Perfect stop through town for a good family dinner! Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, cool funky decor, reliable familiar fare with a creative twist to most items is exactly what we craved. Fries were tasty and fresh, bacon on my cajun burger was distinguishable and added great flavor to the juicy patty. Side of sauteed veggies was fresh and fun alternative and seasoned perfectly. We found this place advertised on the Springfield dining website and decided to give it a try because we're always looking for new places. We never noticed this place before, probably because of its obscure location that can't be seen from the road. The exterior of the restaurant seems fairly new with a nice outdoor patio area. The interior is open, with tall ceilings and the walls are covered with posters from beer breweries and bar events. Looking over the menu, there was a great selection of beers, with several local beers, along with unique beers we've never heard of, including the "Dirty Bastard," which we weren't quite brave enough to try yet. We started off by ordering the Bavarian pretzels with Pale Ale cheese. These were fantastic. The cheese was so good and had a wonderful beer-enriched flavor, but the beer flavor wasn't overpowering. The pretzels were also great, but the cheese was the real showstopper. He had the bangers and mash with a Mother's Chocolate Thunder to drink. The bangers and mash were amazing. The mashed potatoes had a wonderful gravy that meshed with the Texas smoked sausage and created a unique and flavorful dish. The beer was rich and chocolatey with a smooth finish and went well with the bangers and mash. She had the bacon cheeseburger with fries with a strawberry margarita to drink. The burger was juicy and had a soft texture with a great flavor that was part seasoning and part fresh meat and seasoned griddle flavor. The bun was perfectly toasted to make a great burger even better. This is one of the best burgers in town. The fries were freshly cut potatoes and were cooked perfectly with the right amount of salt. She dipped them in the beer cheese, which made them even better. The strawberry margarita was ok, although it didn't have much alcohol and was a bit heavy on the lime, with only a slight strawberry flavor. Love Galloway Station. The lunch specials are really great and the fries are not frozen but cooked from fresh. I love the beer ale cheese and would be happy with a plate of that! After moving back to SGF over a year ago, my family searched the town over looking for an amazing burger. We had an amazing burger where we lived near OKC. It was a long search, but we all unanimously agreed that our burgers (Farmhouse, Rajin Cajun and the Bacon and Cheese) were the best burgers we have found in SGF and very close to our burger haven in OKC. This hidden gem is a great Saturday brunch also. The first time I was introduced to this place was to see a couple of guys (Earth Kingdom...Also AMAZING!) and I enjoyed a strong American Honey and Dr. Pepper. I can't complain about this place! I don't care that they moved. It is about the food! We have been several times over the past few months, and taken others with us each time. Everyone walks out full of food and beverages, but also with a little left over jingle in their pocket Appetizers: Hands down, get the pretzels! The beer cheese is the best around! Entrees: The veggie burger on a pretzel bun was something I was leery of at first, but I have gotten it many times as we have gone back The Veggie railroad wrap with the chipotle sauce is amazing, I often have trouble picking between these two options Also good, the veggie mac and cheese! When they ask what side, I strongly suggest the chips! The fries are good, but get cold faster than i want them to. The only dessert I ever purchase was some of their chocolate covered chips, which weren't awful, but not worth the money I paid. I love the atmosphere, the place always has a fun vibe with a friendly staff that will let you sit and listen to the live music. Downside, if you arrive at 7 and a band starts at 10 you either have to get out or pay a cover (depending on the band) which took away from the fun that night as we had to dig for cash. Toward the end of our meal, we placed an order for another round of drinks but instead of bringing the drinks; our waitress brought our check. I come here a couple of times every week so I am becoming a bit like a character on Cheers but I love the place. I am an author who has a penchant for cigar smoking so when the weather is nice I bring my laptop to enjoy both a cigar and a libation while writing. The food is basic bar food but it is done well. Funny, no responses till it was here. Which by the way he believes that your entries are not representative of his restaurant. Methinks they be right on!!! I was called a liar because the raw hamburger was medium-rare. The waitress that insulted me was a manager when she said they were too busy. Might have told me that. She even insulted me to her boss when explaining what had happen by telling him that "his wife did all of the talking". Owner knew there was an issue but did nothing. Did offer another burger "on them" except from others that had the issue, then will just conveniently for get about it when it comes time. So lets sum this up. Bad food- I was there and it made me sick sooooo. Bad service-Her explanation to him led into that. The excuse they had an event going on should have meant the would be even more friendly and speedy. Do not care for their customers-Sending an e-mail defending them and calling the customer a liar is probably not the way many good restaurants would go. Lot of problems for them to fix. I think the owner has only the best of intentions, but he needs to dump his mangers and try a new batch, that will maybe fix his customer service issues. I ordered a hamburger and (40 minutes later), the only thing cooked on it was the outside. The inside was raw. The waitress never checked on us. I take that back. As she walked by she asked if everything was okay but did not wait for us to answer. When I did tell her about the burger she argued with me. I was not happy to spend $8.25 for a burger I could not eat. When I asked to see a manager, the server told me that they were "too busy". 10 minutes later she slaps the ticket on the table and tells my wife to have a nice day. No need to be polite to the person who leaves the tip. That was okay I forgot to leave a tip. I emailed the complaint to restaurant and no response. They apparently have no consideration for their customers, the quality of their food, or customer service of their customers. If you like great burgers, sandwiches, incredible fries, and a terrific selection of microbrews give this restaurant a try. We tried this restaurant shortly after they moved into their current location and the service was not wonderful. Last year however we decided to give it another try and had wonderful service and that has been our experience ever since. We now are frequent patrons as well as our grown children and their families. We try not to go at times when we know they are having a band which I understand appeals to much of their customer base. Most of the time the noise level is quite manageable for a bar/restaurant which is one of my primary complaints about the other Galloway restaurant in Springfield. Galloway Station is definitely our favorite Springfield destination for great burgers and sandwiches!!! read more

This is one of my favorite evening spots in Springfield. They often have live music, great beer selections, food, service, and prices. I suggest their fries with beer cheese! They're also a great spot to hold private parties. They have a location upstairs in a loft area we used for our company Christmas party. Highly recommend! read more

Just had lunch at Galloway Station. It was the worst lunch I've had since moving to the Springfield area 3 years ago. Ordered the fish & chips special and was served one small piece of fish and a small order of fries. Reminded me of a child's plate. The fish was not the worst I've ever had but close, and half of the fries were soggily inedible. I asked the waitperson why only one piece of fish and his answer was too stupid to repeat on this forum. Add to the wonderful child's plate a $6 dollar beer and the whole thing amounted to a bad experience. I would like to say I'll know better next time but rest assured the absolutely will not be a next time. Also, the table top was dirty and the menu's were sticky. Folks, if you are looking for a good lunch don't expect it from Galloway Station. read more
