The Holiday Light Parade in Uptown. This is the best light parade I have seen in NM. Every year I have managed to miss this Abq event, and always tell myself that "next year I will go for sure." Well I finally made it and it was worth going to. I was worried about the park and ride. I know sometimes park and rides are a pain, but this one was actually quick, easy, and FREE. Many of the stores were allowing restroom use. There were local shops selling hot coco, and some were open for holiday shopping. There were a lot floats and characters that the kids love seeing like Star Wars, Micky Mouse, The Grinch, and Santa of course. My pictures don't do it justice, but we will be adding this to our list of local events that we don't want to miss. Getting back was a breeze because they had all the buses lined up waiting for us to go back. read more

Security are a whole other level of unprofessional and disrespectful. The head security is very disrespectful to customers when asking questions and is rude. Other security guards were helpful but the head of security was not. Extremely unprofessional and goes on power trips. Malls are fine but security ruined my overall experience. This seems to be a higher end outside or door. There are shops up and down each quadrant of this outdoor mall. It's smaller than I was thinking, but decent enough. Still a nice stroll around the shops. It's also a great day for a walk outside today as well. read more

There are so many wonderful upscale stores here. I love Anthropology, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Lush, Altar'd State, Lucky Brand, and so much more. My Apple Store and Mac Store is here. i was sorry to see that J Crew has closed their doors. I have had to run into the T Mobile store a few times too. There are an abundance of restaurants. Today we did Sahara, for eastern Mediterranean food. There is Bravo, California Pizza Kitchen, and numerous other places to tempt your pallet. read more

The Q is a little bit more upscale (as reflected in the prices)- Starbucks, Coach, Mac, Toni & Guy, Crepeology, Frost, Charming Charlie's, Lush, Elephant Bar. Sad that the Tollhouse Cookie Factory is no more. Expect to park a little farther away or have trouble finding a parking spot. It's the whole ambiance of the place. It is a newer strip mall in ABQ aptly called ABQ Uptown and my new favorite! Nice place to shop or walk around after dinner. It's newish so it's cleaner and sorta upscale for ABQ. They don't have Tiffanys or Louis Vuitton stores but they do have a couple of my favorite stores like True Religiion and Bebe. Borders is here too! Of course Marcellos Chophouse is here! Yay! Wait- Apple Store is so here! ABQ Uptown is located near two nice hotels and I stayed in one where I just cross the street and I'm there! Anything shiny pulls me in like no other! This mall has very tasteful smattering of lights everywhere and partly the reason why I'm so attracted to it, :) read more

Neat outdoor mall with a little something for everyone. They have a nice selection of places to eat ranging from home cooked food, to sushi, and even some fine dining depending on your taste. They even have a Starbucks to help give you that caffeine jolt you need to get you through the day. The retail shops range from designer clothing, to herbal teas, to cell phone retailers (AT&T, Sprint, TMobile), to even an Apple store and William Sonoma. I will advise that these retailer are not cheap by an means. Expect to spend no less than $15 and that's being generous with the retail shops. These shops are a little more high end and it reflects in their prices. The cheapest place would probably be the TeaVana with herbal teas. William Sonoma has all your culinary needs for home with some extras for home but by no means is it cheap. The Apple store expect to spend no less than $20 for their accessories and no less than $300 for their tech (if you find any tech for that price). The north face has lots of outdoor gear for hiking or outdoors gear. The restaurants that I can think of off hand are McAlisters, Elephant Bar, Bravo, Melting Pot, California Pizza Kitchen, and I'm sure a few others I missed but just depends on what your in the food for. Uptown is a great location but can be a bit pricey. On the weekends and during the holidays parking becomes scarce so I recommend going right at opening or half an hour before the shops close during that time because it will be difficult to find parking at those peak hours. read more

Who doesn't like ABQ Uptown?? I cannot remember where or how we used to shop before this little gem lit up Louisiana Boulevard. Now, they've already gotten the Christmas tree decorated (well before Thanksgiving) and it's another beautiful display. What a great place for a quick family photo! Even if it's another time of year, you can't help but love this outdoor marvel, shopping a few of the anchors like the Apple Store and Starbucks as you explore all the restaurants and department stores this little outdoor mall has to offer. Complete with an underground parking garage and next door to many other great shops and 2 traditional malls, you'll be able to find nearly anything you want. And all that opportunity means you won't be shopping alone ... especially around the holidays! In fact, an extra exit lane was added to the Louisiana exit off I-40 to accommodate all the shopping traffic this destination brought to the Uptown area. So, go ahead! Plan your shopping day here, and save room for lunch/dinner. read more

ABQ Uptown - Ready for the Holidays! - Shopping Centers Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

I wonder if the designers in ABQ said, "You know, there's only two malls in Albuquerque, and they're right next to each other. Where should we put our mall? How about right in the middle of the two?!" This shopping center kinda connects the malls Coronado and Winrock, but is classier than the other two (and newer!) It's an outdoor style mall, that's attractive and hip. The design is drive up, where there's curved roads that access not nearly enough parking, but generally in front of the place you wanna go. Parking can be challenging. There's a weird metal obelisk in the center of the parking lot with a roundabout around it. There's all kinds of national chains in here, like Starbucks, or the Apple Store. It looks like sort of a mashup between Tuscan and New Mexican design. They have tall, rock towers on the storefronts, and interesting metalwork around the parking areas. It has several intersections with Louisiana Street, and is easy to get in and out of. It's a much better use of space than the vacant lots that used to abound in this area. read more

**3.5 STARS** The BFF took us here to walk around... because we really didn't know what else to do... She compared it to Emeryville back home and she was right. Didn't really have much shops that attracted us to go in but the Apple store (where they had a few flowers and cards to in memory of Steve Jobs) and other than that... mellow place. One thing that I really liked: there's music coming out of the light posts... pretty cool and helped add to the chill atmosphere of the place. read more

Nice idea, sloppy execution. Took me ten minutes to leave the parking area at all once in my vehicle. NM drivers not used to this sorry of setup and were all getting confused. Big trucks have basically nowhere to park so they hang out of the spots. Not good! Bathrooms?? Didn't see any public ones and poor Starbucks was acting like Grand Central for rest room use. Not enough shade for NM. Should have height in some bigger trees or put awnings up like I've seen CO outside malls do. read more

A great little entertainment-community area. I've seen these type of developments popping up on other locations in California (Santana Row in San Jose; Americana in Glendale) and this is the best executed location I've seen. I guess what I really like about it is the design and color scheme of everything - it's noticeable and modern, yet still true to its New Mexico/Southwestern roots and fits with the surroundings. There are some good options for shopping and dining. For me, the best part was actually just sitting outside enjoying the warm night air and people watching, while enjoying the outdoor music...very cool. Its proximity to the Marriott Albuquerque and Sheraton Uptown are also great for those visiting and staying in the Uptown area. read more

ABQ Uptown - Albuquerque, NM One of my absolute favorite locations in town. This used to be nothing but land when I was a kid, and now it is such a fun place to shop, eat and hang out. My husband and I have traveled all over this country, and this little area feels so much like what you would see in bigger/trendier cities. It feels pretty safe too, which is not something I can say about a decent amount of the city. The shops are upscale, the food is also upscale. We don't come here too often, but I have always had a pleasant experience when we have ventured out to Uptown. Even the lot across the street feels like an extension of Uptown, so that has been a nice change in the last year or so as well. If you're looking for a fun place to walk around, shop, hang out and eat, ABQ uptown is for you! read more

Went to ABQ Uptown tonight - been here before, so no surprises. The parking situation is hit-or-miss depending on what time or day you go. Saturday night? Not a great idea. You might strike parking gold on first try, or you might have to walk... not a big deal. The stores have a good selection of pricey stuff - Anthropologie, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Elephant Bar, etc. It makes for a nice walking date night, if window shopping is your thing. I miss a bookstore or intellectual exercise from the location - after Borders Books shuttered, I don't know what is available to make it a "great date" location. (Yes, I'm a geek... bookstores and coffee make a great date night) Bottom Line: worth a stop, stay a while, try not to empty your wallet. read more

Uptown Target--At 2:00 pm Rocky Mountain Time. Nice clear weather. I went to pickup an online order. Even your map shows it on the north side of Indian School NE. It's not on the north side: it's on the South side. OK, it was easy to make a left and enter the garage. There isn't any signage to show where the entrance for stairs, escalators, and elevators are. I just didn't want to park in the garage, so I made a left to find parking elsewhere. I was going the wrong way on a one way road that wasn't marked until I was going outside. I finally parked on the south side of the building, and I followed a sidewalk to the buildings electric power plant. I stepped into the garage and headed north. I thought I saw the entrance. It wasn't, it was the storage building for the shopping carts.. I got off the escalator, and there wasn't any signage. Target wants you to walk around. That's reasonable, but a person might not want around the store, and I wasn't in any mood to buy anything else there. The good thing about Target Uptown is the staff is very nice and friendly. I was able to get immediate service in picking up my order. One has to have a Target ap for drive through pick up. If a person knows where to go, it looks good, and you can find the little sign and a very safe place for you and your car. Aps drain my battery, and I'm glad that I went into the store. I'm not going back. I hope there is a place to post pics, because I took pics that shows Target thinks that Albuquerque is a little town of a few thousand and everybody knows the idiosyncrasies of every store and house in town. I've shopped in LA, San Diego, Honolulu, Japan, Europe, Jacksonville, Houston, Seattle, and Omaha. read more

Although I can't always afford to go shopping here, I enjoy window shopping at many of these stores. I always take my mom here when she is in town. Many of the employees in the stores are sweet and attentive. But I will say, some of the other customers are sometimes snooty. But besides that, it is a fun way to spend the day. read more

Very cool outdoor shopping experience right in the middle of Uptown. They have a number of great shops to choose from everything from the Apple Store to Charming Charlie to North Face. They also have a number of great restaurants including a cool gelato place called Frost I believe, and a really good small sushi place called Sushi freak. Welcome to uptown. Where you step into the uptown universe, and you see all the stores. Then you look at the people around you. You would think you were in beverly hills, but then you realize. You're in New Mexico. If you are at the lower end of the socioeconomic status, are dark skinned of any race, or just not hip enough, be prepared to be looked down upon at all the stores, no matter if you have been to these stores in other locations. I reviewed ABQ Uptown a couple years ago and deleted it... I'm still giving it 3-Stars this time. Can we give some local coffee shop a shot here? I don't know how complicated it is to get a footprint here... but IF I were to have some part in decision making, I'd reduce the rent for a Michael Thomas, Hartford Square kind of business in addition to (or maybe instead of) the green mermaid (I still appreciate they open a store here and offer employment.) A new-ish upscale outdoor concept mall. It has all the things every other mall has: retail and dining, a variety of each. Apple store? Check. Eddie Bauer? Check. Elephant Bar? Check? This place is also the home to one of the better steak houses in the city, Marcello's Chop House. Parking can be kind of a bear. Since it's outdoor style, there's usually cars buzzing about, which can pose something of a hazard if you're not paying attention as a walker, and can be a pain as you watch people milling around if you're a driver. Pay attention, people, no matter which side of the windshield you're on. read more

ABQ Uptown is just a mall turned inside out with more hazards because of the vehicle traffic. Just as in the regular indoor malls, you've got national chains lined up side by side, a few dining options and some sweets and candies here and there, and your jewelry and fancy home stores. I guess there are a few positive aspects to shopping here rather than an indoor mall (if you're going to shop at either rather than a local store which should be your first option): -it's not a teenage hangout, so you won't run into mobs of kids -you're walking around in fresh air, rather than the stagnant germy indoor mall air -you're close to Trader Joe's -you can walk to Trader Joe's -you can conveniently go to Trader Joe's after stopping here for some inane reason Oh, and some of the upscale stores here are pretty nice, such as Eddie Bauer, North Face, MAC, and Jos A. Bank, although the majority are overpriced whenever there's not a major sale going on. Another thing, parking can be a bit of a headache, or maybe it's just navigating the parking lots. read more

For a simple place to venture I'm offering a simple review. It's an outdoor mall with some slightly pricey establishments to shop. Some retail stores that you may find here are... Lucky Brand, Michael Kors, Anthropologie, Williams and Sonoma, and so on. A few eateries of note are the California Pizza Kitchen, Frost, and The Elephant Bar. (Personally not a fan, but some may enjoy their restaurant.) It's reminiscent of most outdoor malls I've been to, but beware of this... **Most of the stores close at 8 o'clock not nine or ten like the website and such may say.**And parking, oh yeah parking, finding a spot can be slightly shenanigans.** So, for a simple place with not so simple stores here's your simple review. Get there early and do what you do, because remember the website will lull you with false information. read more

Weird sign in the parking garage elevator telling me that my non-sponsored 1st amendment activity isn't allowed. I'm not big on turning a private outdoor shopping mall into a venue for constitutional expression, but I enjoy a place that combines a parking garage and some higher end retailers for my shopping pleasure. In a little while when those saplings grow to be big enough for real shade, walking in the August sun from shop to shop won't be so bad. read more

What they did today was to run a diagnostic check, wiped all the info from the device, and to reloaded the software. Up town to me is meh. I'm not really in to the whole scene that is Abq UpTown. I go here for Apple and that's really it. The parking here sucks if you drive a full size truck or suv. I guess if you like following the masses with chain stores this maybe the place for you. Trader Joes is behind up town. That's the best part of the area. Like I said just not my cup of tea so it gets a 3 star. read more

Love the shops that are FINALLY coming to New Mexico!!! I am still impressed that we have Apple Store! Thankfully I managed to find parking today, when I use to work at ABQ Uptown that was always the worst part of going to work... the fight for a parking space!!! I know there is the underground parking garage and I am thankful it exists because parking could be worse!!!
