The crew working on shift on Sunday, October 2nd are awesome! I have done a ton of antiquing and in most shops the workers stare at you and are super jumpy. Not the case with this crew - they were super helpful without hovering. The prices are way more reasonable than my last visit a few years ago. Everything is organized and clean. I visited this antique store with my wife, and elderly parents. My wife needed to use the restroom. The staff informed us that the building owner doesn't provide restrooms for anyone--not even their own employees. That alone is ridiculous, but when I said she was full of crap they kicked me out and refused to help my elderly parents. If you're looking for a store that values basic human decency, this isn't it. Plenty of other antique shops down central with better service and, apparently, better plumbing. read more

We just recently bought a $330.00 coffee table from Classic Century Square in Albuquerque. Store staff were kind enough to bring it out and help load it into our trailer. When they brought it out, however, it was evident that the pedestal was broken and the legs were about to fall off. They were being held on with a few metal straps screwed into the legs. We weren't aware of the problem at the time of purchase and no one informed us that the pedestal was broken. There were no signs anywhere in the store indicating all purchases are final. We informed the sales clerk at the front desk and she said there was nothing she or the store would do about it. She said it was our responsibility to pick up the table, turn it over, and completely check it out before we bought it. However, there were no signs anywhere in the store stating that and no one in the store informed us of that policy. We assumed the table was in good shape and that Classic Century Square wouldn't be selling us a broken piece of furniture. When we tried discussing this with the clerk at the front desk, she became extremely rude and threatened to call the police and charge us with trespass! She wouldn't even let us tell her exactly what happened or express our concerns. She continued yelling at us to leave the store and threatening to charge us with trespass, so we left. We've been long-time customers at Classic Century Square but we'll never buy anything there again. We'll also be filing a suit in small-claims court. We're sick and tired of being scammed by business owners! You'd be far better off staying away from this store. Their store policies, etiquette, and customer service are nothing like they used to be under previous ownership, There are other stores close by that treat their customers well and don't try to rip them off!! read more

My mother saw a couple of boot glasses that you drink out of and thought of me. She went back to get them because according to the sign on the booth, they were on a sale. When she brought them up to the front, the rude cashiers gave her a hard time, saying that the booth owner wasn't having a sale and insinuated that she had swapped the price tags. All over $3 boots. Do you guys know that you can get these glasses at the goodwill for $1? Congratulations to the girls at the front desk, you guys lost a sale for one of your sellers! read more

I found a chair here and came back today at 4:40pm to purchase it. The woman inside stopped me and two other people at the door and told us she is closed . I pointed to the sign and said i have 20 minutes and I was returning to buy a chair I already saw. She said "come back tomorrow". I drove 30 minutes to pick up this chair and online it says they close at 545pm. If this person is the owner then that's her loss but if this is an employee I would not hire this person to run my shop. The other couple and I crossed the street and went into two other antique shops with no problem. I will not be retuning to classic century and can no longer recommend them. it's Bad business to close early when people are trying to come inside to spend money. change the hours if you don't want to stay until 5pm and change them on your online listing also.This is simply unprofessional . read more

First off let me start by saying I do love antique/consignment stores. But let me also tell you something else. What I cannot stand is someone who works in a customer service job to lack such customer service it's unbelievable. If you do not like dealing with people do not work there!!! There is this certain worker by the name of Nora who works as a cashier and is absolutely so rude and disrespectful it's unacceptable to be treating people that way. I've been in on numerous accounts and I understand people wanting to go home but closing a little after 4 when the store don't close until 5 not even announcing a closure just turning lights off on people. Not only just people but me who's a paying customer. Not to mention there has been times where I have showed up a little after 4pm and the door is already locked with her yelling "we're closed" completely unacceptable. Not only that the way she talks to people is absolutely disgusting and degrading. I was holding off on writing this but it just gets to the point when is enough enough. I really wish upper management would do something about this. read more

I went in for a specific item it was priced at $80 so went to the front to ask if they would take $50 or $60 for it because it did not say "firm" and the lady instantly said no to the girl helping me who was about to call the seller and ask, that's not how that works you have to call the seller first, worst customer service I've experienced here. 04/21/2024 around 4:15 or so. It feels like an indoor flea market kind of. Awesome antique furniture but less consistent for items. Some stuff is really overpriced but you can find really good deals. This is also an amazing place to go for white elephant gifts or weird presents! read more

I have come into this store quite a few times before.. I have purchased vintage dresses, dress patterns and a silver ring. I have easily spent $200 there in the last year on these things. Today I walk in and am right away told to leave that I am kicked out by the woman working at the front. I don't necessarily recognize her but the people I usually see in there are really nice. I was shocked I honestly thought she was joking. I realize she has to be mistaking me for some other person and yet all she can come up with to tell me is "please leave we've kicked you out" to trying to tell her that I have never been kicked out or done anything to be kicked out of their store. Instead of her even taking the moment to recognize she might be making a mistake she stubbornly repeats the same line. I can't think of anything more infuriating then being wrongly accused of something and then not even given the respect to SAY THE TRUTH at a place I've shopped at before!! I'm not a thief and maybe she will recognize her mistake when whoever she is thinking of walks in and she sees its not even me. She doesn't have pictures, a name, anyone else working there as evidence against me. I feel embarrassed and infuriated. I liked this place but I'll never be coming back and I'll be letting one of the more capable people who works here know what happened. In addition, if you don't mind embarrassing one of your customers in front of your whole store like that then it would be nice to have it straightened out. You should have as much respect for the people who shop there as you have disrespect for whoever it is that's been stealing from you. When I was even trying to explain that she had made a mistake she cut me off and dismissed everything I tried to say without even realizing she was accusing the wrong person! read more

Staff here is super friendly but as antique stores go I'd also rate this one last it probably has maybe 2 areas that have some neat collector stuff but other then that if agree with the others this place has a lot garage sale type stuff at this location and furniture this building has a lot of potential but not as unique findings as some of the other antique stores across the street. read more

My feelings are mixed here. They have some really great stuff, but some of it is grossly overpriced. To be fair, that is to be expected with any shop that is of the antique mall format, in which numerous people each have their own wares in a booth. I also imagine that it is largely dependent on what exactly you are looking for, and your own personal tastes. Personally, I love things like junk paintings and old books. This place has no shortage of either. But in nearly all cases, the things I really like are priced well above their value. This is always a sticking point for me with thrift/vintage/antique stores, flea markets and the like. You get these people who think that they are experts on everything, and then price things out according to what they THINK they know, which rarely ever meets the desires or spending habits of the local market. Sometimes this works in my favor, and I will find something amazing that is gloriously underpriced. Typically it is the opposite scenario though. Classic Century Square is worth a visit, even if you don't plan to buy anything though. They have loads of kitschy stuff from ugly (in a good way) hanging light fixtures to fabric to magazines to furniture. Please note that the best stuff seems to be up on the third floor, which is apparently occupied by just one vendor. That person is rarely there though, and they won't even let you browse up there when they aren't. I have been in the store maybe between 5 - 10 times, and only on one of those was I allowed to go up there. read more

The building is very cool just by itself. The stock, like any antique/thrift/booth/consignment store changes constantly and each booth can vary from awesome to garbage scam. You can walk to a half dozen or so other antique malls or thrift stores in just a few minutes along or near Central between Carlisle and San Mateo, a tiny antique district east of Nob Hill. It just used to be a lot cooler. It was jam-packed, every floor, constantly shifting and bustling. Now it's kinda thin, empty, quiet. It used to be the main stop on the thrift crawl, but at this point some of the others nearby have funner or more fairly priced stuff. read more

UPDATE: I reviewed this as a VENUE, as a musician; here's my post-venue review. EXCELLENT place to play; DeDe understands what musicians need; they booked us an hour apart so there would be time to load out previous act/load in; ELEVATOR load-in and had help from Tory loading in +whatever else you might need help with. Nice crowd; the place was full from top to bottom with vendors and there are chairs & tables in front of the stage. Your music can be heard throughout - stage is on 3d floor and building is open top to bottom. Plenty of outlets, movable velour backdrop, stage large enough and nice, good lighting, encouraged to set up CD sales if you want. No PA yet but they said they are working on it. They run a tight ship and keep acts on track. Easy parking in back (the lot is BIG) and large door +freight elevator load-in. If you have read this far, you'll find out that Tory does a backflip a day! read more

Huge selection, sometimes overpriced. But if you're willing to hunt, you can definitely get a deal. I found the furniture to be too pricey for what I was looking for (no end tables under $100, really?) but I scored a great popcorn popper for $4 and picture frame for $2. If you're willing to take the time to comb around, there's some great stuff. Helpful tip -- there's a nice big parking lot behind the store with its own entrance. read more

ok HOW does this place not have better/more reviews?! yes thrift shops always have overpriced items but thats the fun of shopping these kinds of stores is finding the bargain; if its too much for the wallet then move on and find something else! ive gotten plenty of amazing adn unique items here all for very cheap - alot of the times some booths will be having sales so you get an extra discount - just stop at the front and ask the staff what discounts are going on, theyre always super nice! ive gotten jewelry, books, random nick nacks like board games and even a really nice wooden letter drawer. take some time to explore and be amazed at what youll find! read more

i truly loved visiting classic. they had a variety of stuff through out the store. from lamp pieces to leather couches. they remodeled the second floor into a consignment area. so its easy to find furniture. third floor i heard is also being remodeled at the moment. first floor has the rare pink rose fiesta to vintage costume jewelry. i KNOW this place has discounts in almost every booth. so go in say hi to the nice cashiers and enjoy the free popcorn. read more
