Their bra fiting "trained, knowledgeable staff" was either untrained or manipulative. She tried to get me into a bra that was three sizes too small in the band but three sizes bigger in the cup, telling me that it would fit. I was so uncomfortable and in pain after trying more than a dozen bras. Then she rudely insisted they did have bras my size, and she intimated it was my fault because I didn't want the plain, ugly, huge, old lady bras. Why try to put a C into a G?! The reality is they only carry pretty bras in small sizes, and they have a negligale assortment of anything in a larger size. I'm 60; I know my bra size. I know I can have properly fitted AND pretty bras. Later that day I went home with EIGHT of them from another store who has a wider range of sizes, colors, and styles, and was NOT demeaning or insulting or blaming the customer for their shortcomings. Dillards lost a customer for life. It was the most humiliating, degrading, and frustrating experience I've ever had shopping. Dillard's replies to negative reviews by asking people to reach out to questions@dillards.com to address their concerns. I did this, as well as filled out the online form, and they have never responded. My family and I have been treated rudely by employees a couple of times, to the point that it was so uncomfortable and frustrating that we left without making a purchase despite shopping for something specific that they carry. We've had good experiences too. However, the negative experiences, combined with Dillard's lack of care and response, have resulted in my family taking our business elsewhere. We have not had these negative experiences at other department stores. read more

I'm Special! I never shop at Dillards because usually no one ever waits on me so I leave. But not today! First, I had the pleasure of meeting Emmy in Traditional Dresses. She was a breath of fresh air. She greeted me as soon as I entered her department and made me feel important! I never go out and had to find something to wear for my son's wedding. She made me feel at ease and helped me find the perfect outfit! Second wonderful person I met was Alex in shoes! Alex provided me with an outstanding customer experience in shoes. Every single time there's an older woman and man associate who never asks if I need assistance. I could be standing next to someone who they ask but turn away and ignore me. I'm going to not recommend the store because of the following. I've been shopping there for about 12 years and recently they started putting up 65 and 50% clearance labels on a lot of their racks. The only problem is that there is no clearance sale, so you pick up a shirt that's $40 at 60% off, take it to the register And there is no sale. When you tell the clerk I got it from this rack they will say no our closing is marked accurately and will not entertain the sale price. You show it to a manager and they will see only those with specific stickers on them, purple, pink, green or whatever or the ones with the clearance. Problem with that is the clearance sign says all marmot, call North face, all athletic wear and so they are intentionally misleading The patron! The same is true in the shoe area and for almost all of their suits, so they are intentionally misleading customers into a register conflict where they understand it's embarrassing for the customer to say anything. So the only solution is to not shop there! read more

I needed to buy new sandals. I was devastated to find that none of the shoe stores I used to buy at are open. So I decided to go to Dillard's. So glad that I did. I walked around and two male employees asked me if I needed assistance. I told them not as of yet, I am looking around. One of the men told me when I was ready to let him know. I believe his name was Antonio. They were extremely busy. I found two pairs, I found him and let him know. He brought out the two pairs, asked if I wanted help. I said no, he excused himself to check on a couple of other customers he had taken shoes to. Neither pair was right, just as I was putting them in the boxes, he asked if any of them worked for me. I told him no, he asked why. I explained it to him. He said, "I have a couple of other pairs you may be interested in?'' After my initial shock, I told him yes! True to his word he brought two more pairs of shoes that I was happy to try on. One was a perfect fit, the right color and what I was looking for. So nice to have had such great customer service. I stopped going to the TJMaxx's - when i'm looking for a sale item I come here first and browse the sale racks and most often find a great deal. Recently I ordered online at dillards.com ( a great website ), some shirts that were on sale, and were a "final sale", non returnable items. They arrived but sizing was off. Manager here had no issue giving me store credit and helped me find the right size. Friends from LA recently moved here and laughingly said that the Dillards here was trying to be the Nordstrom of Albuq. Now they swear by this store, saying the same I said above. don't trust Dillards Quality control people at their Corporate offices! I had been wearing a brand they aggressively promoted within their store, called Cremieux. I supported this brand over four years, and each time I bought a new batch of jeans usually six or seven pair at a time. within a 3 to 5 month, they would all tear on the pocket in exactly the same place. Phil Terrel, who was once at the helm of this job was nice enough to send me a replacement for these jeans telling me that the problem have been rectified. After I had worn the new batch for a few months, they failed in the same place once again! The person that replaced Mr. Terrell unfortunately wouldn't back future replacements even after he promised he would. he really managed to jerk me around for months after promising me a satisfactory outcome namely a store credit. I shopped this store years ago when it as really good. Now it's junky and the help is worthless. I recently moved back to town for awhile and decided to check it out. Unbeknownst to me they appeared to be having a shoe sale. I noticed the sign saying 65% off so I pulled out what I thought were some good deals when some woman came along and threw her business cards in my box. Apparently claiming me as "she helped"? As I was trying the shoes on, without her help, I noticed one pair had two left shoes in the box, so I began to look for this so called person who was supposed to be helping me, when I finally tracked her down and told her about my left shoe problem, she told me good luck maybe they will turn up in a few weeks and left to throw more cards at people. I was determined to find it's match, so I went up and down a few aisles, and viola! There was the match! So I wrestled all my deals up to the desk, without help, when a very nice young man came up to me and asked if he could help. Then along comes the "card slinger", no, this is my customer! I tried to make small talk about the sale when she said no! The shoes were not 65% off, ridiculous, we can not make the shoes this price, so I said I don't want all of them, then and she started rolling her eyes. I then decided I don't really need any of them. After that debacle I started to wander around the store and eventually ended up on the third floor. The Twilight Zone. The roof looked as if it had a terrible leak, and the repair, buckets every where, yikes! I wonder how long this has been going on? On my way out I wandered through the cosmetics department. In the past you could never get out without someone selling you something, this time, not one person approached me about anything. DILLARDS!! I shopped in San Francisco for 5 years and moved back to ABQ a little disappointed, until I went back to Dillards... This is the closest that you'll get to big city shopping, while still being able to try items on, unlike online. In my opinion, I'd rather shop at Dillard's vs anywhere in Coronado. It's close enough to Uptown and great eateries. As the other malls continue to lose their anchor stores, Dillard's continues to rain over the retail world. The store is always clean and organized, even during their crazy sales. BEST TIP EVER: The last weekend of the month is usually the "Dillard's Sale," where they take an additional 40-60% off of the already discounted clearance items. SCORE!! The most epic sale is the New Years Day Sale, but don't forget to do some scoping out online and in the store a couple days before. Happy Shopping Yelpers!! read more

Went to the New Year's Day sale and was blown away. There were a lot of people waiting in line prior to the 10 am opening. Thankfully, security was watching and caught line-jumpers and sent them to the back. Many thanks to those kind people who had to deal with the long lines and even longer receipts. Tips to make this sale better for the consumer: get there early for parking, bring a friend or two, bring coffee and a snack. Dillard's, only issue was the dressing rooms. I know you are all slammed and working those cash registers as quickly as possible, but having at least one person per dressing room would help in organizing the items not selected. Overall, the New Year's Day sale was great. Huge savings! I got a Ralph Lauren dress for $13....AWESOME! read more

I have always bought my skin care products from Origins. The last two times I have been here to purchase my skincare products the customer service has been horrible. There is no one that really knows the product that can assist you. They do not or cannot find the product I need. The lady that helped me today was just so concerned to make the sale she refused help from other reps. It looks like they have lost any future sales from me since I will be now shopping online or going to Sephora or Ulta Beauty. Finally talked to a manager today at Dillard's. Buy Online-wait two days then pick up MAC cosmetics after being shipped from warehouse. Then travel up two floors to the back of unsigned location for customer service and pick up your package. Not a good experience. Last week went into store, absolutely no customers. A few service reps spoke. None ask to assist. This is not about the ABQ Dillards, but about DIllards the corporation. The Santa Fe location is not on Yelp. I shop there often. Applied for a credit card, which goes through Wells Fargo. They got my address wrong (We talked on the phone and corrected it, at which time I made a total payment of my balance (300 some bucks.) The bills they had been sending me had been getting sent back. They told me that. Next thing, Wells Fargo closes my account for not paying "for a long time." I said "You DO get that you did not send me a bill because somebody got my address wrong?" Yes, they got that, and they were closing my account. That kind of inflexibility in the face of an obvious Eff Up and injustice is emblematic of what is wrong in the universe. No kidding. I didn't know I could find any non-hooker looking shoes in ABQ until I came to this place. True, the hooker platforms are still there but so is everything else you've ever imagined. I was told by a salesman that this is the biggest shoe store in NM, and I believe him. The shoes kept going and going and going... Bonus: parking is super easy since it's in a dead mall. No fighting over parking spots. Don't park at the first Dillard's you see from Louisiana. That's the men's department. Drive behind/to the left to find, in a separate building, the women's shoes mecca of NM. Come here for the women's shoe department and you won't be disappointed. Tried to get a bra at their lingerie department, and the saleslady acted like she was imposed upon and impatient. Never brought me a bra on sale, or anything I was wild about, ... I left after returning the bra I'd bought the day before which chafed. I don't expect anyone to treat me like royalty or anything, and I am very understanding if a salesperson askes me to excuse their delays, because of a rush of customers. The manager asked me why I hadn't found a bra, and I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but since she asked, I told her. She replied that the saleslady was the only one there that day. Why the manager couldn't have stepped in and helped, I'm not sure. But I ditched Dillards and found a great deal over at Nordstrom Rack, for a fraction of the price and with friendly service. While I haven't stepped into a Dillard's in over 20 years, we had to get some dressy clothes. Prices seemed higher than our normal go-to of Macy's, and the store needed to be updated...or cleaned...or something. But the sales people were all friendly, and we ended up getting what we needed pretty quickly. Good selection of shoes and clothing. But the men's is in 1 store, and across the parking lot is the woman's. Weird that everything is not in 1 store. read more

I ordered a car seat from Dillards online and needed to return it. I contacted customer service and was unable to get much help. In fact their info was incorrect. They wanted me to deal w manufacturer. The manufacturer referred me back to Dillards. I was stuck w this item per your customer service. I was able to get the info for the store that the product was shipped from. Im in DC so this traveled a bit of a distance. I was met w the manager, a very polite and kind gentleman from Albuquerque, who went right to work to help fix my issue. He tried locating another item for me and when unable to was again helpful getting the product back to him for return. He was so extremely accessible, understanding and just GREAT! Customer service is an art and skill that isnt always easy to find but he has it mastered. I was so worried I would be unable to get this problem fixed and was lucky enough to have had him at the other end of my phone call. You have a really great employee at your Albuquerque store and if was local would absolutely go and support his location. Im apprehensive to order from Dillards again but cant say enough about how wonderful he was. Thanks! read more

I guess this would be Albuquerque's most Upscale department store. Love that they do have brands you cannot get in other malls and before coming here thought that i could not get in abq. Hobo purses, chanel makeup, expensive brands of clothes I do not buy but nice to know they are there, etc...their shoe department is really big and has a huge variety! The only thing that bugs me is that like a lot of stores you can tell they run on a commission system because i feel like im being stalked shopping people giving me sprays of perfume, keep asking me if i'm doing ok, etc... I am the kind of shopper who doesn't like to be bothered unless I am looking for someone to help me on my own terms.. great store, though, very organized, put together and staff are good just maybe sometimes too helpful. read more

Horrible experience with Dillard's when buying a gift card. Placed order for $250 email gift card for friend's birthday. Order was accepted. Turns out that they will only fulfill order if they can reach at you home by phone. No mention of that on the site and they don't take paypal. They called me twice but I hung up both times because they mistakenly had a foreign language speaking operator call me. Responded to their email and they refused to process the order unless they could reach me at home. Would not accept my cell number. Ended up missing my friend's birthday. Operator was very unfriendly and policy is not stated when ordered. Very poor experience. I will avoid Dillard's at all costs in the future. read more

If you're claustrophobic and hate shopping in crowded places Dillard's on a Tuesday night might be the place for you. I had to return a dress I bought on Friday because it turned out that it would have been too formal for the occasion. (My mom could have told me to "dress like you're going to church" before I bought the dress. I don't go to church but I get the idea.) I found the salesperson for the dress department chatting with a co-worker in another department. I give her the dress and we walk to the register. She looks at the receipt and says, "Oh good, it's not mine. We get dinged on returns even though we shouldn't." Then proceeds to tell me how tired she is and how she can't wait to go home. Great. Nice talking to you. So I was just going to leave and find something at home to wear but I spotted this super cute dress hanging on the wall and like all women do I levitated towards the cute dress. Seriously, we float just a little bit. You didn't know? I quickly realized that it really wouldn't look good on me but I floated to other cuteness in the same area. I was heading for the door but on that last rack I saw a cute shirt and in the same moment the salesperson (who was previously just staring off into space) asked if I was "finding everything okay". Seemed serendipitous so I decided to try it on. On the way to the dressing room I decided to grab a dress that I was eyeing earlier. The shirt made me look like a pregnant pirate (I'm not pregnant and I'm rarely a pirate). The dress actually fit and looked good! The salesperson was super excited that I was buying the dress, it might have been the first thing she sold all day. I quickly found jewelry to go with the dress, which is another huge plus. Shopping for clothes can be a humiliating, diet-inducing experience and when it's not that I gotta admit I get a smidge euphoric. They have an extremely robust shoe department. If you want boots and you're not as picky as I am I recommend going there. read more
