There are so many wonderful upscale stores here. I love Anthropology, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Lush, Altar'd State, Lucky Brand, and so much more. My Apple Store and Mac Store is here. i was sorry to see that J Crew has closed their doors. I have had to run into the T Mobile store a few times too. There are an abundance of restaurants. Today we did Sahara, for eastern Mediterranean food. There is Bravo, California Pizza Kitchen, and numerous other places to tempt your pallet.

The Q is a little bit more upscale (as reflected in the prices)- Starbucks, Coach, Mac, Toni & Guy, Crepeology, Frost, Charming Charlie's, Lush, Elephant Bar. Sad that the Tollhouse Cookie Factory is no more. Expect to park a little farther away or have trouble finding a parking spot. It's the whole ambiance of the place. Strolling amongst stores, the bright light reflecting from the windows, and the strung lights hanging down against the night sky. (Here's to my 650th review!)

The Holiday Light Parade in Uptown. This is the best light parade I have seen in NM. Every year I have managed to miss this Abq event, and always tell myself that "next year I will go for sure." Well I finally made it and it was worth going to. I was worried about the park and ride. I know sometimes park and rides are a pain, but this one was actually quick, easy, and FREE. Many of the stores were allowing restroom use. There were local shops selling hot coco, and some were open for holiday shopping. There were a lot floats and characters that the kids love seeing like Star Wars, Micky Mouse, The Grinch, and Santa of course. My pictures don't do it justice, but we will be adding this to our list of local events that we don't want to miss. Getting back was a breeze because they had all the buses lined up waiting for us to go back.

It is a newer strip mall in ABQ aptly called ABQ Uptown and my new favorite! Nice place to shop or walk around after dinner. It's newish so it's cleaner and sorta upscale for ABQ. They don't have Tiffanys or Louis Vuitton stores but they do have a couple of my favorite stores like True Religiion and Bebe. Borders is here too! Of course Marcellos Chophouse is here! Yay! Wait- Apple Store is so here! ABQ Uptown is located near two nice hotels and I stayed in one where I just cross the street and I'm there! Anything shiny pulls me in like no other! This mall has very tasteful smattering of lights everywhere and partly the reason why I'm so attracted to it, :)

Who doesn't like ABQ Uptown?? I cannot remember where or how we used to shop before this little gem lit up Louisiana Boulevard. Now, they've already gotten the Christmas tree decorated (well before Thanksgiving) and it's another beautiful display. What a great place for a quick family photo! Even if it's another time of year, you can't help but love this outdoor marvel, shopping a few of the anchors like the Apple Store and Starbucks as you explore all the restaurants and department stores this little outdoor mall has to offer. Complete with an underground parking garage and next door to many other great shops and 2 traditional malls, you'll be able to find nearly anything you want. And all that opportunity means you won't be shopping alone ... especially around the holidays! In fact, an extra exit lane was added to the Louisiana exit off I-40 to accommodate all the shopping traffic this destination brought to the Uptown area. So, go ahead! Plan your shopping day here, and save room for lunch/dinner.

It's such a pretty space, especially in the evening when everything is lit up. We came during one of their food truck nights and had such a great time. They had live music playing at the amphitheater, several food trucks to choose from, and local vendors set up in tents selling their products. We grabbed some elote from one of the food trucks and it was delicious! The whole atmosphere was lively but still relaxed and very family friendly. There were people of all ages hanging out, listening to music, eating, and just enjoying the outdoor space. It honestly feels like Winrock has turned this area into somewhere you actually want to spend an evening rather than just coming to shop. Definitely looking forward to attending more events here!

I was very pleasantly surprised to see that the Winrock is back, growing, and no longer a dangerous place. Now you can find a wide variety of restaurants for any taste, some good entertainment, and so many shops, including Dillard's which is the tenant who has been there the longest. If you cannot find it at Winrock Town Center, you probably don't need it. I found everything I needed there, and more! You will find great service and value as well as a large selection of most anything you need. CONGRATULATIONS to the management, administration, and visionary leaders who brought this mall back to life. It is still growing and adding new stores regularly, which is so promising in this economy. What pandemic? Winrock is back baby!

This review is for a specific free event held at the Cottonwood Mall:…read moreTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 40th Anniversary Sunday, August 6, 2024 3 pm - 6 pm Mall foyer, lower level The purpose of the event was to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT). Per the event description, consumers were promised: the turtle Michaelangelo and Turtles would be present for a meet and greet, photo op, interactive games, and a special ninja performance. In reality, consumers got one turtle on a 11x14 stage with a simple backdrop of balloons. No music, no performance, no interactive games or activities and no other turtles. My family and I showed up at 2:50 pm, and were told by the event organizers that the event would begin at 3:30 pm. Well, there was already a long line of folks waiting in line hoping to get their photo op with the greatest TMNT. The line began at the lower level foyer (near escalators and elevators) and continued through the mall to the Mor Furniture Store. I estimated over 1200 people attended this event. I only identified three security guards, mind you, were inexperienced with handling a large crowd and could not maintain crowd control. At 3:30 pm, an imposter Donatello shows up and everyone cheers loudly and excitedly thinking the show was finally going to get started. Donatello began taking photos at the floor level with anyone and everyone that approached him. The families at the beginning of the line were confused, mad, and wondering why other people were getting priority when they had waited in line for at least 1.5 hours before showtime. A few minutes later, it became clear the show hadn't started, and rather, it was just another person wearing a Donatello suit and wanted to compart the joy and smiles throughout the mall with TMNT fans. At 3:50 pm, Michaelangelo finally jumps on stage. People swarm to the front of the stage for their photo op. At the same time, those in line were finally freed from their chains and let one family at a time to take their photo. Mind you, there was still no music. No other turtles, no other activities happening. Just a lonely Michaelangelo that appeared to have drank 30 Red Bulls taking photos with families one by one. My family and I got our photo from the front of stage, and left the area to go shopping with the intent of returning to the event in the hopes more of the promised activities and turtles would show. At 4:15 pm, we return but still there is nothing. Just more people moving through the sloth-like line waiting patiently to get their photo. I felt it necessary to express my extreme disappointment and the failure of the event on the Facebook event page, hosted by Cottonwood Mall in the hopes that the management and/or event coordinator's would take my feedback as a learned experience. Shortly after I posted my feedback, others followed suit. There were over 130 "reactions" on my post, and over 100 comments on my post. Everyone saying the same thing: poorly planned event; do better; my children left crying because the event ended 10 minutes early and they missed their photo opportunity with their favorite turtle; people reported waiting in line for over three hours! To say this event was a failure and complete disappointment is an understatement. However, listen to this - Whomever is responsible for Cottonwood Mall's social media account went to the event page and ERASED ALL the complaints and kept the positive comments!!! So, I am doing my due diligence and posting publicly on platforms that cannot be erased because the event planners and management of Cottonwood Mall need to be held accountable. I'll say it again as I did in my initial post: "Do better Cottonwood Mall!"

But finally, I stopped by Cottonwood Mall because I had an appointment to attend and was too lazy to drive back home. So, I figured I would just kill some time at a mall instead. The mall itself was ok. Frankly, it reminded me of how much time and habits of people had changed over the years. The mall didn't have too many people..it was more like a gathering of groups of people just so they could interact/hang out together...rather than a place to go buy/get something (e.g. shopping mall). I felt like more than half the shops inside the mall were either empty/closed or had no foot traffic. Most people seemed to congregate around food court, which had smaller ticket prices and people could sit/interact. I ended up sitting around the food court, and doing my things, too. Got my paleta from Paleta Bar....but beyond that..there wasn't really much to do. I accomplished my tasks of spending about a little over an hour there at a mall before my appointment...but...I wouldn't really think of going back there again to get something. I mean...to me...online shopping is king..save me all the time/hassle of driving..and I can pick/choose anything I want...get real/honest feedback/reviews from other people before making my purchases. What more not to like about online.
