Nordstrom Rack is the closest thing Albuquerque has to a true exposure to quality retail shopping. This store is kept well maintained with clean doors and windows for a good first impression. The clothing racks are clean and organized as are the merchandise shelves. The selection of products spans a broad spectrum from casual and playful, to formal and upscale. Last September we were faced with an unexpected death of a young niece. I was faced with many challenges to overcome in a short span of time. I immediately went to my walk in closet looking for an appropriate suits and other dress clothing to wear during four days of greeting friends, neighbors and relatives who would be arriving from locations within Arizona, many other States and Countries. There would be Mortuary visitation, a Rosary, Funeral Mass, a Post Mass Luncheon, Private Family Internment at the Cemetery in 125 degree weather. I had lost over 100 lbs since moving to Albuquerque 4 Years earlier. Time to head to Nordstrom Rack with quit a long shopping list. I needed two suits, two sport coats, two pair of dress slacks, four pair of dress socks, two pair of shoes and two belts. I knew that I would be able to find everything with one stop shopping at a very wallet friendly budget. Two hours later we were back home with a heavy weight lifted off my shoulders. A very personable and attentive young lady approached me as I entered the Men's clothing department. She cheerfully offered, "Please allow me to set up one of our larger Men's dressing rooms for you. I will I'll also bring you a rolling rack to hang all of your clothing selections on so you can take everything with you in one trip. My name is Cheryl, should you need anything else don't hesitate to ask. If you don't readily see me please ask another associate to page me and I will be with you within two minutes." Upon arriving at the dressing there was a small table with bottled cold water, crackers and cheese and napkins. Within two days the store manager received a hand written letter stating what an example of true customer service had taken place in Nordstrom Rack from a Team Member who was a true Shining Star. read more

I've had very experiences, but I will say my most recent visit I found some absolute gems at really good prices. They must be stocked up for the holidays, but they've got a lot going on, including some really good sale deals. The store seems to be kept very organized and clean compared to some of the comparables. read more

You tend to need time to comb through items to find what you really want here. Don't have a lot of time to go rack to rack either. Still on the hunt for jeans. I would say that this place is a hit or miss. Sometimes they have good items and u inquest items and sometimes the selection is poorly: I definitely love their jackets through year long. They have limited blouses for women. They tend to carry a lot of sizes for smaller individuals and same with shoe sizes. I definitely would recommend this place once in a while. Customer service is lacking most of the times I visit. Otherwise a clean and well organized store. read more

We love the Rack and this was my first time shopping at this location. It's a smaller location than some you'll find in Seattle or Texas but there are great deals if you are willing to hunt for them! I was even able to find a pair of limited edition Ugg boots for 50% off! (Uggs are my addiction!) I found a lot of fantastic options and even had trouble narrowing them down! They also had clean restrooms and friendly dressing room attendants. I'm already excited for my next trip back to do some more fantastic shopping! Now I've totally got the urge! I had a lovely time browsing the racks here while passing through town ! The sales associates were great especially the gal who rang me up; her name is DeeAnna and she was so sweet and helpful and offered me a bag to carry my things which was really kind . We had a really nice laugh at the register and that little interaction I had with a quality hard working stranger made my experience one not soon forgotten ! I've shopped at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack all over the US in the past few years and I'm always particularly impressed with the affordable treasures I find when strolling through the Rack. This location started out on the right path but unfortunately it seems as if they stopped receiving a good selection of clothing and shoes. I was able to go in, find something awesome fairly quickly and leave happy. Nowadays it takes the shoes about 4-6 months to start seeing a turnover of new stuff and the clothing, as far as the men's side, is down to bare minimum. Loads of plain Public Opinion tees and the same old Lucky Brand pants; nothing too interesting. Seems as if the sale rack hasn't moved in ages. What gives, Nordstrom Rack? I used to be a very frequent shopper, maybe once a week. These days I'm hitting the store quarterly in hopes of digging for something that came in for new season. Pretty bummed. read more

I visited this neatly organized and empty store today and thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience. I was asked a handful of times if I needed help, but didn't feel like it was overbearing. I could easily find my sizes and the check out line, when it grew to be about 10 customers long, quickly went by. Just a negative one-star because, well because i'm from California, the buyers for this Nordstrom Rack has, what I believe, a strong ABQ style sense, which I haven't gotten accustomed to. I looove me some high quality items at a discounted price. I feel like every time I've been in here I've bought something. Some items are definitely out of my price range, but they have lots of little cute things on clearance for cheap people like myself. I especially love shopping in the accessories, bra/swimsuit, shoe, and home sections. The staff at this store are SO nice and helpful and they keep the store very clean and organized. It seems that a lot of the low rated reviews reflect that this particular Nordstrom Rack does not compare to the ones in other cities. I totally agree with that, but it's still one of the better discount retail stores in Albuquerque. I LOVE the rack! You never know what you're going to find. It's fun to browse the racks and see what is a great deal. I'm partial to the close out deals with the red tags. These are the best deals and you can find amazing prices on last years purses, shoes, and home items. They have a great children's section that's awesome for baby shoes gifts. Unique stuff that's totally different from the usual big box stores, but at nearly the same price. I also really love the home goods for gifts. Amazing candles, luxury bath products, and name brand decor. I love to give a little Kate spade plate with some macaroons or a cupcake. A really nice hostess gift. The clothes are hit or miss when it comes to styles. It's all last years stuff. I enjoy getting classics here and good quality name brand lives like slacks. I'm not big in the trendy stuff that goes out quick so I can't speak to style. Weekends and around holidays can be crowded and they have limited sales help. So he prepared to wait in line. read more

I'm not sure why people are so hard on this location. I've been to Racks in Seattle, Florida, Chicago, and Boulder. So far nothing tops Chicago, I think because of the demographic. You'll find more designer quality stuff there, because there is a greater demand, plus more people willing to spend on the higher end. Sorry to say but if you live in a 'laid back' kinda place where people don't care about high fashion I don't think you can expect couture-esque it truly designer clothing. I've only been to this store once and perhaps ABQ peeps might feel better to know this one tops the Colorado locations I've been to! I currently live in Mississippi where there is no Nordstrom Rack (boo). Anytime I'm traveling out of state I take advantage of visiting a Nordstrom rack. I'm originally from the west coast so I've been to numerous Nordstrom Rack locations. This location was rather disappointing. I agree with other reviews. I have never bought something at Nordstrom Rack and it be cheaply made or poor quality. Nearly everything at the Rack is sourced from Nordstrom retailers across the country. When it makes it to this store, it is deeply discounted without compromising the style or finish. Usually 40-60% off, at least. One dollar in Albuquerque values no less than a dollar in Washington D.C. or San Francisco, yet this store seems to get the bottom of the pile of clothings and shoes that they couldn't get rid of elsewhere from yesteryear. I've been here twice, reluctantly bought a pair of shoes only having to return due to quality issue. Coming to find out the rest 2 pairs on the rack had the same tares when I attempted to just replace the pair I returned. Told the clerk and manager about it and they were cool. The location is conveniently located in the Winrock mall area (..yea, remember those days when Winrock was a mall before it moved to Coronado?) -- close to DSW. Don't get me wrong, I'm super happy about Winrock opening up again -- it's about time! Upon entering, you're greeted w/ happy employees who welcome you. There is a good selection of stuff -- from clothes & shoes to accessories. I know it's only been a few days since their opening, but it felt as if it was a little too crowded to my liking.. let alone, there's still a lot of people going. I'm happy that Albuquerque has finally been able to land a Rack in the city, but pretty disappointed in the selections and brands available. Their shoe selection is on a scale of OK to dismal, and overall the men's section is underwhelming. I remember they used to have some great brands of jeans, but now they're gone. Obviously Nordstrom rack is a godsend in any city but coming from Los Angeles county where I had 4 Nordstrom racks within 20 miles of me, this ONE store in Albuquerque is pretty disappointing. They never seem to get in a new shipment of stuff on a weekly basis, it's more like a monthly basis. The same racks of stuff sit there for weeks and it's not exciting. I'm a size 12 in women's shoes and Nordstrom rack is one of the few places that has my size. Time and again, they've had the same exact shoes sitting on the wall as they did a few months ago. I visited Nordstrom Rack on July 13th driving in from an out-of-town location 2 hours away. I was delighted to hear that I could shop Nordstrom in-store rather than continue my online shopping experience, as I have been a Nordstrom Customer for 25 plus years living in larger cities across America. Online shopping sometimes means many returns until you get it right, however I had delayed and forgotten to return a robe and the store employees at Winrock Nordstrom Rack were exceedingly gracious and helpful in helping me find my account and the item order online to verify the purchase long ago and give me credit. They were patient, professional and supremely courteous. This is why I continue to be a loyal customer. I continued to shop the shoe department and found two pairs of shoes as well as some other awesome buys. I'll look forward to shopping Nordstrom Rack when I come into Albuquerque on a semi monthly basis. I was very dissappointed with the selection when they first opened. However, I figured they may have just needed some time to step it up and decided to wait a few months and give it another shot. Sorry to say this, but it sucked even worse the second time I went. If you have been to other Racks in larger cities, you'll understand. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews here. I love the Rack and if Albuquerque can't support a Nordstrom, at least we get the sister discount store. It's efficient, clean, organized and has a mix of marked down Nordstrom items as well as well known brands curated for the Rack in particular. Often I can find the same thing on their website at the store, so I've noticed the congruency. It is a discount store so I don't think all the comparisons to the neighboring department store are fair. As far as prices, you can find a great variety from low end to a really great discount on some high end designer pieces. There is something for everyone, you just have to spend some time searching. I have shopped Nordstrom Rack all over the US, east coast to west coast and have to say that the store in Albuquerque is a poor example of the Rack. It's as though Albuquerque received the bottom of the barrel in fashion that none of the other stores wanted to accept.
