What a gem to find this family owned nursery in the heart of Poway!…read more The nursery is MASSIVE! I could spend hours here looking at all the different plants, trees, and flowers. They have an extensive selection to choose from and if you don't find what you're looking for, they will help you find it. Their prices may be a little higher for some items compared to corporate stores like Home Depot but the quality justifies the price. For some other things, they are actually the lowest price. The nursery is clean and organized with plenty of workers to help assist you with picking something out, answering any questions, or helping you load things into the car. I was in and out within 15 minutes! The parking lot is plentiful so no issues there. For parents of little ones or those who love watching mini trains, they have a huge mini train track set up outside in the back by the bonsai trees. A fun and free entertainment to keep your kids occupied while you shop. We bought an apple tree so hope it's fruitful (crossing fingers)!

I feel that the higher prices are justified based on selection and the customer service

On my way out, I noticed a landscape lighting display, and I know where I am coming back to for my lighting needs, for that next phase of the project, after irrigation is done.

Big shout out to Renee in the garden center, I called around to 4 stores looking for some specific plants I wanted to give my daughter as a gift since she just bought a house, and 3 of the other Home Depot stores I called told me they were out of stock on the plants, without even looking. When I called the Poway store, Renee in the garden center told me she would go look, they were in several different locations around the garden area. When she got back to the phone, she had located 5 of the exact plants that I wanted, and offered to put them aside for me (despite being a busy Saturday afternoon). When I got to the store, Renee greeted me with a big smile , by name even (!) , and had the plants already loaded up in a cart for me. I very much appreciate Renee going above and beyond, saving me from driving all over San Diego looking for something that probably was not to be found.

They have such a great selection, beautiful and fresh and the area is shaded which is nice for the employees and the trees. It seems like every year prices go up but we picked out a nice, full 5-6' tree and it was just under $50. The staff is great, very nice. Bailey helped us with our tree, he cut the bottom and even offered to help us take it the car if we needed it (we had it though). Super nice guy (plus thought it was cool he and my daughter share the same name).

The succulents are reasonably priced based on rarity and size. It was a little unconventionally and a test of patience to pay by check and wait for them to receive the check before they would process the order but it was well worth the wait. I've ordered succulents from quite a few places and Daniel's has the best shipping rate and best packaging to keep the succulents from tumbling around and getting damaged during the shipping process. The succulents arrived undamaged. All through the process, Daniel sends personal emails to let you know when each milestone is met (order received, payment received, package shipped). He also provided some care instructions.
