I wouldn't be surprised if it is the best pogaca west of the Bosphorus! My wife and I met in Turkey. Eating here took us right back. The locum, baklava, coffee all were fantastic, and the more substantial food was great, too. Most of all, the hospitality and kindness of those working and welcoming us was 100% Turkish. It may not be in Turkey, but sitting inside it really felt like we could walk out on to an Istanbul street afterward. Highly recommended! read more

Nothing else, no drinks, just the cake. THE BILL WAS $31!!!!!!! Are you serious??!!!!!!! They intentionally post NO prices on anything in their display case which is not only an unfair way to treat your customers, its deceptive business practice and should be illegal!! Fun atmosphere with costumes to dress up in. The food is incredible not just the coffee. You order at the front but they bring it up to your table. Music is a bit loud but otherwise it's a good work space. read more

All around a wonderful experience. The breads, cheeses and desserts were excellent. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and very warm with our kids. As someone who has been to almost every city in America due to my job, it might be the worst breakfast presentation I've ever seen. First of all, it is unacceptable that there is more than the same kind of cheese on the cheese plate we order, and accordingly, the absence of essential products in Turkish breakfast such as tomatoes, olives and cucumbers. In addition, the menemen was not the best and the cheese put in it was like a joke. The service and the music played in the restaurant already suppress my appetite for food. My boyfriend and I went during Ramadan nights, so it was rightfully packed and their staff was working so hard. One of the staff noticed we had been waiting a little longer because one of the things we ordered had to be freshly baked, so she gave us a complementary Turkish delight and it was the best thing I have ever tasted. The rose water was so fresh and delightful. So amazing!! The waitstaff was moving fast and still overseeing to everyone's needs. We stopped by Galata Sweets after a sunday lunch, and I am glad that we did! It is a small Turkish shop offering various types of Turkish desserts, breakfast items, and coffee. We ordered 2 different types of chocolate cakes (sold by piece), the tres de leche cake, and coffee. The front desk person (likely owner(?)) was very kind and offered us different types of Turkish delight sweets and baklava free of cost while we were waiting for our order to be prepared - all of them were quite delicious. We also enjoyed live music while waiting (I think the instrument was 'Qanun') - it was quite soothing. The ambiance inside the store was pleasant, and the wait staff seemed friendly. All the pastries were quite good and fresh - I especially enjoyed the spunginess of the Tres leche cake. Couple of tips - a) Make a reservation ahead of time, if you're planning to dine in ( was quite busy while we were there), b) Try a Turkish delight sweets with your coffee - the pairing is phenomenal! I'd highly recommend this place (definitely coming back for more). read more

Food is mediocre, flavor is okay but nothing that is outstanding but their customer service needs improvement and their ordering/table system doesn't work -- I watched more than a handful of times their attempts to deliver food to the incorrect tables then re-deliver to different tables including ours. They have a child delivering desserts and he slams it on the table without a single word and not even paying attention to whether he's properly placing the plate. The man upfront has a terrible demeanor and when we walked in and asked about seating/ordering he literally shushed and stopped us to answer a question from someone who had just stood up to ask for a check and then proceeded to tell us to wait while he perused on his phone. While we typically would have left, we were starving and didn't want to drive elsewhere and have to search & find another place nearby, etc. Truthfully, this could be a decent brunch location if they just gave a bit more effort toward their customer service and etiquette -- for me the rude and curt demeanor makes anything undesirable. The food on the displays is not the food you get. The food on the display is large and looks well-made. Basically, walking in to galata I did like the scenery and think it was very unique but frankly after that it went all downhill. I walked in for a Khanafe thats already pre made so it shouldn't take too long. The place wasn't busy at all so I'm not expecting a long wait but I was wrong. For starters the pricing of galata sweets is extremely terrible the customer service was awful and the way they treated me was all around unpleasant. They made me wait 34 minutes to be exact while guy in the front told me it'd be no longer than a 7-10 minute wait. Another thing was that Although this is partially my fault I got a ticket for blocking a sidewalk just because I wasn't expecting to wait so long. Even the cop was shocked I got something so small and had to wait so long. read more
