What a fun place, the atmosphere is great, people of all ages and everyone seemed to be having a great evening. Our waitress was wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. She made sure we had drinks, always checking in with us, making sure we were having a nice time. On Wednesdays it's Trivia night, starts at 7:30pm. It was a blast, there were prizes given to the winners. We definitely had fun. The food was delicious, honestly I wasn't expecting much from a cheese burger but this has been one of the best burgers I've ever had. The meat wasn't over cooked at all, was juice and had delicious flavors. The bun was great as well, toasty and warm. I had sweet potato fries with my meal and they were also delicious. I believe I'm hooked on their burgers. Can't wait to try more items on the menu. On Monday's they have live Irish music, we are definitely going to check it out soon. read more

Never had a bad meal, actually oversized meals an bottomless sodas and tea. Hamburger flat top grilled, thick, not dry, A BITE FULL plus! Couldn't finish all of the battered fries, over flowing. The tenderloin was so tender, and large. I normally cut this tasty tenderloin in half and take one half home for another meal. The atmosphere can be noisy especially during lunch time. It reminds me of old dark tavern's I would stop in for a beer back in the 60's. Wait staff kept busy. Others may have had slow service, but not during the lunch times we've been coming. I almost avoided this place because of the low rating. That would have been a mistake. The gyros the bartender Caleb recommended were fantastic. The Surpringly creamy feta on them was fantastic. He said the owner went up to St. Louis each month to get this goat feta, but didn't know the name. Hand cut fries were great with their homemade tzatziki, which came with the lamb gyros. First I must say that my review is based on a year of visits. I have become somewhat of a "regular" here and honestly that only happens the establishments consistently meet my top 3 "wants" in a possible place that I become a "regular". 1. Atmosphere - First, any place that has outdoor seating is going to get an initial visit from me. They have an outdoor seating area that expands when the weather is nice but they also can contract it to only the "covered" portion when it's raining. The only thing missing from the outside is music and maybe a tv (the tv isn't necessary but the music is absolutely needed). They do have a TouchTunes jukebox where you can play your own music selections through an app. This is great. When you walk in you will find a "high bar" with a television behind it. they also offer Keno so they have a Keno tv behind the bar as well. This place has an incredibly comfortable, cozy, and inviting atmosphere. It's easy to "pull up, and hang out" They also have darts, and upstairs (if you reserve it for a party) they have a pool table. I would rate Galloway Station as one of the best "local bar and grill" atmosphere's in town. 2. Service - I want to preface this with the realization that the "post-Covid" workforce is very depleted so there are times that Galloway Station, like everyone else, is short-handed. That being said, they have some of the sweetest and most hardworking servers, bartenders, and management in town. I have been in the service industry for more than 30 years and I am very observant when it comes to customer service; Galloway Station has some of the best. At any time throughout your visit, you might see the owner going around and chatting with customers. If there is a problem they are happy to resolve it. If there is a complaint, they are quick to respond in humility and grace. 3. Food - As you can see, I am an atmosphere first, service second and food third when it comes to me looking for a place that I call "my place in my town". but let me tell you they are highly underestimated when it comes to their menu. I am not a "burger guy" but honestly I'm not sure that I've had a better burger in Springfield. Honestly. When it comes to their sides like German-potato salad or apple cole slow, they use a "family recipe' and they are great. My "staple" menu item is the blackened chicken wrap with the coleslaw. My wife gets the Gyro (it's perfectly made and very tasty). So over the past year, Galloway Station has not only found a place in my stomach but they have found a place in my heart. I know that they say, that they are "Springfield's best bar and grill on the southside" but I suggest they just go with "Springfield's best bar and grill." read more

One girl was waiting all the tables working the bar working the register apparently cooking the food and doing everything. They need help desperately. First time here. This house like bar/pub is tucked behind another building and can be hard to find. The atmosphere is very laid back and nice. We went on Wednesday and there was live music. The service was good and our waitress was on top of things. I was with a group of 10 people. I started with the nachos. They came out looking amazing. Very fresh ingredients. Only down side was they were cold (hamburger and chicken combo). I then had the chicken strips diner with coke slaw and fries. The chicken strips were alright but slightly overcooked and chewy. The fries were homemade and amazing. Loved them even though they were cold as well. Overall not bad for the price but there would have been another star if the food came out warmer and the strips weren't overcooked. read more

We love to eat and hang out here. I love that they have a pretty nice selection of local beers on tap and a cool atmosphere to hangout and share conversation with friends and family. I also like their food. On our most recent trip, my husband and I split the combination platter appetizer. The Reuben egg rolls and the fried pickles were a highlight for me on that appetizer. Definitely something to try if you like fried foods and don't care too much about blocking your arteries (maybe do a little cardio before dinner?). For our main course, we split the cheesesteak. It was massive and tasty! They brought it out with an au jus dipping sauce. The sauce made the sandwich in my opinion. I love their fries too but their chips are a great side as well. This place....has gone WAY downhill since it was on Lone Pine. My husband and I met at the "original" on Lone Pine for the first time 20+ years ago after we had corresponded online...so we were kind of nostalgic for the place. We hung out and talked to him for quite a while. Not so much the case now. Only go to this place if you want to get a lukewarm greeting--I am guessing because we sat at the bar--and then be completely ignored. Disclaimer: It was Saturday night, so kind of busy. Not FULL, but steady busy. We like to sit at the bar at most places we go to chat with the bartender, get beer recommendations, etc. No one was sitting there, so we pulled up chairs right in the center. The first bartender we talked to asked for our drink order and my husband asked her about a particular beer on tap we haven't heard of. She shrugged and said, "I have no idea." I asked for water. She brought us two waters. I asked for menus. She gave us the menus then disappeared. A few minutes later, a new bartender arrived and asked if we'd been waited on. I said "no" and she took our food order. She refilled my water. Figured she'd ask for our beer-wine-whatever order then or momentarily. She never did. People from tables kept lining up on either end of the bar to place their drink orders. Because the line was steady, she kept helping them. Okay, understandable. We gave her several minutes to get through the lines. Still nothing. I told my husband to just interrupt her at one point when she went by. It was obvious she knew some of the people in line, though she was chatting it up with others she didn't know. We finally got mad, caught her attention to cancel our food order, and left. I should have read all of these reviews who complained of similar issues. Never again. read more

The wife and I went here to get the Corn Beef and Cabbage. First it took close to 20 min to get our entrees and the place wasn't busy at all. When the food arrived my Corn Beef and Cabbage was so dry it was inedible. When we received the bill I was still being charged for my entree even though we had brought this to their attention. A friend and I made our first visit for their fish fry Friday last week. Getting to the parking lot and finding the front door were rather awkward, but I don't think that should detract from the rating. I'm guessing they have added more decor since a few of these reviewers have been there - there was so much to look at, almost random though. I got a very "lake of the Ozarks" vibe from the building. They have an outdoor patio and maybe roof top seating that looks like it would be fun in the summer months. Service wasn't awful, but I certainly feel our servers could have been much warmer and more welcoming. Especially since we were getting dinner and not just drinks. The food was good enough that I look forward to going back and trying something new. Between the decor and the menu and the pink martini a guy at the bar was drinking, I just couldn't pinpoint the atmosphere they were trying to create. My networking group meets here once every other week and we love the lunch specials. The wait staff is awesome here! It's the kind of place where you have "your" waiter when you come in, and you always sit in their section. "Our" waiter recently left and we were sad because we didn't think anyone could replace them, but lo and behold along came a super strong replacement. We love the food here and it is well priced day and night. The parking is unique as it is located behind the building so the front looks like it could only hold 4 or 5 cars but that's not the case, drive on around! They play classic rock music at lunch time while showing sports and cooking shows on the TVs. They also have live bands sometimes. Also you should definitely check out trivia Tuesday nights at 7:30. Fish Friday is one of my nights. A large cod fish is served with choice of sides and the Deschutes pale ale breading is incredible. If you can't make it Friday, Monday's are a good choice as well as they have an Irish band that will entertain and you will be tapping your toe...maybe even dancing after a few good drinks. Great place for micro brewery beers! Definitely a hot spot for that. The service is really good as well, the servers and bartenders are great. The food is A-Ok. I got the rueben and it was certainly tasty, but not the best I've ever had. There's plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, which is great. However, it's always halfway through the meal that either a band goes on or a party in the upstairs begins karaoke and I'm just over it. But definitely check these guys out, they're certainly A-Ok/3 star stuff here. read more

Great beer selection. And great food. I've only ever eaten lunch here but I've never been disappointed. Their Greek pizza is $9.75 but big enough to split between 2-3 people for lunch. Their wraps are also super good, and most come with a spicy ranch that is fantastic! Their atmosphere is similar to most restaurant-bars: posters and beer signs on the walls with some tvs. Sometimes it takes a little while to get food, nothing outrageous, but you do get served quite a bit faster at the bar. This was some of the worst food, service and drinks I have ever had. The waitress was very short and not attentive at all. She did not bring us waters, was pushy for us to order. She was not the one who brought our food. She never checked in on us. She brought our very watered down and tasteless drinks after we were almost finished eating. Then brought our check, never asked how the food was. It took another 10 minutes to get our check paid. The food was dry and tasted horrible. This was our first time there. Horrible service. We met some people here for dinner and when we first arrived, the waitress took our drink order but didn't return for over 45 minutes to get our food order. I watched a table that came in after us order drinks and food and eat their meal in the time it took our server to return. They seemed to have a decent selection of local beers but I can't really comment on much of their drinks or food since we didn't get the opportunity to order much.
