I was looking for a specific bedroom set from New Classic Furniture. Not only was Furniture 42 able to order the exact collection I wanted, they beat the price I had already negotiated elsewhere. What really earned this review, though, was the people. From the moment I walked into the store, it was obvious that owner Jackie Robinson Jr. has built more than a furniture business. He's built a team that genuinely cares about customers and takes pride in doing things the right way. Every interaction felt authentic. There was no pressure, no games, just honest people who wanted to help. I had the opportunity to work with Angelo and Thomas as well, and they left just as much of an impression as Jackie. They were respectful, hardworking, communicated well, worked together seamlessly, and took genuine pride in what they were doing. As a customer, it was easy to see they had been trusted, mentored, and given an opportunity to grow. One moment really stood out to me. After my furniture arrived, Jackie called to let me know everything was ready. During that conversation, he asked if I already had a foundation for the bed because he wanted to make sure I had everything I needed before delivery. As it turns out, I did need one. He had them in stock, added two Twin XL foundations to my order, and delivered them with the rest of the furniture that same day. The previous retailer never even mentioned that I would need a foundation. Jackie anticipated a need I didn't even know I had and solved the problem before it became one. That's customer service. Everything arrived together, was assembled professionally, and was exactly what I ordered. Furniture can be purchased almost anywhere. Character, integrity, and genuine customer care are much harder to find. If you're shopping for furniture in Albuquerque, I highly recommend giving Furniture 42 a chance to earn your business. They certainly earned mine.

The store has a pretty wide selection of better-quality furniture at reasonable prices. They don't have any schlocky merchandise here, but you might be surprised at some of the values you'll find. Definitely worth checking TEMA for items you need before making a purchase at a store that features lower quality items at lower prices - again, you might be surprised that you can find a solid item from a quality brand at similar pricing at TEMA. (That's generally been our experience.) Robert took all the time we needed over our visits, making us feel like we were in the company of a friendly and caring relative who happened to be a brilliant interior designer. David in the back office was happy to answer questions and to make sure everything went smoothly with what is a pretty substantial purchase that we hope will last us the rest of our lives. The result is that we are about to have (not everything is delivered yet) a room that looks better than we ever thought possible - thanks, gents! Note that TEMA is getting out of the outdoor furniture business, so they have some pretty amazing deals over in that section right now. I've resisted so far (we just dropped a chunk of change), but . . . some of those prices are kind of impossible to beat.

It is now September and we have heard nothing... no status updates. I called a week ago and spoke to a "manager", Samantha, who told us she would look into our order and call with an update by the end of the week. We never received a call. Today, Saturday, I called and was transferred to David who "is in charge today". David informed me that Palliser informed them THIS morning, Saturday, that it is unlikely that they "would ever see the sofa". It is implausible that Tema found out this morning as clearly Samantha knew this last week but didn't want to have that conversation. The situation with Palliser is well known as it is in the news, online and apparently other furniture stores in ABQ. knew about this. Frankly, I am totally shocked that Tema, who we thought was a reputable company has acted in this way. They've held onto a considerable sum of my funds without having the decency to contact me directly. When the chair and ottoman were canceled, I found excellent customer service at Arizona Leather. Tema has lost a customer. There is no excuse for this low level of service combined with a clear lie.

It was made of reclaimed floorboards and is the perfect piece for our style. We can't wait to go back for more pieces. The staff was knowledgeable and really friendly. They waxed our piece before we left and shrinkwrapped it for the trip home to prevent scratches. The prices in the shop are great. Our coffee table was $250.

It's not a big place, so they've got tables stacked three or four high, which made it a little difficult to examine some pieces in detail. The staff was friendly and helpful, and helped get my purchase into my car. I am taking one star off as they do not offer delivery services, which would make it difficult for me to consider larger purchases. There was a sign by the register that said they could help you find a mover, though. Things here have that "rustic" or "shabby chic" look, which means there are chips or dents in some pieces, and rough edges or uneven paint coverage in others, though they're still solid and of good quality. Prices are pretty reasonable. I brought home an Indian coffee table with beautiful carvings along the edge, and rounded, carved legs for $200.

The items are consigned, or purchased by owner-manager Carol, and they are all in amazing, often like-new condition, but with much lower pricing than traditional retail.
