Promenade Artisan Foods - Turmeric latte and spicy breakfast sandwich

I visited Promenade Artisan Foods during a Yelp Elite event…read more The service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly. The layout is a bit confusing. They could also use different signage to highlight menu items. After ordering a drink, I noticed, handwritten on a glass partition, a drink that I would rather have had. My original drink order hadn't been prepared as of yet, so I was able to switch. I appreciated the accommodation. The eggnog/coffee drink is a delightful concoction. Definitely give it a try if you like both drinks. I noticed lots of pastries and unique sandwiches. The menu is certainly what I'd call "artisan". Prices are moderate and comparable with other like establishments. The little cafe is a great addition to the vibe of the building.

It has a European café feel with breakfast and lunch offerings like sandwiches, croissants, and pastries. So far I've tried the rosemary shortbread and the breakfast sandwich. The rosemary shortbread was very buttery with a hint of salt and sweetness. The breakfast sandwich is very filling. It's basically an omelet filled with cheese, bacon, and spinach between two slices of ciabatta. It comes with fruit and whipped cream. Everything is delicious and of high quality. The service is very friendly as well. Since I work in this area I will be stopping by to try other menu items.

Sadly, we got a message that they changed us to inside due to possible rain. I understand, but it didn't end up raining and the outside area looked incredible. I added a photo. Oh well. That was the only real bummer. The service was amazing - pacing out all of the small plate dishes in a sensible fashion. We ordered 7 different things, and one extra arrived that we didn't order. Every item was fresh and flavorful. We definitely will come back - though not all the time as that is cost prohibitive. While it definitely is on the pricey side, we are very happy to have dined here tonight.

The waitress was great with suggestions and any questions we had. My friend didn't like any of the mocktail options, but the bartender was able to just create one that she loved. We started with the roasted mushrooms and the sweet corn agnolotti, both were delicious. I especially liked the mushrooms. Then we had the gnocchi and the seafood fideo. I loved the seafood fideo it was great. Overall it was a great experience that I do recommend.

From the time I walked in I was greeted with a smile and got seated right away. I was told my waiters name and that he would be over shortly. My waiter arrived with a very energetic attitude-- he was very knowledgeable of the menu and was also very professional, which made my ordering smooth, I wish I could remember his name. I do remember he had a bald head and a blazer on. The food arrived pretty fast and also hot and fresh. The presentation of the food was amazing and so was the taste of everything. This place did not disappoint. The decor is really nice-with a New Orleans type of vibe. The music was good too. It was a breath of fresh air to receive such top notch service and enjoy every single thing on my plate. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're thinking about it and I will definitely return if I'm ever in Detroit again.

I had a party of 4, we were seated immediately even while waiting on the last person in the party. We were seated at 2:30pm and received our food at 4:19. Three other parties who were seated after us but served and checked out before us, one of them consisting of 10 people. Our server, Payton was not the most attentive but still very polite and apologetic. We asked multiple times for water refills in glasses made for toddlers. We were seated at a table that was very wobbly and we overheard from the staff that every other table was missing screws. One of our drinks was cancelled because they were unable to make it but we're unsure why. Right before we got our food, I was singing along to the music, and someone who was clearly in charge asked me how I knew this song and not to say that I got it from my grandma because she would make sure I NEVER got my food. This made us feel like the restaurant did not take us seriously because we were young. When our food did finally come, our catfish and grits were very bland and lacking flavor. All food portions were very small and we never got a side of toast that we ordered. At the end of our meal, we brought our experience up to who we presume was the owner, and she gave us each discounts on our bill, $12 off of a $108 bill including gratuity for mine. It took around 15 minutes for us to get our updated bills back. Overall we're not very happy. none of us will be back which sucks because we did want to support a local black family owned business.
