She graciously offered me some hot cider and was just lovely to chat with alongside her husband Cliff. Their passion for what they do shines through in the way they greet and treat everyone . I love this store! Moved to ABQ early 2020 and so much was closed. Got out to eat and saw this great shop. In what I call a shotgun house ie long and narrow, the architecture is as amazing as the contents. I like the casual feel. I am a thrifter to the core but appreciate the lovely works here. Definitely a wide range of items and prices. From random skulls to vintage jewelry and Pueblo pottery finds,it's awesome. I love that they say they "recycle history". If you've never been to Old Town Albuquerque, I'll give you a quick description: A shaded, Spanish-styled central square, surrounded by historic buildings, including an adobe church; Many building are filled with shops and restaurants. Most of the shops are touristy; Think "gift shop". My dad calls these "the rubber tomahawk stores"; And sadly they comprise about 80% of what you will find here. (And you will find 80% of the people in them too) Then there is the other 20%; like Old Town Antiques No rubber tomahawks here (or dreamcatchers, God forbid). Just the real deal: either colonial Spanish antiques, native Indian crafts or early American antiques. Any turquoise jewelry here is the real stuff, not the hardened resin so prevalent in the other shops (yet still sold as "turquoise jewelry"). Indian rugs aren't copies churned out by a machine. And a hand forged tool from 1872 is just what it says it is. And yes, these things may be a hundred years old, or more; And yes, they are often beautiful, interesting, unique, and always one-of-a-kind. And so you pay more than you would for a rug or bracelet or clay pot pulled from a shelf full of identical copies. But isn't that the point? read more

Vintage Jewelry Great Prices; Fun & Fascinating Collectibles; Something for Everyone. Shopping at this little antique shop was one of the best decisions we made upon entering Old Town. Its right off main street across from a retro parking lot that uses pigeon hole boxes to collect parking fees. I found my iconic New Mexico piece of jewelry at a great price. I bought a few other sterling pieces that were priced to sell. Our time studying the various collectibles was even better thanks to the attention of the owner/operator. Friendly & attentive but not intrusive - she recommended a couple of places to see while we were in Albuquerque - notably the Acoma Sky Pueblo. We did & were so, so glad! While I bought jewelry in a couple of other places - Santa Fe / Taos - none of those pieces compared to the first ones I found right here. read more

What a lovely antique store. Old Town is filled with touristy gift stores, but this is the only legitimate store we went in. This is not the place to find Albuquerque shot glasses or chili pepper magnets. This is a true, well-curated antique store with a special New Mexico flavor. She has vintage baskets and pottery, Indian-made silver goods, framed art and prints, vintage handmade jewelry, etc. There are some reasonably priced items and also some collector-type items that are aimed at higher end shoppers. I walked out with two hand-painted botanical prints from a 1861 book ($18 each) and another vintage map print ($36), all with mats included. They were a beautiful and unique find. The woman in the shop (the owner?) was very friendly and knowledgeable, willing to chat with us about the antiques and and their history. She had cookies set around and she allowed us to bring out dog inside. Note: Credit cards accepted. read more

About 40 years ago I purchased a pair of Native American earrings. Unfortunately I lost one and was looking to buy a new pair. After being overwhelmed while looking at Native American jewelry at various shops, we decided to take a look at Old Town Antiques for a vintage set. This was the best experience we had while shopping for jewelry. While I didn't find my earrings, I found a fabulous bola and learned a great deal about Native American jewelry and turquoise. Connie, the owner, patiently shares her knowledge and has a display about the various types of turquoise. A friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It is okay to look with no pressure to buy. Old Town Antiques is a terrific shop with a variety of items, nicely displayed and well priced. We will definitely return. read more

It is not one of your huge malls where the staff knows nothing about the merchandise or one becomes fatigued from the sheer volume. It is just the right size to keep your interest. Connie, the owner, is usually there and is very knowledgable. She is a people person and loves to educate about the jewelry, pottery or whatever and tell the story behind the item. The shop has a wide variety of general antiques, exquisite Native American jewelry and artifacts, Mexican pottery, folk art, furniture, Victoriana and Americana in all price ranges. Connie has a terrific eye for the unusual, the quirky and quality and arranges it well so it can be seen. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, Really, it is one of the gems of Old Town.
