albuquerque. it's my favorite part of town to just stroll around and enjoy the public arts, the great local vendors, and just a genuinely cool ambience.

I hadn't been to a Dia de los Muertos celebration before, so my husband and I visited the Old Town event. We enjoyed seeing the different ofrendas at many businesses as well as the one in the plaza gazebo. A couple of kids from the local school were proudly showing their parents the artwork they had made to honor their relatives. The evening ended with watching Coco in the San Felipe church courtyard, complete with popcorn, hot cocoa, and candy. It was delightful!

A cute and vibrant part of town with tons of historic architecture and shops. They've got a shop for anyone! There are puzzle shops, handmade soap shops, coffee and tea, wine, food shops, honey shops and so so much more. You've got the vibrant community and Native Americans selling handmade jewelry from necklaces to rings and bracelets. There is a Breaking Bad gift shop with stickers and photo ops too. I can't list everything this is to do and see. It's worth a stop.

Some fun activities for the Dia de Los Muertos on the plaza and surrounding areas. The activities make the area a fun place to be.

This is a very cute area full of old buildings that now house a variety of small shops (art, tea, wine, gift shops) and eateries. Worth a look when in the area. Plenty of Christmas shopping ideas. Dec 6 they are hosting an evening 'holiday stroll' event.

Fun area to visit--shopping, food, a central square. Some shops a little overpriced. Area is geared to tourists. Some shops have same items.

How much time would one normally spend to see Old town, Albuquerque?

If you like to browse through the shops and have lunch, a full day should do. We didn't have time for the Breaking Bad tour but we didn't arrive until about 11 and left around 4ish. I think I there was a museum that we skipped as well, due to time.

Soon enough I had fallen in love with an assortment of bracelets and earrings. I was impressed with her knowledge of the stones, the turquoise mines, as well as the indigenous artists who crafted the designs I selected. It felt like an educational shopping experience, which helped me make a more informed buying decision. I've never purchased turquoise, so I have no idea how GZ's prices compare to others. I was told the prices were wholesale since there was no middleman. I love the pieces I selected. I will be mailed a certificate of authenticity. Thank you, Bella at Gertrude Zachary!
