    Cowboy butter

Well, this was a really disappointing trip. I come to Vegas once a month to try all the restaurants. I had been looking forward to ordering their tomahawk. I came with a friend and we ordered Steak tartare$22 Dozen oysters $25 Calamari $25 Tomahawk $170 Potato puree $16 Cowboy butter $6 Peppercorn sauce$6 The oysters were all different sizes and different tastes each oyster seemed to not match in flavors it was off putting. Steak tartare presented nicely but the bread given is clunky and not enjoyable. Calamari was very good would definitely say a little above average. The Tomahawk was the worst part of this meal. I had looked forward to it for weeks and it was awful! I asked for medium rare and it was blue with ZERO seasoning. I told the busboy since our waiter never came back, it's not seasoned and he suggested I add salt. Not only that but for $170 they could have taken the smallest semblance of care while cutting it and they cut it like a prime rib Absolutely inexcusable. Potato puree was wonderful but the portion is insanely small. The "enhancements" being the two separate sauces ordered. The cowboy butter was good, the peppercorn was not. However when we asked for boxes, they took both the sauces we had paid for and dumped them out and bussed them away they didn't give it to us to go. Our busboy was there more often than our waiter, who we saw exclusively when we ordered and when I asked for the bill. He was not obtainable to even communicate with. Would not recommend at all.

I returned again to Gallagher's after their remodel and had a an overall similar experience. The dining room is obviously much nicer now and is larger and more spacious. We had a large party, and the server was quite knowledge and friendly and attentive. I had the aged rum cocktail to start which was very tasty and fairly strong. Complimentary bread was provided, but it was kind of standard and fairly boring compared to the varieties offered at other strip steakhouses. I had the Caesar salad which was quite good overall but nothing terribly outstanding. I had the pork chop entree which came with potato puree and green beans. The pork was the highlight of the meal and was tender and juicy. The potato puree was honestly lukewarm and kind of boring. The green beans were also fairly standard. For dessert I had the toffee pudding. It was quite sweet and tasty, but the presentation was highly disappointing for a premium strip steakhouse (see photo). Overall, this was again a decent steakhouse experience but is far below what one would expect for a strip steakhouse.

Delicious delicious!! I enjoyed the surf and turf- 10 oz lobster tail cooked to perfection with cloves of garlic on the side and nice salted butter. 6oz fillet mignon cooked perfectly medium I couldn't finish it since the tail alone was so filling. The lobster mac and cheese had thick chunks of lobster and that too I only took one bite but so creamy! Hubby had porterhouse cooked medium and the seasoning was cooked to perfection with crunchy bridal sprouts seasoned.. oh and a whisky aged 10 years. Service was good- normal respectful steakhouse service, water refills constantly, fresh bread on table. I would return again no doubt. Ambiance was dimly lit

Gallagher's has become our g o-to steak place in Vegas. It's reasonable and has a nice, relaxing, but upscale feel, which we appreciate. The service has always been top-notch, and the food is exactly what we expect. We've been here maybe 10 times, and there are always inconsistencies with the steak. Different cuts and chefs can make a difference. With that, there are times I've liked it better than others, but even if it's a worse day, it's pretty dang good. I suggest everyone at the table get something different. The portions are big enough to share and you're going to find something you really love!

This steakhouse definitely lives up to the hype. From the moment you walk in, the classic steakhouse atmosphere hits--warm, elevated, and a little old-school in the best way. The dry-aged steaks are next level--perfectly cooked, insanely flavorful, and worth every bite. I tried the filet but my friend tried the bone in Rib Eye that was to die for. Sides were just as impressive, especially the creamed spinach. Service was flawless--attentive without being overbearing, and everything came out seamlessly. If you're looking for a true Vegas steakhouse experience that delivers on quality, service, and vibe, this is your spot!

Located inside New York New York casino. I've wanted to try them for a while they display aged steaks in the window... if I ever rob a casino that's what I'm stealing. I'm a steak guy. I eat a lot of steak. I mean I don't love steak I just tell it I do so it will sleep with me...this was probably within the top 3 steaks in a lifetime of eating steak. I had a waiter and an assistant waiter. That seemed to be the norm. Both were polite, well turned out and efficient. The restaurant was very classic steakhouse vibe, not a complaint. I was torn between the ribeye and the bison ribeye and the waiter was able to explain the difference. I went with the ribeye. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The dry aging made it melt like butter. My mouth is watering typing this... paired it with a loaded baked potato. You can't really mess up a loaded baked potato and they didn't. I also had the French onion soup. Again a fairly simple soup but it sometimes falls short. This one did not. It was everything i look for in onion soup. They served a crusty bread and dipped in the soup it was a really nice combo. There was also a cranberry bread that just worked. Basically I gave it 5 stars because 6 wasn't an option.

Always Worth It Great service and friendly people await you at the bar at Gallagher's in the NYNY Hotel and Casino. Oh yeah. Great steak too. I have my usual here, as I do at many places. A bottle of the Educated Traveler $75 that never disappoints to start with my wedge $16 that sadly has gotten smaller. Not that I need more food. Next let's fire the Cowboy (bone in) Rib-Eye $75 cooked medium rare, because that's the correct way, with a side of creamed spinach $15. I also ask for some sea salt from the kitchen so after I slice up the steak I can sprinkle some on. It's a lot of food and I always have leftovers but it's worth it. There are so many top notch steakhouse within walking distance (Ocean Prime & Joe's Seafood but get the bone in filet) that I still visit when I'm in town but Gallagher's is always on my list. Cheers to the chefs and great team at the bar. I'll see you next time. Or maybe again tonight.

10/21/2025 - Still an amazing restaurant. Great atmosphere and service. It has an old time NY restaurant. And all the staff is very friendly and attentive. The aged steak is still one of my favorites. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. It's needs no sauce. The cocktails are very made too. I recommend sharing if you're staying in Vegas because most hotel rooms don't have refrigerators.

I think its a bit unfair the very first time I was here 14 years ago with my friends. I went again and again for the next 13 years and sometimes the steak was awesome and sometimes it was bad, but their king crab was always really good. The service has always been good and its a place I enjoy myself at. The atmosphere is nice and it feels at home. Idk I haven't gone back to give a better review. They deserve better stars.

    Crispy Calamari
    Corinna W.

Dinner was fabulous and service was impeccable. It's a casual restaurant located inside the New York New York hotel We ordered calamari, escargot, crab cakes, beef tartare, cowboy rib eye steak, prime rib of beef, mushrooms and cream of spinach. Although everything was delicious, the dishes that stood out for me were the cowboy steak, prime rib, and escargot. Cowboy rib eye steak had bone in. Cooked perfectly (medium rare) and so rich in flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by the prime rib because many times when it's not a prime rib restaurant I'm disappointed but it was off the hook! The prime rib was sooo tender! It's a big piece of meat so I shared it with my daughter. Since we were sharing they portioned it and plated it for us which was great. Lastly I've never had escargot in a light puff pastry before. It was so tasty. We were all so stuffed as they were generous portions. We were also celebrating my son's bday so they comp'd him a strawberry mousse with vanilla cake. What a great dining experience.

I dine at Gallagher's at New York-New York weekly and routinely spend $600+ per visit, so this experience was especially disappointing. I came in with a party of four and politely asked if we could be seated at a slightly larger table. We typically order many shared plates, and we are almost always seated at a table for six without issue. Our waiter this visit was excellent and very accommodating, which made the hostess interaction stand out even more. When I made the request, the manager rolled her eyes and responded condescendingly, saying, "A bigger table for four people?" The tone was dismissive and unnecessary. She then walked away without explanation and proceeded to speak about us to another staff member within view. It wasn't about the table it was about the attitude. For a restaurant of this caliber, especially one that relies on repeat customers, this level of service at the front door is unacceptable and uncomfortable. I'll continue to praise the wait staff, who were professional and attentive, but management should seriously address how guests are treated upon arrival. No regular customer should feel talked down to for making a reasonable request.

Rolled in with 10 of my closest Chums for our annual Fantasy Football draft, and Gallaghers was the perfect pick. Scott, our server, not only steered me toward the Rib Eye (life-changing, 10/10 would draft again), but also dropped some Fantasy advice that may or may not win me the league. Vegas is stacked with steakhouses, but Gallaghers is the one you want at the end of the day.

The New York Strip was cooked to perfection. It was carved table side by the amazing Bryan. The Prime Rib was fabulous! The Mac and Cheese had so much soul. The fries were scrumptious. The crab cheese baked mushrooms were superior and even the bread basket and butter were hitting on all cylinders! NONE of the food needed seasoning as it was marinated and seasoned to perfection! We laughed at the fact they've got salt and pepper shakers on the table. It's definitely NOT needed. Drinks were outstanding! The whole time we dined all you could hear was "Mmm Mmm Mmm," because the cuisine was THAT GOOD! This place is a MUST GO TO if in VEGAS!

I'm still dreaming about that bacon. The Caesar salad was a bit mid and slightly dry for my liking. The Maine lobster tail, however, was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh. I wasn't a huge fan of the creamed spinach or the fried potatoes, even though the portions were very generous. Personally, I would've preferred a loaded baked potato instead. We all shared the tomahawk steak and sides of sautéed mushrooms and truffle fries. That steak was incredible and so tender. It was cooked to medium perfection and had charred fat. (See video). It came with the crunchiest roasted potatoes. The best part was the crunch bits on the cutting board. The sides were tasty as well and I forgot to mention the bread served once you're seated. It's super soft and the butter is nicely whipped. For cocktails, I really enjoyed the Off the Rails Old Fashioned which you create via a dice game. That was real fun and the drink packs a nice punch. For dessert we shared a decadent and moist chocolate cake slice which was huge for a slice. Overall it was a great experience.
